Nah, Roger was the official Bond at that time. This is just a shitty knock-off. Sean should have just stayed away from the role after You Only Live Twice. Diamonds are Forever was shit as well.
There's no way Cubby would have allowed that ; he wasn't best pleased when Roger sent up the Bond image in The Cannonball Run, so a Moore cameo in NSNA would have really sent him over the edge.
Sean would in fact return one final time as 007 when he voiced Bond in the "From Russia With Love" video game. I only saw N.S.N.A. once. Didn't care too much for it but it does have a very odd charm. Edit: Watched N.S.N.A. again, much better than I remember 4 ppk's out of 5
I’m thrilled that this film - talked about as far back as the late ‘70s - became a reality! It was one of Sean Connery’s best performances, and a great relief from what the Eon films had become. When people say, it’s not like Roger Moore’s films, my answer is . . . Thank God!!! And I’m happy that Moore didn’t do that cameo - dumb idea!
In the 1980s Sean Connery was no longer young. But due to certain makeup Never say never again was when Sean was yet allowed to reappear on screen retaining his youthful look and charm of his prime in the 1960s after which he would start to truly age which is apparent in the 1989 movie of Indiana Jones The Last Crusade.
NSNA was a mediocre film but it had some high points: Klaus Maria Brandauer as the sophisticated psychopath Largo, Barbara Carrera as the mad Fatima Blush, and Sean Connery as an older, experienced James Bond.
@@blessedmslady7341 I hope you enjoyed the movie. I remember vividly walking out of the cinema in 1983 at the end of the film and feeling that I´d been robbed ! I will, as I´m sure you will too, remember Sean fondly for much better work than this. RIP Sir Sean.
I feel like once you've passed the torch as Bond you should never come back. I mean it'd be pretty confusing if Jodie Whittaker regenerated back into David Tenant. I much prefer each Bond to be a separate era instead of someone coming back in between eras.
Comparing it to Doctor Who is a horrible example, since A) Tom Baker 'came back' as the caretaker (potentially a future, retired doctor) and B) Peter Capaldi made a big deal about 'revisiting some old faces' and C) the Doctor is an alien with a regeneration gimmick. They could easily bring back a former actor as a shock - a sort of time lord Grover Cleveland. It could work. I, myself, would love to see Bond actors be more akin to Doctor Who actors - participating in video games, audio adventures, and the like. Sean Connery came back for the FRWL video game - which was awesome. How cool would it be if all the Bonds likenesses were featured in a video game or something. Unfortunately, we'd have to get an impersonator for Roger Moore's voice. RIP.
Never Say Never Again is not part of the official series. He did return in Diamonds are Forever after George Lazenby took over and left after one film. You can’t really compare Dr Who and James Bond, they are completely different franchises. What Sean did in returning to the James Bond role after leaving the series is highly unlikely ever to happen again, it was just the fact that George Lazenby quit after OHMSS and Sean was still young enough to play Bond again (even though he didn’t look in great shape in DAF).
I think the unlikelihood is what makes this bond special though. Its literally called "never say never again" i think the movie is more of a one time novelty than an attempt to take back the torch, something tenant ALSO did in a later doctor who special after he had already left.
@@ImpartiallySpeaking Yes, I do know, but I thought that you were just insulting Rowan Atkinson the man, and not referring to his character(s). My initial comment was also intended to just be joking, but I'm not sure if it came across that way.

Me too
I wish Roger had done that cameo 🙂
@Jack the Film Fanatic it could have been hilarious
@@rubydooby1679 Both George Lazenby and Roger Moore were considered to cameo as Bond in the film along with Sean, but it never happened.

He looks better here than in the film
Damn, I was just about to comment that!
It’s the mustache. I wish he’d kept it for Bond.
He looks much better in “Never Say Never Again” than he did in “Diamonds Are Forever,” which was his worst Bond, anyway!

I love this movie 🍿 and thank you Sean Connery for never saying never again 🎰🎲
I like this unofficial part with Sean :-).
Yes, the definitive bond without a doubt
It's the best James Bond movie. Top-class actors, great locations, profound humor and a charming James Bond who doesn't take himself too seriously.
Lol what
You're being sarcastic, right? Right??
It’s definitely not, but perhaps not as bad as some people think.
Really? It’s quite terrible aside from Connery and Fatima Blush
It is definitely one of Connery’s best, along with “From Russia With Love.” And superior to its source, “Thunderball.”
200th like. Great interview!
Thanks!

Sean looked older in THE UNTOUCHABLES.
Sean looks better in this interview than in the movie. Bad hair piece and make up in NSNA.

👍👍
Never say never again is a remake one of his own James Bond movies
Some years later Sean Connery went on record as saying "the film was a toilet". I wouldn´t disagree.
I'm about to watch it for the first time and I can't imagine any movie staring Sean Connery a " Toilet " 🤔 RIP SEAN 🌹 October 31, 2020

So much attention to detail only to put a ridiculous looking brown wig on his head which looked more stupid than even Rowan Atkinson!
