One thing I have found is reviewing parts of my text that don’t include enough reactions to certain conversations or scenes. Etc. That helps me a lot to fill in the gaps and creates more continuity
I’ve always been an over-writer … I remember once in the 7th grade we had an assigned writing assignment to write a descriptive paragraph and I turned in a 15-page short story 😂 (In my defence, I did ask the teacher ahead of time, I said I was inspired by the picture we were meant to describe and asked if I could write a short story instead if I started off my story with the assigned descriptive paragraph. He loved my story and I got a perfect grade! He was an awesome teacher.)
Amen, I figured out which part of development I need to leaned towards; additional transitions between the journeys, like from castles in a forrest to a gas planet and aliens. Bringing in the sights of each scene. Slowing down

Really helpful. I wish I'd made this map when I started editing my first book. I had the sense to edit linearly, but by the time I reached the midpoint in my book, so much had changed--and so much more needed to change--that I had to go back to the beginning. This happened twice... This is my first novel, so I learned a lot from it, and then I naturally took a bigger-picture look (like a revision map) at what needed to happen. I honed that outline before going back into the edits. There have been so many deletions, rewrites, etc. and... my book is turning out incredible. Thanks!

An outline like this will help me. Yes, I'm a "pantser" but now I have to still pare down around 3,500 words...not bad considering I just spent the last month getting rid of 35K words. I also change things up. I read chapters out of order but only because I've edited my WIP many times. I do line edits along with dev edits if it's not my first edit. I've started a new "game", where I put chapter numbers on papers and pick them out of a hat. My daughter walks by and automatically picks chapters for me now. I also narrowed it down to the longer chapters, i.e., over 4K words...now no chapter is longer than 3300-3500 words. I'm getting there!
Im actually trying to find a developmental editor. Idk if its a good thing to ask if they work with successful established authors. Idk if i get the same results from different editors. Is it okay to ask for samples?

What would really help increase viewers to your instructional videos would be to separate fiction from non-fiction. I am writing non-fiction and it really helps me little to watch your videos because your examples are mostly for fiction. I like the teacher. I just don't appreciate the fictional writing examples when I'm writing non-fiction. Hope this helps.

I listen to her and I have no idea why anyone should listen to what Shaelin Bishop has to say. I am not sure what qualifies her to know more than anybody else. Perhaps someone who doesn't agree with her recommendations entirely. I mean if someone instructs you how to do something or how something should be shouldn't there be something behind them. Either an achievement, or a method training verified by someone?

However, I do have a degree in writing that I graduated from with distinction, and all content on this channel is just a suggestion as to how to write, and anything technical (publishing, grammar, etc) is researched before hand, I'm just presenting it to you!

Note editing is best done in stages. Do them as she has numbered . Doing a full edit as a newbie is suicide.
