I thought Sargon had a very multifaceted and intricate interplay of contextual parameters within the complex tapestry of interconnectivity yielding a profound confluence of emergent synergies, paving the way for an unprecedented epistemological paradigm shift. By transcending traditional boundaries and harnessing the inexorable forces of ontological dynamism, Sargon embarked upon a journey of relentless exploration and boundless possibilities, unraveling the enigmatic intricacies of the social fabric. In this ethereal realm of intellectual discourse, Sargon's cognitive prowess converges with the ineffable mysteries of the universe, guiding us towards an elusive crescendo of profound wisdom and inscrutable enlightenment. And stuff.

Fair point made by Sargon about suspension of disbelief. I mean... demigod wizards, rings that turn you invisible and sentient trees are all just part of the history and the culture of Britain. Putting anything we perceive as 'non-British' in there just completely spoils the brew. And it's not just about race, either. I mean, it's about the lengths the original cast and crew went to make Lord of the Rings feel authentically British. That's why it was filmed in New Zealand by a New Zealander, scored by a Canadian, produced by companies from New Zealand and USA, and featured prominent British actors like Viggo Mortensen, Liv Tyler, Elijah Wood and Sean Astin. So no, it's got nothing *whatsoever* to do with anti-black racism. It's all about preserving traditional British folklore, which as we all know was written in the 1950s by a bloke from South Africa.

Contrary to his whining, taking him out of context is probably the only thing that could possibly help him sound like he made a point that supported his actual position.
Damn. From what Sargon of Akkad has said it sounds like Amazon spent a lot of money producing a TV show based on a beautiful and rich literary series full of in depth world building and well thought out lore. Sargon of Akkad has really sold me on Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power releasing exclusively on Amazon Prime on September 2nd.
Actually they were only have the rights to a small chunk of story, which is why they're making up a bunch of woke filler while riding on the name Lord Of The Rings. Same old story really
I was trying to piece together Erik’s motivations for making this video throughout it, came up with a few theories. But a plausible one is that he literally just wanted to put the least amount of effort into holding Sargon’s attention for as long as possible to draw out the discussion, because he finds it extremely funny for all the people upset at the show to talk about it so much it gets popular.
"Everyone in my book is the palest white. There are no black people in the entire world." - Tolkien apparently (can't find this quote anywhere but I guess Sargon did?)
I'm on a rewatch for exactly that reason. He's so grating, but his waffling turns to white noise in well less than a full sentence. And cos it's at low volume, I don't have to hear those weird, off-putting mouth sounds (lip-smacking, breathing, saliva, etc.). "It's about cultural sensitivity, Erik..." "That's me!" Classic.
It’s how the British got an Empire. About an hour in to any meeting with local people they would have had their will to resist bled out through the power of this style of gormless twaddle.
Erik's got a point: the best way to show how fucking pointless Sargon's opinion is is just letting him speak. The sarcastic cut aways are just cherries on top
I kinda disagree. Ended up just giving him a platform to exercise his rhetoric. He's very good at twisting and manipulating. He takes the very notion of not liking racism (a radical position apparently) and needs to spend 47 minutes trying to make it sound like it's coming from the real racists. He should have either ignored it or asked someone with a better sense of rhetoric to respond because the guy's spiel is rife with very simple stuff to pick apart. @@akosbarati2239 He is also wrong because reality is a story itself. The events of a period of time, a war or some conflict are all stories with no authors
@@xXEGPXx Well, reality is "a story" because humans are driven to make everything into narratives. We group and cut and edit and excise to make things "fit" into stories. In a sense, there *is* then an author to these things, but the most key part of all of that is that what we draw from those stories is informed by all of us as _consumers_ of those stories. The story of history is told by everyone who experienced it, everyone who then read or wrote about it, etc: and they don't all have the same idea of what that story is or was. Which is what "Death of the author" is actually about: abandoning the notion of "ultimate correct meaning based on authorial intent" in favour of acknowledging that meaning is complicated and defined by all of the perceptions brought to a text. So in the most literal of senses, he's right: stories don't exist without someone writing them. I'm...just not sure how important or useful that point is (I don't think anyone in the history of everything has particularly denied the fact that stories come from storytellers). He completely, entirely misses the fact that when one reads, one brings their own perspective to it and thus consumes it differently from others--including the original author, whom they can never "be" enough to meaningfully read "as" or "through" them. It's like linguistic prescriptivists, who live in a fantasy world where words have definitive meanings that are inalienable, and crave an authority to tell them this or that is the "correct" understanding of a word or story. As with his misunderstanding of "Death of the author", this is actually quite ironic for a self-described atheist, having that desperate need for definitive authorities who can strike down alternative understandings by fiat in some sort of cosmic law of meaning.

It doesn't really look like you are in a different place because guess what? All places have the same mixtures of races. Neither Sargon nor other critics think that there shouldn't be black people but that it should convey the scale and the different races and places. I mean in the new season of Rings of Power they had the opportunity to make the bad wizard an Arab or something similar and of all people they cast a white actor??? These people I tell you. You are just making the same tired excuses that tells these people that the slop they produce is acceptable. It's not. It's obviously woke garbage. One of the biggest problems is that they write women like they write men. Apparently Hollywood thinks that femininity is inherently less desirable for their heroines. Especially when you cast someone that light and not physically imposing you really can see how accomodating the stuntmen are. All fight scenes just look like stuntmen fighting themselves.

Actually they were only have the rights to a small chunk of story, which is why they're making up a bunch of woke filler while riding on the name Lord Of The Rings. Same old story really
Lmfao so true
I was trying to piece together Erik’s motivations for making this video throughout it, came up with a few theories. But a plausible one is that he literally just wanted to put the least amount of effort into holding Sargon’s attention for as long as possible to draw out the discussion, because he finds it extremely funny for all the people upset at the show to talk about it so much it gets popular.
are you actually degenerate enough to watch amazon productions? CONSOOMER mode engaged
"Everyone in my book is the palest white. There are no black people in the entire world." - Tolkien apparently (can't find this quote anywhere but I guess Sargon did?)
The title of the book is actually “Magical White People’s Fun Adventures, No Melanin Please,” not a lot of people know this.
@@ruthie8785thanks for the info 😂
Far out. Sargon is definitely a "cure" for insomnia. It's ironic, considering how obsessed he is about woke people.
I'm on a rewatch for exactly that reason. He's so grating, but his waffling turns to white noise in well less than a full sentence. And cos it's at low volume, I don't have to hear those weird, off-putting mouth sounds (lip-smacking, breathing, saliva, etc.).
"It's about cultural sensitivity, Erik..."
"That's me!"
Classic.
This comment needs more likes.
Very punny
Love that all you guys had the same experience 😂
It’s how the British got an Empire. About an hour in to any meeting with local people they would have had their will to resist bled out through the power of this style of gormless twaddle.
Personally, I'm impressed with Sargon.
He refrained from smelling his own farts for the entire stream.

Erik's got a point: the best way to show how fucking pointless Sargon's opinion is is just letting him speak.
The sarcastic cut aways are just cherries on top
Also, the cut offs underlines just how scatter-(I-hesitate-calling-it)-brained he actually is.
Though ultimately I guess that's not what Erik does, but if that's the case then perhaps basically reuploading him isn't the smartest thing either.
@@mamayareborn I'm sure you can find some excuse for why Rings Of Power fails, despite most people apparently not sharing Carl's issue with what is obviously a cynical race baiting marketing tactic
Erik trolled Sargon into rambling for god knows how long about absolutely nothing of value and it's hysterical. Sargon seems like the type of person who has always assumed he's the smartest in the room so he never actually learned anything. I just threw my head back and laughed, he is literally British Joe Rogan holy fucking shit 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Is "Sargon of Akkad" even from were the Akkadian empire was? I prefer my characters to be accurately portrayed instead of some bloke pretending to be a great ruler.
