shivondevi have you tried Valencia, I used to wear Syracuse too and I felt darker on my skin and I recently checked their shades and found this shade Valencia, don’t know when this one came but it’s kinda between Syracuse and Tahoe..

I love this foundation but I got matched at Sephora and it was too dark. Thankfully it was just a sample! Definitely wanting to pick up a lighter shade!

Girl, you’ll never not be helpful. You still have the benchmark of where your skin used to be so I think most of your viewers would still trust your opinion on wether or not a foundation would be good for oily skin.
Oh and the foundation isn’t meant to be be sheer or glowy. It’s meant to give your skin a “sheer glow.” It’s one of my faves on oily skin! Keep up the great work!

I’m still wearing Nars now for about 10 years.
NARS has one shade that comes the closest to my skin tone. I’m a light (leaning somewhat towards fair but not really) neutral olive, and most of the foundations that I’ve used have turned too orange/yellow or left my face looking deathly ashy. Salzburg is the most closest match. The pump isn’t that expensive, it’s $6. My favorite part about this foundation is that it helps improve your skin, and I can already see some of that now after a couple weeks. My skin is much more smoother and it looks almost flawless once I apply it. Definitely apply that with your fingertips, and tap it in instead of just swiping it and rubbing your face.

I love this foundation, i’m just sad that yesterday morning I did my makeup super early in a hurry. I’m not sure if it was my heater in my room or I applied a bit to much from being tired. I moisturized and didn’t set my whole face with powder just my under eyes and I kid you not my whole face looked extremely dry like if I set it with a ton of powder. I wanted to cry I sprayed setting spray twice but I do not like a dry matte face what so ever. Has this ever happened to you?

I hear you girl. I’ve had oily skin since 16 and when I turned 40 it just normalised and I’m totally confused lol. Anyways at least we don’t wrinkle quick 😉 hugs from South Africa
I am no longer really oily either but I think its due to the weather! I am just trying to adjust with my primer lately.
This is my favourite foundation formula! It works so amazing on my dry skin, but I do bake my forehead when I wear this because it does become shiny after several hours in that area. My only issue with this is that I can't find my perfect match with a yellow undertone (and really wish they'd extend the shade range) and the fact that it comes with no pump, yet they don't have them at Sephora.

@@samanthajaneyt I got a few samples! The shades work better, but anywhere that I have dry patches it ends up looking super cakey, even with a sponge and using a tiny amount :(

It might just be the weather. My skin gets confused when it gets cold outside for a few weeks. It goes back to its oily self after a while. As you get older it’ll get less oily tho.

Sheer Glow was the first higher end (non-drugstore) foundation that I ever tried, and it was the first foundation that actually matched my yellow/golden undertone. I do have oily skin and Sheer Glow does slightly accentuate that, but I still love it. Although it does have silicone and my skin is sensitive, it, surprisingly, doesn't break me out. I still reach for SG every day; it's a classic and a must-try.

I may not give this foundation a try, but the longer wear radiant sounds promising. I have oily skin I and am currently using Estée Lauder double wear, which I love, but I tend to get stuck in ruts with makeup. It did look better at the end of the day. Thanks for the review.
Funny but I just picked up sheer glow for the first time too. I've tried probably the majority of drug store and high end foundations over the last few years. Of all the foundations I've seen you try. This one is absolutely the perfect shade, not to heavy. Just perfect, now I'm excited to try, we also are the same shade. I'm a little darker than you. omg!! the oily skin change to dry skin happened to me too when I turned 24 and I took having oily skin for granted, I wish I could get my oily skin back it is SO hard to work with dry skin 😭
It's ok that your skin isn't as oily. It's probably the time of year,. I'm also ridiculously oily during the spring/summer. But right now my skin is dry to normal, I even had to switch to thicker moisturizers and change my skin care routine.

I can relate so much with your comment on not being as oily as you were. I'm watching you for a really long time, primarily because I had a really oily skin. Had. Because of you I almost started my blog about oily skin but time passed and my skin started changing. 2 years ago it just started getting less and less oily, and now in winter my skin is normal to dry. However, I still love watching you since I live in Croatia and summers can be tough with humidity and I know I can always count on your recommendations. Keep on going, you'll figure it all out. Meni se koža zimi potpuno promijeni. Ljeti mi je mješovita, a zimi normalna pa čak i pomalo suha. Baš mi to ide na živce, zato jer mi puder ljeti izgleda odlično, a zimi očajno. Još nikako nmg pronaći točnu boju za zimu, baš sam neke sreće.

Ali meni zimi koža izgleda fantastično a ljeti kaos jer se nikako ne znam prilagodit zbog toga što sam sad zavoljela bit sjajna i onda ljeti ne mogu naći dobar balans (dan mi najčešće traje 12+ sati). I ja znam zimsku nijansu, dok ih ljeti barem 4 promijenim pa glumim alkemičara s puderima hahaha
@@ivahacka ajmee ja nakon što sam kupila 5-6 krivih pudera, otisla sam u MACu i teta mi je pronašla ljetnu boju NC20. A od jeseni do zime svaki drugi tjedan mijenjam boju, pa tu stalno nešto miješam ali nisam zadovoljna. Mislim da ću opet morati u MACu da mi teta pronađe boju za zimu. Najvjerojatnije sam NC15 ili nešto između.
@@donatella4536 dobra ideja! Ja inace užasno ne volim tražit te cure/žene u dućanima da mi pomognu jer trgovcima jako teško kažem ne hahahaha ali imam neko vjenčanje iduce godine u listopadu i morat cu otic njih tražit pomoc. Jao drži mi fige :D

The same is happening to my skin - I'm chalking it up to getting older and the weather where I live because my skin does slightly drier in the winter anyways. This year, however, it's WAY less oily and more combo (somedays even normal-ish). Slightly more convenient since it does allow me to try foundations that I couldn't try before :)

My skin is also doing weird things right now. I used to be quite combo/ just super dehydrated. Now I’m leaning oilier but foundation still sits like my skin is dry? My Estée Lauder double wear isn’t looking as good as it used to and I’m so happy to watch this series to try and maybe find a new one 😅

I use Cotz SPF 40 tinted under this foundation and it lasts the whole day! And I live in a really humid country. Best foundation ever!
Don’t worry about it. I’ve seen other girls that have oily skin they use certain foundations that you will not think is good for oily skin and it has been good for their skin. So you are still doing a good job 😘

Oily af skin here on tropical weather, fiji shade, nc25 on Mac . Even though this foundation makes my skin extremely oily I love how it looks on my skin, it doesn't separate or look cakey. Downside I have to blot and apply translucent powder all day long but still looks good.
When applying I also note patchiness in certain areas but with some Mac fix+ they disappear.

Jess Rm how does this perform with a matte primer ? I'm wondering because I'm normal and in Mediterranean weather and I'll get oily at the 4 hour mark usually.

I used to use Sheer Matte, but that's long been discontinued. Sheer Glow is more for dry skin, but you can wear it if you take the tack that the reason that your skin is over producing oil is because it is not getting enough moisture. Syracuse is my shade match, although I tried Valencia in the Natural Radiant foundation as it's a closer match to my chest. A mix of the two would probably be perfect.
I forgot about the Sheer Matte! I love the longwear radiant!
After your video, I tried a sample from Sephora. I had some issue with the foundation around my chin area. It kinda disappeared in a few hours though I didn't see much transfer on my hands, etc. What I liked about it is how lightweight it was. It gave me light coverage but definitely evened out my skintone. I will try it with a setting powder and see how it goes!
I do enjoy 12 days of foundation 😊Have NARS natural radiant foundation and it’s ok . But I get oily after 2 hours.

Jackie Chester you should really try oil blotting sheets! They take off the oil without removing your makeup

Estée Lauder double wear is my ride or die when it comes to liquid foundation. I mentioned to the sales associate at the counter about the fact that everyone wants a pump and she said that they sell a separate pump now....so I was a sucker and spent the extra $12 for the pump BUT the pump doesn’t work very well at all!!!! What a bummer 😕
O use MAC pump on my ELDW, and it works perfectly! :)
It looks beautiful. I purchased it online, and I haven’t used it yet. I’m new to using makeup and not sure how to figure out my shade, especially when buying online. I bought the shade Barcelona BUT I’m worried it’s going to be too orange/peachy. I really just want some light coverage that looks very natural. Make up kind of scares me lol but I’m determined to figure it out.

Interesting Fact: the name sheer glow means that it's going to GIVE YOU a sheer glow when you put it on.
Also, I've seen so many people using this foundation with their hands, and that seems to be the preferred method that Francois Nars recommends, so I'm interested in trying it myself!
Most Nars foundations are made to apply with your hands. Your body heat makes it spread more evenly. I apply by dabbing it all over my face before buffing with a face brush.

I am 42 and I have dry skin. I love sheer glow. My shade is "Gobi." I dislike that it does not come with a pump. NARS produces great face products. Try the liquid blush. Dolce Vita would be stunning on you.

This is one of my favs! I usually just buy the pump at NARS. It’s like $6. I must say I wasn’t impressed with Doublewear. It wasn’t matte at all and I’m not that oily. Also, Lancôme...was also a no. A lot of shades but I just can’t seem to find mine and that’s also not matte. Well, not on my skin.

Idk why but this foundation always looks patchy on me unless I apply with my fingers, other than that I do enjoy how it looks on my skin. Just a lil miffed that I can’t use a sponge or a brush :/

Your sk8n is changing due probably because of the wellness of your eating habits ,weight loss etc. It's Great! Sooo we ladies do what we do and if your skin isn't oily any more.. next normal to oily. .lol so don't get crazy. .it's absolutely a good thing. Your skin has been looking great!

Aw, sweetie. You're still you, no matter your skin type💖💗. As a woman our hornones do weird things to all of us, including our skin lol. I was oily with skin like a rhino my whole life until menopause and then, wham, straight into dry and sensitive. Medication can do funky things to our skin too. Thanks for all your hard work ❤️

Guys if u have extremely oily skin u can use the ordinary vitamin c powder just mix it with ur regular moisturizer and u can do ur makeup trust me it's gonna make ur face oil free all day and it will make any kind of acne scars fade in few weeks and it will brighten ur skin aswell

I just purchased this one, and this is my first time I see your videos. I think that you may have applied way too much and that's why it might look cake-ie. I purchased it with the pump, and the lady that sold it to me specifically told me that it should be applied with your fingers for a more smoother blending. Also, one pump should be enough for your whole face. with that being said, I just got it, so I'll have to give it a few days and see if I like it. but a LITTLE BIT goes a LONG way
Lina A I always build it up a little more than I normally would in my reviews to show potential coverage but I’ve tested it several ways with different amounts, application methods etc - I like it I just don’t love it as much as some of my other products!

Hi Sam. I've had oily skin all my life so I can understand where you're coming from. I haven't tried Nars GLO. I guess oily and glow don't go together in my book. The foundation looks really nice. The big question is break through and can it look good ALL day.

It looked like you could have just worn this foundation, maybe a slight dust of powder, mascara, and lip gloss and head out the door for an errands makeup look lol. Looked so natural yet had pretty decent coverage. Lancome is still in the lead, but this might come in second or third? haha
