I am a child of the 50's now 78 years old the movie seems really true to life, Elvis took some real abuse even from other main stream singers who spoke out against him like Sinatra who later said Elvis was a good friend who changed American culture. Few people know what a humanitarian he was, and that's why you will find an Elvis statue in every major country in the world. Thanks for your reaction to a man who I saw twice and will never get over.

Elvis was a Rising Star already and didn't need The Colonel. That's why in the scene Elvis scoffs at the Colonel when he says " There'd be no Elvis". The Colonel doesn't know how to work the crowd or even judge good music. He was a good promoter for the 50s and that's it.
Elvis was a 💫 in his own right he most probably never really needed major promotion back then… he was always going to be a worldwide success!

Elvis followed the Col to do the movies in the 60's. Could have been competing w the British Invasion. After the 68 special, Elvis could have hire anyone to book dates and projects.
Interesting, I agree. Austin does not particularly look like Elvis, his young voice is deeper than Elvis's was especially in the 50s/ early 60s and yes physique differences but there are plenty of impersonations our there. This young man looks like a very talented actor and he put in so much work and even from the trailers and listening to his interviews you can see how much this role means to him. Difficult to criticise him.

He actually performed here in Vancouver Canada in 1957 my dad was there said Elvis only lasted 20 minutes as he was chased by thousands of girls . Of course there was a car waiting for him he never came back again .

ELVIS was G rated compared to what they do today! I urge you to watch "THE ELVIS CHRONICLES"! You can see the impact of his music and life on todays modern Rock! Col. Tom Parker was crook! He stole half of ELVIS' money! I enjoyed your reaction! You also should watch the documentary "ELVIS AND THE BLACK COMMUNITY"! It is very enlightening!!!

Yes, that shot from the back where E is acknowledging the crowd and the flash bulbs are going - always gives me chills. That bit is the real footage!!
The only real elvis part is at the end where he's in the white outfit playing the piano and singing.
