I really appreciate this video! Very thorough and no filler talk. I bought this game and wasn't looking forward to starting it cause they can be so overwhelming for the first little bit. (I've been feeling burned out) So glad I found your video before starting.

I guess I'm going to restart AGAIN since I didn't get the train intro. Definitely choosing explorer this time.
I have heard from a couple folks that the skip intro button was automatically on when they started their game. Bug!
For New comers, I'd recommend, This:
Race- Human (They get a small boost in crafting speed)
Profession- Explorer (Movement speed boost is great, staring new... since mount's are pricey and require story advancement)
Starting Keepsake: Riches (gives you a small gold boost every night.)
Frist Friend/Romance: Lynn (Her keepsake, is great for the mines... you'll need a lot of stone and ore. Throughout the game)
Starting Crops: Wheat and Green-root. (Both take 4 Day's, are cheap, and used for meals. Which sell for a lot, as well has boost your mana and health.)
Second weeks Crop's- Carrot's, Onions and Potato's (Turn carrot's into juice, at a juicer and you get a decent, easy to make mana potion. Use it with onions and potato's, at a cooking pot. To make creamy beef soup, which boost defence. It's also Lynn's favorite meal)
Weapon- Crossbow. Fight from a range and from cover. XD (Great for making up for your low health and mana. Plus, you can forge a sword at anytime.)
Final Advice- Play the game at your own place, no need to rush it. Have fun and do what you want. XD
Ps- This guide video, is wonderful and simple to follow. I'd recommend you share it with your friends... Who might also be interested in Sun-Haven.

I really did pick the right one for me when I picked elf and spell caster. I spent a lot of time reading them b4 I chose, and I definitely do not regret it.

Great Guide. Was debating on what to buy on the current winter sale with farming sim tag. This game looks simple and organized. So what happens if you die in combat?
I'm also looking at "Travellers Rest" and "Spiritfarer" game. I'll give this game a try. Still expensive at 15% off, but I guess its expected on newer games to not have a big discount until like 3+ yrs later.
Hi John! Thanks so much! ☺️ When you die in combat or stay up past midnight you pass out and wake up in the hospital there above the General Store. Dr. Wornhardt will charge you a fee based on how many coins are in your wallet.
Traveller's Rest I think is also still in early access, but Spiritfarer is complete- so if you are looking for a adventure that is more polished definitely go Spiritfarer.

You got this John! I just got a guide out for ya today for how to deal with he pesky dragon and crop situation.
You can date everyone at once, but can only marry one. We're expecting a romance update before full release (1.0).
Is there anything you can miss in game if you don’t do it by year 1?
I’ve played Stardew valley before, and there’s a few cutscenes you can miss if you don’t do them year 1. For example sams beach cut scene where he talks about his dad, you can’t get that past year 1 since his dad comes back at the start of year 2.
Is there any cutscene or event you can miss completely in sun haven if you don’t do it by a certain time?
Sun haven feels like Stardew valley on steroids to me, so I’m assuming there will be a few similar things like yearly events and such.
Nope! You are good to play at your own pace. That's the awesome part of Sun Haven- no rush.

Oh man, choices, I like both the human crafting perk and also the Amair chance to get health when attacking, but at the same time I don't want to play as a human or even a Amair, but I really want the perk that gives a chance to get health when you attack, but at the same time I really like the faster crafting time. BLA!
So many skill options! Something that has always killed me is big skill trees and figuring out how to spend points because there is so much and just from the quick look most look so good. Any suggestions on how to speck skill points, should I max one skill at a time in each tree or spread them out and what skills are good for beginning, middle and end game... you see my problem lol.
I know right! If it helps I typically go Human since I don't know the data for the Amari healing. And, I ended up leveling all perks to 100% by using elixirs and skill tomes. 👍
@@RosealynGaming I really like the look of that crafting bonus, bla that means I have to play a human, oh well.
I know we can max out skills but my problem is how to spend points as I go lol, what to prioritize first and so forth.
You can always change your looks and race at the Salon later.
@@RosealynGaming To bad you can't change the face a bit, like I don't know different kinds of smiles. Can you add wings to your toon later, without changing your race and losing your buff that is?
Wings are unique to each class, so you would have to change race.
I know the developer has chosen to keep characters gender neutral, however is there a nice selection of options in character creation for someone to create more masculine characters?
Absolutely! They do have beard options and a ton of clothing options to suit your fancy. ☺️

I just bought this game for the 1.0 release, and I'm so glad I found this video! I was a bit confused with character creation alone. I'm not a min-maxer, but when choosing a profession, would there be any purpose in taking items over a permanent stat boost?
Glad you're here! Starting out, no. I personally use Explorer or Human nowadays.
@@RosealynGaming good to know! Do you think the human racial perk is the most helpful? I really wanted to be an elemental, but I ended up going Amari since regaining some health in battle sounded good.
I think it is definitely the strongest of the perks.
I hate that a year later I am just starting the game and the professions literally have no descriptions, just shows icons of what you start with as if a new player is supposed to know what the hell the icons mean when the only obvious one is some gold coins.
That totally sucks!
@@RosealynGaming Haha, yeah, but I'll figure it out. What DOES totally suck is this game has the same old 'you pass out' after a certain time feature that I hate. Very first night in Sun Haven and i am literally standing NEXT to my bed in my house and I pass out and end up in the hospital. Come on now. I was literally in my house next to my bed. Some common sense developer!
I feel the same way about stamina restrictions! I have so much more fun when I don't have to worry about passing out from doing too much and not paying attention.
