    I think it is the best video (serial) about Squier CV 50's MN Strat by now, and thanks for that because you reminded me what I should do with mine I expect to appear in few weeks or less. About basic setup I specially agree to care about intonation, and hope I will not turn back the guitar because of nut problem ... The guitar is good when is able to make good setup, otherwise is garbage whatever money is in question. There is a lot of stuffs to talk about vintage Strat. You said the neck is narrow to you, and I hope for that feel, but seems it is about personal preferences because o.e. a guy posted video on youtube that for him the neck is too wide ... You said this guitar sounding darkly, and for sure, it is because all Squier single coil pickups, including all Player series, and interesting to mention 99% of Chinese copies use plastic coil bobbins. which make distance (gap) between pickup windings and magnetic rods, regardless they are with Alnico, or ceramic magnets. That gap does not exist in genuine Fender, and they made it intentionally to make difference in sounding between USA guitars and cheaper ones, although genuine's are simplest guitar pickups on the world. That darker sounding could be compensated something with changing (motstly increasing, but not always) number of windings, or type of magnets, but always will missing highest frequencies. Also, I saw some Fender Strats where strings cut in to the saddles ...

    You're making us feel great about our squire guitar purchases.
    If you look at it from a wise perspective, youll end up with a bigger guitar collection at the mid point in your life if you buy into this brand.
    Youll get more variety and more fun.
    You got some great sounds out of that.
    It really sounds like the fifties too.
    Today I played my squire vintage stratocaster guitar and heard it through my JTM 30 amplifier.
    It has it's own set of stratocaster tones.

      That was a Twin Reverb. I don’t have that one anymore but I do have a Princeton and I find that is more than enough for my purposes. The Twin was a bit overkill.

    If these guitars came set up from the factory ,they would sell a lot more of them. Every one of them I have bought, needed a lot of setting up, but otherwise are great instruments. Not like a 50's Strat, because I owned one, that had a three way switch and a 7.5 inch radius neck, and this one lacks the punch of that old guitar. I still like my Classic Vibe a lot; find it fun to play ;and it stands on it's own merits.

    • @paragatidas
      @paragatidas 8 місяців тому

      It is interesting that you mentioned "lack the punch". It is because of difference in pickups although they are Alnico type ... I described in my post above

    Excellent video! I have two MiC 50s CVs, the two-tone Strat like yours, and the blackguard butterscotch Tele. I love them! Total bang for your buck guitars. And I play them through my blonde ToneMaster Deluxe Reverb - you're right, a Fender through a Fender is glorious...

    Can you give me a feel good factor about the narrow saddle spacings on the bridge and narrow trem plate screw spacings, compared to USA and MIM Strats? Why oh why?

    • @efxloopjaybyrne
      @efxloopjaybyrne  5 місяців тому

      Honestly I don’t feel cramped or anything. Everything feels right. I know the spacing is thinner but it’s pretty negligible.

    I bought my Squier Classic Vibe 50's Strat (White Blonde 2020 Indonesia) from Sweetwater Sound. The only thing I've ever purchased from them. They did an excellent job on the setup / 55 point inspection.
    But didn't pay any attention to the tremolo system. Overall I'm happy with the purchase.
    But they have an aggressive sales team that works on commission. If you purchase anything from Sweetwater...
    *They will email you relentlessly.*
    *They will call you often. Anytime you are doing something important.*
    *They will reach out to you and sell you equipment that you didn't know you needed.*
    *They will help you finance buying gear you could probably live without.*
    *They will keep calling, and emailing regardless of whether you keep buying from them or not.*
    *They will keep calling, only this time it's another Sweetwater employee. He just wants to talk about my musical journey. and maybe bounce back some song ideas.*
    _What?!_ LMAO _Really?_ 🤣
    (This really happened.)

    I have one of these exact guitars, it's one of the earliest ones. Good neck, happy with the pickups and harware. The only thing that seems a bit agricultural is the scratchplate which is thick and a bit crude looking. It is a bit annoying but not enough for me to do much about it. I did gig this guitar quite a bit but moved on to other guitars so this one has sat around unplayed for a few years now. I got it quite cheap as an ex demo so it doesn't owe me anything really.

    Merci pour cette video , qui remet cette magnifique guitare a sa place , c est a dire a la premiere pour moi , j ai 3 Squier classic vibe a la maison , et ce n est pas pour une question de budget , mais parce que ce sont de tres bonne guitares , et je n ais simplement pas envie d acheter une Fender mexicaine , qui ne m apporterait pas plus que cette CV50 stratocaster que j ai depuis 5 ans ......a present j ai un budget consequent , et j avais decidé d acheter une autre guitare ......et bien rien a faire , je n en acheterais pas , car j aimes tellement ces CV que je n ais pas besoin de chercher ailleur ......dailleur a chaque fois que j ai essayé d acheter une les paul , ou autre ......je les aient revendue car je reviens toujours vers mes classic vibe , j ai la meme stratocaster que vous , et deux telecaster , une CV 50 et une CV 60 , par contre j aimes tellement la touche erable , que j ai mis le manche erable de ma CV 50 sur le corp de ma CV 60 , et j y ais apporté quelques modification , comme un chevalet gotoh/wilkinson , une electronique mojotone USA , une paire de dimarzio , les meme que sur la telecaster de Richie Kotzen , un pickguard perloid ......et je dois dire que cette guitare n a pas d equivalent dans tout ce que j ai pu jouer dans ma carriere de 30 ans ....meme mes amis guitariste qui sont venu l essayé voulaient me l achetée pour repartir avec tellement elle sonne exellement bien . Alors je sais que certain vont penser au sacrilege , mais ma CV50 stratocaster va recevoir aussi quelques modification , electronique mojotone et nouvelle mecanique vintage a blocage kluson , la seule chose ou j hesite encore c est sur le vibrato et les micros , car j aimes les micros , au debut j avais un peu de mal avec le micro aigue , mais j avoue qu avec mon nouveau pedalboard epuré , il sonne divinement bien ........en faite dans mon esprit je voudrais en faire une CV50 Eric Johnson replica , car cette guitare est quand meme tres tres proche par l aspect general de la Fender virginia signature de Maitre Eric Johnson . Pour le vibrato , j hesite entre un ABM 5050-M Vintage Tremolo qui garderait l esprit vintage de la guitare , ou un Vega trem , dont la reputation n est plus a faire , mais qui denaturerait un peu le look general de la guitare . Voila , j esperes ne pas avoir été trop long avec mes explication .......derniere chose , je sais que je ne recupererais jamais l argent investi , mais cette guitare a été achetée a la mort de mon pere , et je ne la vendrait jamais ..........

      To believe or not, when I was on Fender site few years ago, I completed the questionnaire there was, in order Fender can make to me suggestion about the guitar. The result was exactly this guitar - Squier CV 50's MN Strat between all of their production. Really, the maple neck with gloss finish is gorgeous, without stupid "faster" satin finish on the back like most of the newer guitars are made. Did I understood, you changed the pickups with Dimarzio ones, all single coil set (SSS)?
