Whassup Good People!!!! How yall doin?!? So glad to finally get a video up for ya.. As promised here is my IN DEPTH review on the NARS sheer glow foundation. SURPRISINGLY it's not a holy grail foundation for me, but it's not because of the formula or wear at all, it's the undertone (this shade was the closest to my shade/undertone). C Key I can definitely see the difference between the 2. once u mix the 2 it looks great!
C Key Bbeen using it for 2 years and realised that I had to go with a slightest shade so that when it oxidises, it fits perfectly. I think you should try it. #myhumbletwocents
C Key I also noticed that the shades alternate. Go lower and ensure you choose the lower "golden" shade #goodluck #NARSaddict

I have used NARS. I like it because it has a nice range of shades. I wear Barcelona. I must agree the NARS side did look darker.
Tbh I love the NARS side the most 😍 it looks so natural and soft and it blends perfectly with your concealer shade 😍😍😍
Nars foundation run Yellow/olive for indian and island, mediterranean skin tones. i actually love the color range 😍😍 The Nars side was still darker on you at the end . And the name put me off at first too, but "Sheer glow" refers to a small amount of glow.
I love this foundation because of the olive tone it matches my skin tone perfectly. The foundation does oxidize and the tone will change if you don't have an olive skin tone. You are golden...yellow and green together will give a dull look. Love your videos!
The all Nars side is darker, that is all. It doesn't look dull. That full Nars side also looks warmer. The mixture side looks brighter. That's the only difference I see. I actually like the Nars side better to be honest. Either way you look gorgeous.
Agree! The only Nars side looks better to me on camera. Maybe it looks different in person but looks really nice on camera

I literally had the same problem and figured it out today! I was loving the formula but at the same time was feeling "gray" and dull, too. I went in because I'm almost out and tried a different color and it made such a difference! I normally swatch them myself, but this time I asked a Sephora girl for another opinion. We settled on a shade and I realized I was picking out the wrong undertone. By watching this, the side with just the Sheer Glow looks too dark on you. The other side is noticeably brighter. Macao is in the medium-dark category...try a different shade in the medium-dark spectrum with a different undertone or maybe a lighter shade with the same undertone. I'm Asian and assumed I was under the yellow category so I went with Medium Punjab but it ended up Medium Santa Fe with peachy undertone looked brighter on me. Punjab actually appeared more tan even though it's in the Medium spectrum like Santa Fe. It was all in the undertone for me. It made a world of difference. My sister thought I looked more alive. I feel so much better, I look brighter and I'm so happy I decided to try a different shade.

I just bought this foundation a few weeks ago and been wearing it since. It was around the time the fenty released. I thought I like the fenty and end up hating it. I’m in my early 30s and this foundation just really compliments my skin and makeup look. It’s prefect and I love it. Also perfects shade as well for me. I’m medium dark(south East Asian) and the shade for me perfect.
It may sound weird but to me on camera it looks like the side you mixed with the clinique looks more grey then the side with the nars alone, just my opinion but of course as always your makeup is on point and you can pull of anything girl!
Had the same experience with Macao. By end of day I almost screamed at what it turned into. Grayish/olive/entirely too deep a yellow undertone.

That's it! I felt that way with my NARS All Day Luminous. Closest shade was Macao, but where I thought it would have a yellow or golden undertone, it pulled green on me. That's what kept me from purchasing the Sheer Matte I wanted to try.
I absolutely love nars sheer glow and I used the color Macao, which I like because it is more on the neutral side, not that extra orange or red, I find in so many foundations. It's looks really good on you but I think your undertone is definitely more golden. I love nars products, shame on them for not providing a pump. I paid an extra 6 dollars for one. Wow listening to you say the Nars side looks dull trips me out because I keep telling my doctor that since my skin has changed due to illness and chemo. I have more of an olive tone now and to me my skin looks dull as compared to when I had a much warmer undertone. But looking at you it doesn't look dull to me, it just looks beautiful. I should stop saying that about myself. 🤔🤔😬 I was in Sephora the other day and she recommended Nars because of the undertone being more Olive or golden. They didn't have my shade match in the Nars. I tried Clinique's and it was too warm and was just too red on me. I needed something way cooler. But per the uge... Thank you for your honesty!! Love you Sis! ❤
JoAnna Johnson olive skin is definitely more muted and cool than golden or peach toned skin; I sometimes feel like I look a bit gray ish with my green hues...but olive skin is still very beautiful. All undertones are gorgeous in different ways; I am glad she helped you see that..she looks stunning in both the olive and the mix and I am sure your skin is gorgeous as well.
I ALWAYS go back to this foundation after i try new ones. So far not found anything greater than nars sheer glow. I tried the all day luminous but it oxidised too much.
I'm happy you said that because I have the same color and I feel like my face looks gray when it's set.

Hi Crystal, excellent review honey. I noticed the difference, it is flatter looking when you just used the NARS foundation by itself. However it still looked really good, I will be giving this foundation a try for sure.

I really didn't see a difference. If you hadn't said anything about it being different I would just have thought you used a tad more concealer on the combined side.

I laughed when I saw you use the seat protector to blot. As a MUA, I have been using those on the fly to blot for years. I bought them in bulk on Amazon, took off the middle portion, and tuck it into my client's collars to protect their clothes!

I'm so glad you did this review! I noticed that the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation was a smidge off in color but couldn't figure it out. I'm going to try mixing it with a few different golden foundations to see if that brings a lift. Thank you for sharing and great video as always!!
This is an outstanding review and comparison video. I plan to purchase the NARS Sheer Glow in Macao soon. I now know how to make it work if it's dull on my skin. I already own MAC Studio Finish in NC45, so I may end up mixing the two. Thanks CKey❣️
I just bought the Macao shade myself - specifically for the golden undertone because I do NOT like red in my foundations. But honey... when I put it on my face, it did look flat - almost a bit mustard like - on my skin. But I still rocked with it anyway for my interview. And I got the job so heeeeyyyy. Praise God! Guess it didn't look too crazy - ha! But still, I was wondering what I could mix the Sheer Glow with to liven it up at bit. I will take your suggestion. Thank you - and welcome back :-)
Ckey, I see that on the NARS side it looked Nice when you placed the Blk Radiance setting power over it. The mixed side looks irregular to me.
You’re right the left side is more golden..thereby making you look more lively

Yeah I like the mixed side better. It's just something off with the NARS alone. NARS side looks darker and you are right duller.

I use Macao and it works perfect on my skin. Trinidad might work better for you since you are golden but you have more yellow in your undertone.
when i first bought nars sheer glow, it looked weird on me and i hated it lol so i gave it a break and started using it again and now its my favorite
I tried a sample of this in New Guinea & I had the same issue that it gave me a grayish tinge, especially around the mouth & bottom of my face.

I wish fair shades came with olive undertones. I'm quite fair (I used to be an NC35 but I lost a lot of pigment due to a genetic disorder and now I'm an NC15-20). I have an olive undertone but I'm forced to use foundation with yellow undertones because it's the closest I can get. I wear the shade Gobi in NARS Sheer Glow.

Dalai Mami I have the exact same issue with my skin and appreciate the undertone of the Nars. I have a more Olive undertone now as compared to my warmer undertone I used to have before illness. Nars has other undertones. I just had this whole conversation with a Sephora rep.
I would try the Nyx or CoverFX pigment drops in a highly olive tone and add it to your favorite foundation formula. It's extremely rare for someone to have olive undertones who is very fair, so I don't think a cosmetic company would find it cost effective to produce.

I can not see a difference. It all looks great. I have the foundation in New Orleans and I get so many compliments when wearing it. I think you should just rock it alone!
I can totally see a huge difference. The nars side doesn't look dull IMO but it does look orangy. The other side matches u better. That's all I see. But the wig is so freakin nice!!
OMG! I've been searching for a video to explain why I didn't like this foundation. I tried it on my face twice but it was just off to me in color. Real dull and flat. I have a lot of gold undertones and this foundation made me look like the life had been sucked out of me. I am taking it back. I think Macao is just a little to dark and the color before it is to light.

I definitely could tell a difference between the 2 sides but it wasn't bad just flat, almost shadowy (if that makes sense). Nice video but I will pass on the sheer glow foundation. 😏

I think it looks good on its own.
I think both sides look great even though the NARS foundation is a bit too dark and doesn't match your undertone. I have the same problem when I wear colors that are too warm.
You have an amazing skin to start with. I have never used either of them but it works on you in my humble opinion.

try one shade up.. It just looks darker and bit more red so it "drags" your face down...
BTW do you think the BH orange corrector would work for 5 o'clock beard cover?
This was the closest to my shade/undertone not interested in re-shopping lol... The BH corrector is pretty awesome, I did a separate video on it :)

I do see a difference. I'm a MAC NC50 and the girls at NARS told me to get Macao. I did and wore it the next day and yes it was very olivey lol so I went back and got New Guinea instead because I do like a little warmth to my foundation. You should try that shade.

I remember Macao looking red on me, even though it's supposed to have s green undertone. But you're right. Golden foundation makes the skin look so vibrant!
