I want to thank you for this video. I have a 2016 Silverado and added these mirrors. Without this video, I would have had to buy the door harness the dealer wanted to sell me. They were no help in adding the wires like you did.
Just want to thank you for the video just installed tow mirrors this weekend on my 2017 and it went smooth. I used the pins from your description, and 18 gauge wire (factory size) and just in case any one is wondering my factory mirrors did not have a turn indicator, and the turn indicator is pin 41 on the block. So I had to pin 9,11, and 41. Went together great.
Hey Joe or Arthur, did either of u have a ground wire to deal with off that jumper harness with your after market mirrors. I'm doing this on my 15 Silverado and I just ordered the pins as I have the pins I need on the body side. Just wondering how you connected everything inside the door panel? Butt connectors to the jumper harness from new 18 gauge pins? Also is there a safety clip u pulled up before inserting the pins I noticed once u have the plug out there's a purple piece inserted in the top looks like a lock? Any feedback would help. Thanks!
Cody G I tapped into the ground on the door harness right by the connector (black wire), not sure what you mean about the purple lock, this video he shows you how to lift the lock to undo the door harness from the body
Okay just rewatched it he doesn't show how to lift the lock but you just pull it out from the top and it comes down
Joe Bell if you go to the 1:01 minute mark it's the purple mark on top side of the connector. I know how to release it from the body but as far as when u inserted the new pins. Looks like there could be a lock to pull up in order to insert the new pin.
Cody G hmm could be, but I'm pretty sure the pins lock in with the barbs the sides of the pins have, so of my pins slipped right in and they click when they get all the way down, some were very difficult to get all the way down so I filed down the square part of the pin to just round it off a little bit to slip in easier
I bought the harnesses from ebay and just took out the old harnesses everything works great

Thanks for sharing. I've been going nuts trying to find these stupid connectors. Your link takes to a page where you need to purchase 6000, but I eventually found it where I could buy just what I need. Can't wait to complete my mirror installation.
Where were you able to find just a handful of connectors? Online? Local Store? Dealer?

I see the link for the pins going into the door, can you tell me what is the part # for the pins going into the plug at the kick panel, it's males on one plug, females on the other

Great vids. My question is what terminal was Marker light and which was cargo light. I got a 2016 high country just replaced the DL3 mirrors with the 1aauto mirrors.
A Great helpful video. I have a 2015 chevy silverado 3500hd and it comes with tow mirrors but I'm upgrading it to the after market tow mirrors. So if I do it your way would I still need to wire it to the X61a junction box that's located below the steering wheel?

I ran my wires to the body harness, connected the wires but the lights didn't work then I noticed I didn't have a ground wire. Where did you get your ground? I know for sure I have those pinned.
Great job on the video, I had installed my mirrors from 1A Auto using the previous video you had made and wired them into the fuse box, under the dash. Still worked out well but I wish I had sent his one first! Anyway, is there a way I can run a wire to the spot lights, so that I could toggle them on if I wanted to, when I was backing up? I know it wouldn't work to always come on, due to the harsh light in someones eyes behind the vehicle, but if I could toggle it, it would be super convenient for when I'm backing my boat into my driveway at night... no one is behind me during those times.. Thanks!
You'll want to wire the spot lights into the cargo switch light. Your silverado/sierra should have a button on the dash to turn on your cargo lights. This light also works when you are in reverse. That is the one I had mine tied into. Best way to get to that switch is from the same door harness shown in this video. Far as I know it's a different pin. Not sure which one.
@@ArthinuxWilliams I Douglas I was wanting to know does it matter that you currently have the Dl3 mirrors that doesn't have the turn signals on glass and I am having an issue buying small amounts of 20 gauge wire to add turn signal on glass I have a 2018 GMC Sierra Elevation model are all the pins there in the factory harness? .
So as long as I add the pins into the mirror harness side I should be good to see the turn signals working? On the mirrors and does the wire have to have the red and yellow on the one wire ore does it really matter what color wire you add .

i have a 2016 chevy 2500 wt which came with the small mirrors. They are only power adjustable. I bought a new set of tow mirrors from abuddy that traded his truck in. They are power adjustable with the turn signal, running lights, and the two led reverse or cargo lights. Would I still tap into pins 9 and 11 to make everything work? what are the pin numbers on the mirror plug?
I don't have an OEM mirror pin out at the mirror. I know that no matter what it should be pin 9 and 11 at the x510 connector in the door jam. As long as the pins are present on the body side you should be good for the cargo and parking lamps.

No. Pin 41 is for the turn signal on the body harness side.

I have a 2014 GMC Denali Sierra, my old mirrors had turn signals everything else power, I upgraded to ECCPP tow mirrors and they did not come with any extra wires, the tow mirrors have running lights turn signals and cargo lights, now everything works except the cargo lights and the running lights, will this way work with the 2014 model

Hi Guys, I am attempting find some pins to fit the Door harness plug where the Towing mirrors plug in, I have a 2016 Silverado 2500HD , I just need to add wiring for the Cargo lights and Signals etc.

Thanks for the vid man, it's really helpful! But if I can ask you to clarify a few things for me because I've never done a project like this before and am a lil nervous! But recently I purchased a 2016 SLE GMC Sierra 2500HD gas engine and I want to install the 1A Auto aftermarket Tow mirrors on my truck. I see that the kit comes with what I need to install them but I am a lil confused about the pin situation. I understand that I need to connect the 2 red wires in the correct slots but what is the extra part you needed and give the link to? is that something I'll need or was that part/link specifically for a extra part you needed for the mirrors to work on your SLT model? My SLE model does not have blinkers on the mirrors or power folding. just power adjustable and heated but I want to purchase/install the Tow mirrors that have the blinkers on them. Do you know if I will need any other additional parts/wires ect.... for my model or do I just connect the 2 red wires and adapters and it's good?
I apologise for the lengthy text and all the questions, I'm just new to this sort of stuff and could use all the guidence I can get!

The pin I have in the description is what actually slides into the connector. Without that you could just press the open end of the wires into the connector but nothing would hold it there.
We also carry a tow mirror kit for this truck that adds the power fold feature on, it comes with a pre-made wire harness that plugs into the mirrors. If you have any questions we can also help to answer them for you.
Can you show how they connected at the door and mirror harnesses please. Having trouble figuring that part out. Did you just splice the wire from the mirror harness or did you pin into the door harness and run straight to the body harness ?

After you put the red wire and pins in the harness can you show were those wire go to or how they connect to the mirror harness
The tow mirror has the wire's jumped off already so you just connect them together. I don't have the truck or the mirror hooked up at the moment so it will be a bit before I could show the other side.

I have a 2017 Silverado and my aftermarket mirrors came with 4 extra wires. The wiring paper says each wire is:
signal on glass(+)
Lights (-)
Reversing light (+)
Clearance light (+)
Does anyone know what port each wire would go into? I know signal is port 41.

You’re gonna either need an rzy harness for around $125 or you can wire it yourself and then you will either need a new door harness or to run your own wires in the door harness to the mirror plug
So the way you have it wires right now, it's only for running lights and not turn signals?

So all you did was run new wires from the mirror harness to the factory door harness? I have a 2017 silverado and will swapping out the mirrors pretty soon. I'm guessing my truck has the factory pinned harness?
jorge rios Ran wires through the door harness to the pins you see in the video. Again this was for my aftermarket mirrors. Big thing as you know is making sure your truck is pinned and if you even need to run wires based on your mirrors that are being added. When I did this I had the early production aftermarket mirrors, things may have changed.

I've traced the wires and ordered the pins...stay tuned for a video coming out...I plan on hooking up tow mirrors on my 2015 Sierra..it is pre-wired to the door connector.

So I Got the pins off ebay from Europe, Now the cargo lamp and the marker lamp work until I plug in the door panel. With the door panel plugged in it pops the marker lamp fuse.
Brad Larsen how did you fix this issue? I have the same problem on the right side. The market lamp fuse goes out.
Installed everything and blew fuse 29…took mirror apart to check and found running lights pin #1and power fold pin #4 are crimped together inside mirror causing short when power mirror switch plugged in…I cut out the crimp and wired the two wires separately. Replaced fuse and plugged everything back in and it’s all working good now. If you got the mirror from A1 Auto they are now aware of the manufacturing problem and will replace the mirror at no cost.

I have a 2016 Silverado HD Duramax High Country. Came with the full function small mirrors, power folding, turn signals, memory seats. My dealer ordered the chrome power folding tow mirrors from GM along with the wiring harness (L)23241465 (R)23241469 (L) harness23171564 (R) harness23171567. Will this be plug and play? Thank you for your help and the informative videos. Didn't knoe who else to ask. No one else seems to know..
Did that all end up being plug and play? I didn’t see you get an answer and am trying to research this identical issue. My truck came with the mirrors installed, but they won’t fold or reverse tilt. So I’m trying to see if maybe the wrong harness is installed.

I really need your help where to connect those two red wires 9 & 11 behind the door and to which harnes.

Ohad Bendavid The wires 9 and 11 go from the terminals I am showing straight to the tow mirrors wiring. In this video I am running aftermarket tow mirrors and the wires for the lights were already exposed. I am sorry I won’t be able to help much as I have since sold the truck. Beat me to the punch. Link is in the description. You'll want six encase you mess up. You need four.
Does it just push in there and that's it or does it require solder or a special tool?
You crimp the wire to the pin and the pin pushes into the connector. I used needle nose pliers. Took a good bit of force but it snaps in. Make sure you put the pin in the right way. Just use the other pins already on the connector for reference.

I'm not sure why but everything works but the power fold.. my original mirrors on my Denali had power fold and it worked just fine before
Was highly disappointed I had to take the door panels off just to swap mirrors to find out nope won't plug and play
