Charles Haddon (C.H.) Spurgeon (June 19, 1834 January 31, 1892) was a British Reformed Baptist preacher who remains highly influential among Christians of different denominations, among whom he is still known as the "Prince of Preachers." In his lifetime, Spurgeon preached to around 10,000,000 people, often up to 10 times a week at different places. His sermons have been translated into many languages. Spurgeon was the pastor of the New Park Street Chapel in London for 38 years. In 1857, he started a charity organization called Spurgeon's which now works globally. He also founded Spurgeon's College, which was named after him after his death.
Spurgeon was a prolific author of many types of works including sermons, an autobiography, a commentary, books on prayer, a devotional, a magazine, and more. Many sermons were transcribed as he spoke and were translated into many languages during his lifetime. Arguably, no other author, Christian or otherwise, has more material in print than C.H. Spurgeon.

I sit in my truck in tears, cut to the heart. I'm a sinner broken and without defence. My life is a utter failed muddy puddle. If Christ have not mercy on me then I'm just wood for the fire. I don't deserve heaven, but I will live my life for him, not for salvation but for the excellent chance to sit at the feet of my hero and give him praise if only for a moment.
It made me cry!
You my friend understand the truth of the gospel. A true blessing! So many never get it.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
It was so simple to realize that Christ is the answer. I took a lifelong, twisted, filthy path of isolation, self-hatred, and hopeless confusion that twined through satan's fingers, but the LORD kept a tether securely fastened to my soul through my spirit the entire time. Words can't convey. Bless you all in Jesus' name.

For some reasons when I listen to Charles Spurgeon, I see the power of the Gospel and Holy Spirit's presence. Honestly, I highly recommend all Christians, and even non-Christian listen to Charles Spurgeon.

Ummh this left me in a place of deep contemplation. Each man shall work out his own salvation with fear and trembling. Oh Lord deliver us from self righteousness and complacency.
I am willing to examine my heart, God please help me to carry this task. I am the weakest of all. You ... Only You can help me examine this wicked heart of mine.

After examining, if wretchedness is Not found ..........look again .
Circumstances in life have exposed the lack of faith as well as its existence.
Without the difficulties I would not know how much I would doubt God and even rebel against Him.
It was so humbling to see my true heart.
My only hope is His grace finds me and not that I will ever secure it on my own.
A harrowing test. But for His grace, I would be condemned to hell, I failed, I had walked away and was deluded for a long time. Now I am clawing my way back.

everyday is a day to repent for our sins, may the lord always have mercy upon us, for even though we are saved by the grace of our God and savior we are still in the flesh, and the flesh battles the spirit, this will continue to be so until he comes and gives us our glorified body.
Now that was fire!! Praise God!! If modern day churches would preach like that, I believe modern Christianity would look alot different instead of the cheap watered down, worldly version we have in 2020.
Agreed. Like Joyce Meyers who says if you're thinking about trying to be better -- it's good enough. No, it's not.
Also Joel Osteen -- who never preached a sermon that touched anyone or made them look into their heart.
Just feel good sermons.
False prophets.
The scriptures declare that in the last days there will be a famine of the word. We live in that day today❤ we must learn to feed ourselves and digest the word of God while we still allowed by law to have a Bible.❤ God bless you😇

Notice how in Spurgeon's time, calling one to examine self is considered "a tender appeal." In our day and age, such an appeal is considered inflammatory, and an aggression and an assault. How dare one suggest self examination. Self examination has saved me on every occasion that I have employed such examination.
Father God, I pray for everyone reading this... we are in a fallen word; and greatly distracted. Lord we repent of all sins, known and unknown. Give us the know how/ give us the guts to stay close, to read the word, and to above all else to abide in you, and to check every motivation, every thought... and to hold each thought captive and compare it to your word to find if we are in order. Help us keep our hearts and homes in order. Help us not to be found unprepared when you come back for your bride. God I pray for this world - forgive us all. God I ask that you raise up more Godly men to lead this world back to you the almighty... the one and only truely lovely and living God- the great commission... help me personally- forgive me and all who seeks after you.. in your generous and gracious name Lord Jesus I pray for your help; Amen.

There is likely NOT a single man of God in the ENTIRE WORLD willing to preach like this out of fear of man.
I have never met one except in days gone by (my youth).
Show me just one. Anywhere.
Real men of God do not exist today.
Because of this His Judgement draws nigh.
There are not many, but I know of a few.
Dear heart, I differ there are but few true man of God , f i l l e d of the spirit of God ,full of faith , full of wisdom used of God, and preaching the full truth of God with power on high!!!! Praise God❤!!!!!... God has a people and he'll always have a people if he didn't have a people then there wouldn't be able to have a catch it away ❤ it is my belief that the people of God today the bride of Christ are going to be few as it was in the first world but she will be perfect undefiled by the world wrinkle and Spot Free from s i n❤ praise the Lord!!!.... don't be discouraged, they were living in the last days there are a saints of God and there's hope that we can be one of them no matter how few they are!!!!!!❤... The Bible teaches us that the judgments of God will fall because of sin!!!!, the Abomination that comes before the Lord no fear of God, full of antichrist and unbelief. Perversion wickedness evil murderers so on and so forth. The murder of innocent blood. The sin of Solomon and Gomorrah. That's what's bringing judgement on the world.... not only is America backflip from God turning her back on God and fighting against God God will not tolerate very much longer ....
The church today is lost nobody teaches on repentance they are of the world shame on them where are the true men of God thank you for this teaching God Bless

That’s exactly what a sermon a great sermon does, the Word of God comes and search us, breaks everything, our own deeds our self righteousness because the Word of God is a sword that cuts and penetrates to the bone! Thank You Lord for saving me through JESUSCHRIST Sacrifice, I am nothing and I don’t deserve anything but hell, but YOU took me out of the muladar and forgave me! THANK YOU JESUS!!!🙏🏼😢🥺🤍

I have criticized many churches that I have eventually left and felt bad about it. This is the teaching that I was looking for all along
What a heart touching sermon. Every believer needs to examine their hearts. I too! Today the whole world needs this sermon and JESUS CHRIST as The Saviour. Amen
I don't want to be weighed in the balance and found wanting. Dear Jesus smash my will, pride, and self pity. Help these words not be just feigned words but a call to surrender to you. Foul I, to that fountain fly, wash me saviour or I die.

Bro. Spurgeon pulls no punches. Powerful preaching, how we should all endeavor to be so bold even when the opposition seems overwhelming.

I did not realise the self deception that I have been engaging myself in!
Please strengthen me with the Holy Spirit, and intercede for us all to The Almighty Father.
May all of you brothers and sisters whom feel the same way pray as one, that we may be true ambassadors for Jesus, in thought and word and deed.
May the salt not lose it's flavour, for we are told that its fit to be thrown out, and trampled underfoot.

The world, and the pleasures thereof can distract for even unto a lifetime.
Discipline your passions.
Communion with God thru Christ our Lord who indwells us. This the world seeks but cannot see because it sees only passions aroused thru the senses.
So it gorges itself on sensuality.
"Go and sell all you have.." should indicate to us the mere practical or impractical use of the entirely of the world itself.
But for those found in the faith,
"The mystery of God hidden thruout the ages..which is Christ in you".

What wonderful thought-provoking thinking and yet terrifying in its truth. Let us thank God for people like Charles Spurgeon who have the deep insight of the Holy Spirit and can speak deeply into our hearts.
My replay is: psalm 51:12; restore unto me the joy of thy salvation ; and uphold me with thy free- spirit . - ( then- verse- 11- cast me not away from thy presence ; and take not-thy holy spirit- from- me.-( that’s a ready , hands on heart to get us ready-prepare my heart and I’ll have more of him and less of me.--( his truth Jesus said it will make us free ………..his way , his life-(-always , forever ,his will be done.- on earth as it is in heaven-( part of his prayer in - Matthew 6; read- and John 17 also your meditation Tonight and always I pray……..
Pray that God grants to us more preachers like Charles Spurgeon but more Christians liking practicing his preachings from Holy Spirit!

An incredible, deep sermon of examining ourselves. Yes, our hearts, minds and mouths need to be cleansed by Jesus. We need Him daily.
While we examine our hearts and past, remember God chose you to be better for God. Our past has been wiped away with all our sins. We are new creatures after salvation.

I hope most of the "Great Men of God" of our day will go back to preaching the undiluted word of God instead of the modern day make me feel good messages that bring about false converts. Many in church today have been led astray by modern day pastors lowering the standard of God in order to have their churches full of lukewarm, half-baked Christians. May God raise for us true men of God that would be bold to declare the word of God to dying generations of ours. Remember brethren, if only in this world we have hope in Christ Jesus we are the most miserable of all men. May God counts us all worthy to spend eternity with Him.
