thanks for the amazing review! i love that you do a wear test. i have oily/combo acne prone skin and i just finished the nars sheer glow foundation… i loved the coverage altho i found that it got super oily around my nose… i was contemplating between nars natural radiant longwear and dior backstage foundation so your previous reviews on those foundations helped a lot~ subscribed to your channel ❤

Thanks for the video. I had the same experience with my Nars foundation. It was perfect shade for my skin when I tried it in the store and bought it. Latter on the actual application my face started looking dark till I reached my venue. I will try one lighter tone and see if it’s still the same
The undertone made the difference for me. I fell in love with it and tried it for a week. I went back for Aruba today and definitely love the difference

I also would only choose Nars for foundation if I had to, I recently went back to sheer glow for a wedding and remembered why I loved it so. Only thing is that I wish they range offered more olive green undertones, I also usually wear Syracuse but find it matches best when I mix it.

I got a sample of this to try. I don’t think it’s made for hot climates and for oilier skin. I live in Trinidad so these new dewy and glowy foundations are not ideal for us down here! Lol

Coming back to share- we are usually the same shade but I have much more yellow undertones. I got matched yesterday and in my February no color zone, I am Vanuatu- M3.5. It deepened up A LOT. I love Nars but I would’ve had no idea had I not gotten matched.

Thanks for this review. I really appreciate the wear test shots and the NARS recos at the end. $65 is very steep even for a NARS foundation though. Since the pandemic I rarely wear foundation, only tinted moisturizers. I would love to see more tinted moisturizer (not super light) reviews or sheerer foundation reviews.

I wanted to love this foundation. It looked great when I first put it on but at the end of the day it didn’t hold up for me. I’m taking it back and sticking with Beautigul Skin. I’m giving it one more shot - going to put less on and see what happens, though. It looks awesome on you, however.

Nice! I ordered it a few days ago and still waiting. I have oily combo skin so I hope it works.. if not nars soft matte and the skin tint will be the only nars foundations I will own. I do love the soft matte though so maybe I’ll exchange it if it doesn’t work.

I know nothing about makeup and decided to give it a try. I was color matched at Ulta Beauty and they recommended the Valencia, at home it's too light. I'm going to try this shade/ Syracuse. I'm the same completion as you and also have freckles ☺️

NARS foundation always oxidize on me, I’ve returned every foundation I got from them, I do have the Light Reflecting and I do like it and this one I’m going to keep, 😀

The colors are definitely different. I have Syracuse and feel the same way. I won’t be able to wear it on its own. In other formulas Aruba is listed as med/med deep olive undertone and now it’s listed as cool on this formula. Sucks because I will have to mix shades if I choose to keep it.

I bought this from Sephora and felt that it oxidized! It ended up looked a bit peachy on me (I hate peach undertones) so do you think I should go back for a lighter shade? I'm Caracas.

So, it doesn't 'oxidize' but it does dry down a tad (like a super tiny bit) darker. I'm Cadiz in the other Nars foundations and I'm still Cadiz in this. My experience when putting it on though was that Cadiz looked lighter on me upon application (so I'm kinda glad it dried down a bit darker). This looks gorgeous on you, btw!
Yah that’s why I mentioned both terms, what’s the difference between? What constitutes oxidization? I’m just sad that it isn’t the straight formula to formula match they normally are!
@@samanthajaneyt (Hope I didn't come off as snarky, it's the Biochem major in me!) Oxidation tends to be skin dependent (oiliness, maybe even pH - possibly your moisturizer) as opposed to a general foundation property and happens over hours (so you would look darker in the middle or at the end of the day as opposed to a few minutes later). Dry down is just the time between when you put it on and when it sets on the skin!

I love this foundation but the colors aren’t yellow enough for me, they’re more orange once oxidized. I usually mix it with a fenty one that is super yellow.

Do you always use the CT Filter powder to set? I have to use something heavy duty as I’m so oily. I find that my CT powder doesn’t control my oils at all, so I use it for under eye
Nope I mix it up!! Love it for my undereyes too - I like the too faced Powder Foundation to set

Why is ur neck a complete different shade to ur natural face?
Because it’s part of my body which is all lighter to my face - couldn’t give you a definite reason but perhaps exfoliators on my face
