Much applause to you..That looks to be a real bugger of a job.. Question, I really hope you can help me... Does that block have anything to do with the heater ? the heat in my van is weak until i been driving it for more than 30 min. and it'll only be luke warm after idling 15/20 min.. outside temperature 40F or less. most times the engine temp will be up, but heat is weak... drive another 15 min and it'll be warm,, but ya gotta drive about another 10 before it's finally kicking hot. ( 160F ) I took it to the Ford place, and they claimed they checked it out.. and said all was working ok,, I don't think they really did a through check.. I'm thinking it might be a IFFY thermostat... But it seems to be too difficult of a job.. bout as hard as you changing that box... Any tips to make things easier to do ? or should I just have a shop do it? I have worked on all my older cars before, So I am some dumb, but not plumb dumb. Why did they put thermostat in impossible place.. Looks like if i did do it.. i'd have to remove the PS Pump on top,,, or AC comp. underneath.. either way , I don't see an easy way to do it..
I envy you.. great job on the van.. If you was near me, i'd just bring my van to you..

Thank you for this video. Were you able to figure out where the leak was coming from? Was it the gasket? I think that's the problem I have. Tearing it apart this weekend.
Just changed mine. the gasket was completly gone.
