Bro, Brothers Gibb (and I include youngest brother Andy Gibb) were the Elitest of the Elite. They are without equal, peerless in their songwriting, lyrics, artistry in performance & of course harmonizing--thrir individual voices are all beautiful but very different from each other--the magic is the 3 voices blending to sound like ONE! None of. them can read music yet created perfect 🎵. RIP Andy, Mo, & Robin, many thanks & much love to Sir Barry Gibb❤❤❤❤
32 million units sold - fifth best selling single off all time, and the most airplayed song of all time around the globe ( radio station survey from 2017) and for sure their biggest monster banger and the hallmark of the golden seventies one of the most covered tunes in history - when you are not dancing to this song - you are not stayin alive - your are death 🪦 😂
In 1977 when Stayin’ Alive came and 1979 when Too Much Heaven came out there was no auto tune. It was just raw talent and Bee Gees had tons of it. If you see their live performances you’ll see that they sometimes sounded better than their studio recordings. Unfortunately there aren’t enough live videos from them and you have to make do with their studio recordings. Just keep in mind that there was no auto tune in those days. A fantastic song to appreciate their beautiful falsettos is LOVE YOU INSIDE OUT. ❤❤❤
Suggestions are How Deep is your Love, Jive Talking, You should be dancing, More than a woman, Love you inside and out, Fanny be tender with my love...and that's just a few from the 70s. There's still the late 60s, 80s, 90s and 00s. They started singing together when Barry was 9 and the twins were 6. The movie was Saturday Night Fever.
They had around 100 top 10 songs. They won the life achievement award, twice. They wrote over 1000 songs for OTHER artists. The whole group was knighted and Barry was knighted at individually
The BeeGees were: the tallest and oldest brother (with the big hair and beard), Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Robin Gibb (with the long hair, no beard), born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, and Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (the balding brother with the beard, pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988. The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born. All 4 brothers are just natural musical talents. All of them dropped out of high school in their early teens and none of them could read or write music. All their compositions were created completely organically. Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1966. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin' (and was also actually the first album on which their logo was introduced). From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too ua-cam.com/video/7niXSh7vWRI/v-deo.html Other great songs to analyze: great album tracks from the 1979 Spirits Having Flown album, the title song: ua-cam.com/video/WH_j90fCIk4/v-deo.html, the outrageously beautiful song Reaching Out ua-cam.com/video/vfHUS5Mf00Q/v-deo.html. Andy is my favorite of the brother's Gibb he was very talented in his own right no one can take anything from Andy sadly he passed away at 30 yrs old. love and miss you Andy. R.I.P. I pray he found the peace he longed for on earth but never achieved. awesome reaction.
They wrote and produced all their own music, and I’m not sure if this is true, but their music is sampled more today than I think any other artist, but I could be wrong!
They did the music for the film. And they did an incredible job, made disco more accessible to everyone, then Disco was everywhere.. Took it and ran with it.. There are so many disco songs, but that film opened it up to everyone..
Another great Bee Gees reaction. I know one that you would like they get into a funky Groove on love you inside out... I'm sure you would enjoy that one
The newer generation is finding the Bee Gees. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the Bee Gees are the 2nd most successful songwriters in music history. 3rd on the Billboard Hot 100, 9 straight number 1's, had 5 songs in the top 10 simultaneously in the Spring of 1978. They are the 6th biggest-selling artists of all time. Most of their best songs were never even played on the radio.
These boys started singing when Barry was 9 and his twin brothers 7. There is video out there from Australia when they were young singing on TV. No auto tune, it wasn’t invented. Just 3 brothers who can just sing.
I was married one year (1977) before this was released in 1978. This song would have been in our wedding. Love, love, love the Bee Gees. I am a black female, 68 yrs. old, grew up with them. (A bit lengthy, but a must read.) The Bees Gees: (from left to right) Maurice (pronounced Morris), (Dec 22, 1949 - Jan. 12, 2003.) He passed away as a result of a twisted intestine, (on the 58th birthday of their sister, Lesley, who is the first born of the family.) Barry and Robin also said he had a heart attack, but the doctors still operated. Robin (right) (December 22, 1949 - May 20, 2012) He had the same problem with his intestines. When the doctors went in to fix it, they found cancer. Maurice and Robin were fraternal twins. Andy Gibb, the youngest brother, (not pictured) had his own successful career. He was 12 yrs. younger than Barry. He and Barry looked so much alike, that they could had been twins. Andy passed away in 1988, at the age of 30. He lived a lifestyle involving drugs, and he had heart problems. The brothers, Andy included, wrote all of his songs. Barry (middle) stated, "I am the last man standing." He was born September 1, 1946. He has 5 adult children and 7 grandkids. On September 1, 2023, he and his wife Linda will celebrate their 53rd wedding anniversary. (They were married on his 24th birthday.) On a sidenote, the first born is their sister, Lesley, who was 78, January 12, 2023. Lesley didn't have an interest to be in the limelight, but she can sing. They wrote all of their own songs, and songs for other singers, which they sang after the songs were released for the other singers. Here's the amazing thing, they could not read musical notes. This meant they were also awesome musicians and just played by ear. The brothers have a VERY IMPRESSIVE catalogue of songs! Be sure to get a hold of the classic, smash hit 70s film Saturday Night Fever starring John Travolta. In the film, you’ll hear other Bee Gees tunes. Welcome to the world of reaction videos. It does my heart good to see young people discovering older music. ❤
You have to listen to Tragedy….another good beat like this! This song. D a few others that made it to #1 are from the move Saturday night fever with John Travolta playing the lead
You gotta check out the King of Soul. The legendary Sam Cooke singing "Somebody Ease My Troublin Mind". Sam is the greatest vocal influence on R Kelly, Steve Perry of Journey, Rod Stewart and so many others. You and your listeners will be glad that you did.
Please react to the Bee Gees song Fanny be Tender with my Love. Please react to the Bee Gees song You should Be dancing. The Bee Gees youngest brother Andy Gibb joined them to sing. It is one of the rare times all Four brothers sang together!
When I first heard the beginning of the song on the radio then noticed the voice changing later that I knew they were white! In 1977 I had joined the Navy after dropping out got a GED was homeported on the east coast and saw Saturday Night fever which the radio playing the soundtracks songs brought me in! Not into dancing but the Songs still prefer Rock but when its over the top that don't matter! Even had the clothes and weighed 145 pounds back then and still staying alive! Now enjoy hearing the younger people listening! Has a kid the Everly Brothers got my interest! Also had Chuck Berry and Little Richard! Buddy holly, Hank Williams and Patsy Cline!
There was no auto tune in this time, you had to do it for real. You didn't get as famous as the BeeGees were without tons of talent. That's why not everyone looks like a 10, because at that time you were usually just heard on the radio and only seen in concert, so looks weren't as important. Look at some of the big stars from the 60s and 70s some of them are not very attractive people but they were still famous and had fans chasing them all the time
It’s so sad all the brothers are in heaven except for Barry who’s only one left out out of the four Gibb brothers. Btw auto tunes was not invented until mid 90s and now everyone uses it and you can have the worst voice, but sound good on a record even have microphones now that can make your voice sound better than it actually is it’s crazy nobody has talent anymore they have to use gadgets to make themselves sound good where we grew up with the best music ever because it was all pure talent 100%. One person I would love for you to react to is the late great Janis Joplin she has a raspy bluesy voice that will blow you away plus she’s my all-time favorite female singer ever she died in 1970 from a drug overdose and was only 27 years old. Such a great talent gone too soon. Damn drugs. RIP Maurice, Robin and Andy Gibb RIP dear Janis
Please stop trying to sing you are ruining the song. The BGees also sing in a normal voice Robin on the left, Barry in the middle, Maurice on right. Barry is the oldest boy the twins are 3 years younger then last but not least is Andy. He did a few songs with the group and went out on his own
😂... Let me guess .. You thought they were black too, huh? No worries. You wouldn't be the first reactor to think that either. BeeGee's are a good rabbit hole to jump into. Enjoy! The oldest brother, Barry, is the sole surviving member of the group. Barry is the tall glass of cool water in the middle. Maurice and Robin are his fraternal twin brothers. I believe Robin passed in 2005 and Maurice in '12. They(we) lost baby brother Andy Gibb way back in 1988 from complications from Myocarditis. Basically heart failure from years of cocaine abuse. Andy was only 30 y/o. Originally, #Stayin' Alive is from the 1978(?) movie #Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. It was set back during the disco era of the seventies. The movie isn't about disco dancing tho. Its more about the coming of age for a group of friends living in NYC. John Travolta not only plays the lead role, but he also does his own dance moves in the movie. Travolta was/is a accomplished dancer, singer then. Today John is a licensed commercial airlines pilot .. occasionally.
@@iEight8 If you check out the official video of this song, you`ll see FOUR guys on stage! Its the only video with their little (Baby) brother Andy. He was 12 years younger than Barry and had a solo career, bc he was a little child when his brothers started theirs.
They have so many great songs, it take you awhile to react to all of them. Here's another vibe you might wanna hear by the BEE GEES...... "NIGHT FEVER"
Bee Gees Guy in the middle is Barry Gibb and his twin brothers Robin on the left and Maurice..I hope you will listen to more of their music and their story..Their youngest brother died at the age of 30..He was amazing too... A great family of talent.
Loved hearing Millennials grooving to the 70s and 80's Yes watch Saturday Night Fever. Discos were so so much fun. We abandoned our hippy garp and it then became "dress up time " and donned our platform shoes and glitter , danced our hearts out in the Discos of the 70s and some of us found love.
Enjoyed watching you enjoying The Bee Gees. They were playing on the radio when I was your age & not on the Oldies station. :-) They definitely had the talent.
Yep back then there was no Autotune just musicians pure voice and talent. You need to listen to Jive Talking and Fanny Be Tender With My Heart. They wrote all their music. Just Pure Talent. Loved your reaction lol. Barry is the only one living
No autotune here... this is just siblings with amazing harmonies... and when younger brother Andy came in.. same voice.. Just think back in the day... b4 autotune... the Osmonds the Jackson... siblings just can get it done.. I guess the Jonas Brothers r more relavant... but I'm a little older.. lol.. Mind you.. all I just listed.. were 20 yr or plus older than me.. prolly 40 yrs older than you
You found their disco! No, no autotune, just incredible voices. Great music lasts forever. We're still listening to Mozart, Beethoven, & Bach, right? Thanks for your reaction.
I bet you have heard alot of other songs from Saturday Night Fever but didn't know It! I was in Lowes the other day and Night Fever came on, I told the guy helping me, excuse me but I'm an old disco queen, I gotta sing with Barry! 😜😁😅
You have just started down the road of THE BEEGEES. They were not JUST disco. People turned them off because of that but they all were very talented and they had songs, before and after the disco era that was in the charts. Try I started a joke with Robin as the Lead., Closer than Close with Maurice, Fanny , Too Much Heaven. I grew up listening to these beautiful voices and still they calm my soul when I listen to them. RIP Maurice and Robin.
That's their voices. When the Bee Gees split for a time they kept writing together and they got back together. Their brother Andy didn't join the group but had a solo career. Check out Robin's song "I started a joke". and I think you will see how come that voice blended so well with Barry's falsetto
When these songs were released in the 70s, auto tune was nit invented till 1998. The 1st song or should i say first hit with auto tune was Cher with "Believe" (great song though). No, this was just pure unadulterated talent. ❤🎼 PS..I just subscribed. 👍
Try to reacted to their you should be dancing than you will see 4th bro.Andy Gibbs there, he is the one that pass away first when he was in his 30. During 80s he gone.
Glad the younger generation discover music from back in the days. No audio tune. Just pure talet ❤I grew up with a mother who played Bee Gees and Elvis. It rubbed off early on me 🥰
Auto tune was only invented in 1985, so that is right. They never needed any enhancement. They sang together in the bedroom since they were little, Barry was 3 years older than the twins. They gained stardom when they didn't know how to read or write music on paper, so they kept it all in their heads. That takes a lot of imagination and memory power. Mo called Barry a hit machine, his musical instincts were spot on, still are, they wrote over 1,000 songs between them. Barry said Mo just always knew, just how high or low to sing to enhance their voices. Barry could sing the same section, 5 times in a row, timing, word and note perfect. The tech wanted to choose the better one in each section of the song, like they usually did. Barry was the writer, and it lived in his head, so there was no change, none was needed. Barry wanted to add an embellishment once, at the last minute, it lived in his head, nobody had heard it yet. They recorded it and it fit in nearly exactly the first time.
So glad you’re finding old music! I started listening to music in the 50’s and I can tell you - the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and a lot of 80’s music - that’s the BEST music. Todays music and artists can’t hold a candle to the music of those decades! Good stuff! I’m having fun listening again as you discover for the first time! By the way, The Bee Gees provided a number of tracks for the sound track to the movie Saturday Night Fever, a big hit in the late 70’s that ushered in disco era of the 80’s.
This song was originally in the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, but also again in the movie Stayin Alive, which was the sequel to Saturday Night Fever.
I grow up with the best Group ever. Nobody can switch there Voices like the Bee Gees. I love it so much. 🕺🥰👍
Nobody could switch their voices.... frankie valli would beg to differ lol..... or the righteous brothers might have a say... peace from Northern Michigan

It’s a masterpiece! I used to write songs but the skills and talent it takes to write, arrange, play, sing a song like this is beyond epic!!!
Google the videos when they were kids singing on tv shows in the 50s…adorable.
The very first movie is “Saturday Night Fever” and that is the first original soundtrack
Tomorrow most def!!
Please react to the Bee Gees song Fanny be Tender with my Love. Please react to the Bee Gees song You should Be dancing. The Bee Gees youngest brother Andy Gibb joined them to sing. It is one of the rare times all Four brothers sang together!
Most def!!❤️🔥
bee gees bodyguard
Hey bro i like you reactions the Bee Gees OMG disco music, im suscribe, John Travolta dancing
Auto tune didn’t exist when this was recorded.
Auto tune wasn’t invented yet, back then.
Enjoyed your reaction. Auto tune is what you millennials are accustomed to, it wasn't around back then.
You right😂😂❤️🔥
You’ve heard this.
I was in my teens when this came out i am 60 now😮
Barry gibb did NOT die last week fake news😮
It must be Trump's fake news channel!
@@spudjohnsonn8122 Yes!! Good grief!!! Might I add----Heavens ta Murgytroid!!!!!!!
👍👌👌
Elvis recorded the Bee Gees song Words.
There was no auto tune in this time, you had to do it for real. You didn't get as famous as the BeeGees were without tons of talent. That's why not everyone looks like a 10, because at that time you were usually just heard on the radio and only seen in concert, so looks weren't as important. Look at some of the big stars from the 60s and 70s some of them are not very attractive people but they were still famous and had fans chasing them all the time
They weren't my favorite group but they can sing and they do have some good songs as well
It’s so sad all the brothers are in heaven except for Barry who’s only one left out out of the four Gibb brothers.
Damn drugs. RIP Maurice, Robin and Andy Gibb
RIP dear Janis
Dont feel bad, as a kid I thought this song was sung by a black woman.
Thats what ya get for limiting yourself to rap and hip hop....
You couldn't believe some white lumberjacks were capable of this lmao!
😂😂😂😂😂
Watch they video you should be dancing
From the movie Saturday night fever
that's not a full beard 0:31
Chill😂😂
Definitely not one hit wonders
Barry, guy in the middle was last surviving brother. He died last week
Sweetie, please check out. You should be dancing, Bee gees. 🎶🎶🎶❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥. Thank you 😘
Of course! ❤️🔥
@@iEight8 If you check out the official video of this song, you`ll see FOUR guys on stage! Its the only video with their little (Baby) brother Andy. He was 12 years younger than Barry and had a solo career, bc he was a little child when his brothers started theirs.
Try bodyguard
They have so many great songs, it take you awhile to react to all of them. Here's another vibe you might wanna hear by the BEE GEES...... "NIGHT FEVER"
Thanks!!❤️🔥
This was 1977. Auto tune wasn’t invented for another 20 years
Bee Gees Guy in the middle is Barry Gibb and his twin brothers Robin on the left and Maurice..I hope you will listen to more of their music and their story..Their youngest brother died at the age of 30..He was amazing too...
A great family of talent.
Auto tune wasn’t invented yet. Lol
Autotune wasn't even invented yet.
Loved hearing Millennials grooving to the 70s and 80's
Yes watch Saturday Night Fever.
Discos were so so much fun.
We abandoned our hippy garp and it then became "dress up time " and donned our platform shoes and glitter , danced our hearts out in the Discos of the 70s and some of us found love.
These guys are amazing!!❤️🔥
Enjoyed watching you enjoying The Bee Gees. They were playing on the radio when I was your age & not on the Oldies station. :-) They definitely had the talent.
Yep back then there was no Autotune just musicians pure voice and talent. You need to listen to Jive Talking and Fanny Be Tender With My Heart. They wrote all their music. Just Pure Talent. Loved your reaction lol. Barry is the only one living
They were hot for a long time ❤❤❤❤
No autotune here... this is just siblings with amazing harmonies... and when younger brother Andy came in.. same voice.. Just think back in the day... b4 autotune... the Osmonds the Jackson... siblings just can get it done.. I guess the Jonas Brothers r more relavant... but I'm a little older.. lol.. Mind you.. all I just listed.. were 20 yr or plus older than me.. prolly 40 yrs older than you
“Saturday Night Fever” was the movie. They wrote all the music for the movie. All of it. Good movie too with John Travolta.
Watch Bee Gees: Nights on Broadway. Follow with Bee Gees: Tragedy. It will really surprise you
You have just started down the road of THE BEEGEES.
We understand if you are flabbergasted...😂 ❤
That's their voices. When the Bee Gees split for a time they kept writing together and they got back together. Their brother Andy didn't join the group but had a solo career. Check out Robin's song "I started a joke". and I think you will see how come that voice blended so well with Barry's falsetto
I Started a Joke
@@punkydoodle4774 I realized that after I sent comment then phone died. I wanted to correct it but couldn't find it. Thank you so much.
And their kid brother andy RIP was an amazing talent too. I was a 11 year old crash ❤
Your grandparents danced those rhythms. We were all young once.
Pure talents, masters of harmonies, no autotunes, they can sing!
The secret is the pants, look at how tight they are, Ha Ha.
Perfection ❤️❤️❤️
When these songs were released in the 70s, auto tune was nit invented till 1998. The 1st song or should i say first hit with auto tune was Cher with "Believe" (great song though). No, this was just pure unadulterated talent. ❤🎼
PS..I just subscribed. 👍
Try to reacted to their you should be dancing than you will see 4th bro.Andy Gibbs there, he is the one that pass away first when he was in his 30. During 80s he gone.
Bet!!
Watch "you should be dancing ". Amazing disco song.
Glad the younger generation discover music from back in the days. No audio tune. Just pure talet ❤I grew up with a mother who played Bee Gees and Elvis. It rubbed off early on me 🥰
This was a cool reaction👍
Too much heaven came out 79, after this Saturday night fever movie came out 78. Back than lb.vame out.
Yea seems like thats when all the best songs were made!❤️🔥
Hello from Cody Wyoming 😊you're awesome keep it up
This song was originally in the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, but also again in the movie Stayin Alive, which was the sequel to Saturday Night Fever.
Gibb without the S
