Вставка

- Building a DIY off road Go Kart from steel tubing, online plans and a lot of welding! This was definitely the most amount of welding I've ever done on one single project. A lot of work but So Much Fun! And it even works... despite my best efforts ;)
This was such a fun project and I was happy to have the opportunity to partner with Forney Industries on this build! Go check out their awesome line of welders, plasma cutters and other metal working products! www.forneyind.com/
Plans used for this build were purchased from SpiderCarts.com www.spidercarts.com/downloads...
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for watching! Joe

homesteadonomics is spidercarts a safe website is it closed?
Gday
New to your channel
That offroad buggy looks loads of fun
Do you have a list of materials in METRIC not inchs/foot and the costs of each bit for international viewers outside CA/USA
GGG
Hey do you happen to have a list of the materials you used thanks
Nice flat head engine
Good work.
I love how you involve your daughter in your projects. Teaching her how to use tools and build things will serve her well in life and make her a more confident, well rounded human being. Well done sir.
thanks! my goal is to teach her everything I know and then help her learn everything she wants too... I can already tell she's gonna surpass my mind easily :)
That's insane! Awesome job Joe, can't believe you made the entire thing from scratch! Definitely the coolest project to date
Thanks Robin! It was a bit of a project to complete but a lot of fun once complete :D
Looks great. Love that you included your daughter in the build, good memories that she will always have!
That is probably the coolest off road Go Kart I have ever seen. I love the rack and pinion steering and how you made it so it could be moved over for your daughter to steer.
Such a cool project, Joe! I can tell your daughter LOVES it! I agree with you...adding the basket and rack on top really added a lot to the design.
thanks Bruce! She did love it too... especially the steering wheel option I made for her...lol.. she just wants to drive crooked all the time...lol kids will be kids :D
@@homesteadonomics what motor/engine??????
Love the cart build Joe ! I am sure your daughter will enjoy it too ! Should save you a lot of white knuckle moments when it comes time to teach her how to drive... I know I was always glad our kids had some experience with one before driving... Have a great weekend !
haha... I'm hoping so! as you saw, she does like to 'drive crooked'...lol
hopefully I can tame those crazy driving desires with this and then by the time she really starts driving, it will be just business as usual... that is if the whole 'self driving' car thing doesn't cramp our rural living ;)
I'd love to make one of those with my everlast welder. Great job.
Dude, your a genius! I wish I could do this with my kids.
Joe, this is hands down the best Go Kart there is!!! Absolutely my favorite!!!! Genius ideas with the steering!! We love it!!!!!!
Thanks Maria! yes, that steering option was probably one of the simplest portions of the build but its my favorite because it makes it useful for Marley... early drivers training....lol... except for the fact that she just wants to drive crooked all the time... lol
?
Just looking amazing Joe, and your girl was very proud to steer the card, very brilliant idea to make a removable steering. Thank you for sharing your amazing video. God bless you and your family
thanks Carsten! the steering was my favorite upgrade too... God Bless you and yours too!
I would love to build this cart stretched out to sit more comfortably and with the 20,000-watt brushless motor I have. Fantastic build thanks for all the hard work, it gave me much more confidence in starting my own build for me and my daughter. You can tell your little girl definitely loved it, that's priceless!
You are the inspire to me for every thing you made!!!God bless you and your family George from Hellas(Greece)
Oh my gosh! I don't even have the words to express how incredibly awesome that was! What a cool go cart! You are amazing
Toni Brock thanks for checking it out Toni! Definitely one of the more involved projects I’ve done😀
Absolutely amazing go kart, you are so clever. It is my dream to have a go kart as good as yours. You are amazing!!!!!!!! Keep making awesome mortised veichles and keep being awesome!!!!
Is there anything this man can not do? Wow! Very inspiring.
Simply build, great choice of pipes and components, beautiful design, well painted with nice colors, I’ve seen many videos on you tube and I can easily say that you are the only one who did it perfectly
One of my favorite videos thus far. Loved the adjustable steering idea.
thanks! that was definitely my favorite part too... simple little bracket that took about 15 min to make... and made my daughter really excited about the kart too! :D
It turned out so well because your helper ❤ was so good
yes, she makes all the difference :D
can you put motorcycle wheels on it?
@@narutoloversheart500 i love your
AWESOME WORK! I love how you use the scrap for some custom stuff - nicely done
The go-kart looks really good. Good job.
"two and a half minus one line" Perfect for tile work and woodworking too :)
yes! works for me in my mind... sometimes I'll be doing a measurement and in my mind saying "2 and 4 lines.." then I realize that that measurement was 2 1/4"....lol... gotta work within my mental limits :)
I've been doing that in my woodworking for years.
Hats off! Amazing build. Such a talented man. Woodwork,weld,diy.....you can do it all. 👍
Thanks Dylan! it was a really fun project... and even more fun once i got the fabrication done...lol
I love how you let your daughter help you. She is going to be such a skilled young lady one day! That is cool the steering wheel can change sides!
Wow what a fantastic end product and just love your little assistant and I am sure she is mighty proud of you as well. Great post.
Let me just congratulate you for been a cool dad.
That is so cool! It looks good too.
Thanks John!!
wow, the amazing result besides, a beautifull landscape. if i would live there, i would for sure build something like this too
Actually, I was thinking of what to build for me project coming up soon. I had an idea to built a go kart, I don’t know how to go about it, now that I have seen how you built your super cool 😎 go kart. I’m more intrigued to start mine. Thank you Joe 🙏🏻
Joe, you are truly the daddy of all daddies. What a fantastic build and it looks great fun. Now that you are teaching your daughter to drive it will not be long before she is asking dad for the car keys. For your next build how about a Siromer tractor (a self build mini tractor from China) or a Tafe from India, someone of your ability could pull it off in no time.
lol... yes, that's probably true... and that will be a sad day for me...lol
Now that tractor sounds realllllly interesting!!!! is it one of those open source kinda things or do they sell like component parts that you have to put together? Or a mix between the two... either way you have probably just saddled me into researching that tonight....lol ;)
Joe, the Siromer comes as a flat pack in a metal crate (which can be turned into a trailer) and requires building by the purchaser. It can have fitted all the things that a normal tractor needs like back hoe, dozer blade etc and would be a great addition for digging ditches etc.

Can you please translate yoyr measurment in centimeters (CM)
thank you
✌
Know doubt about it you know exactly what you are doing. I am liking your design and build.
thanks! but the design is from spidercarts.com... my add ons were mostly in the rear basket and top roof rack.. and the steering option. thanks for checking it out!
homesteadonomics. I was wondering how fast does it go and is it prone to flip over very easily?
Great job I'm very impressed that you build everything from scratch... looks great
The steering wheel is really cool..
I wouldn't have thought of it..
Simple and leaves dad in control..👍
WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN !!!!!!!! I am very glad I came across your video , I am sure it took a long time to build it , but you managed to put it in only 13 useful minutes , any father that uses his know-how skills to make good things for his kids surely deserves my atmost respect , diffenatly liked and subscribed , awesome job.
haha.. thanks! it was a super fun build... took a bit of time but really enjoyable to work on this project! thanks for the sub too... camp trailer build will be the next similar one to this one... as far as something with wheels on it that is LOL
I’m jealous, great project Joe. And, you did good!! 👍💪
Ron & Ron thanks so much Ron!!
Nicely done with a lot of great ideas. I love the moveable steering. I don't think I'd give up the gas and brakes either. Nice wrist watch too but the way.
Now this is a really cool project.
Bello da matti probabilmente lo farò pure io per mio figlio grazie del fantastico video
grazie mille! :)
HEY YOU ARE THE MAN AND THAT'S WHY I LIKE YOUR CHANNEL SO MUCH LATER TAKE CARE FAMILY MUCH LOVE :)
TJ'S WOODWORKING SHOP thanks TJ! Love back to you and your family too! 😀👍
Your illustrations are awesome I watched all trailer project parts your work is very neat plus you pay attention to the little details I loved fabrication because of you thanks to you very much sir.
Big like from Arabian Yemen.
Great Job!! This was my dream to build a go cart with my dad.
Yes, it does look like super fun!! Thanks for sharing : )
thanks for checking it out GK:)
Very impressive welding skills. That did not look easy. Good job and thanks for the video.
thanks! it wasn't too bad when taken piece by piece ... but it was the most I've welded on any one project! whew! but so fun :D
2AKNOT what kind of welder is that? No rods? My dad always used an arc welder
Bad "Donkey" Joe! I really like the "2-way" steering system. Super cool.
Awesome build
Awesome! Awesome new shirts and gloves too! I am a little surprised the go cart is not grey.
lol.... that is very true... but the base is a dark gray :) But I'm actually really liking the green and still have a can left over so you might see some 'non gray' creations in the future ;)
That is awesome!!!
thanks CaWF!
Joe that was an awesome builds. Almost as technical as the camper build but not as time consuming.
That's such a genius idea(steering wheel)
NICE WORK
Awesome project Joe! Thanks for sharing the video.😎👍JP
thanks JP!
You're very welcome Joe! 😎

Now that looks like a fun toy 😀💟
Animal Facts it sure is! Really fun!!! 😆 thanks for checking it out!
Probably the best go kart build I’ve seen.
Wow, what a project. Great job, you rock !!!
This looks like a great build! Could you tell me how much it costs and roughly how long it took to put together? I am interested in building this for a school project
I would like to know that as well! I also am interested in this as a project for school.
Sameeee I want this for my self !!!
Brilliant! As per usual. Thanks for a great video.
Awsome build
wowowowwowow awesome!
thanks CW! it was a long process but really fun now that it's mobile :D
You're such a good craftsman, the project looks like some factory had made it
Ohh my gosh that the best gokart building i ever saw
That looks so fun driving around perfect for the kids
Looks like a fun project Joe!
It looks like you're missing jam nuts on those heim joints in your front A arms. They would primarily be used to set the adjustment in two sided applications like a tie rod or drag link but they're important for strength and longevity of the part too. :-)
thanks Bob! it was!
I'll have to look into those nuts... that area could certainly have a bit more flexibility on adjustment and the sorts like that :)
No way!!! Sweet
Chris P thanks chris!
Love the moveable steering wheel !!!!!
This was very useful to us for our off road buggy project work thanks for this video and your mind🙏🙏🙏🙏
Where did you purchase all the hardware like shocks, seats, swing arm pivot brackets, etc. THX!
Oh a go cart, looks promising. Love your videos! 💋🍄💋🍄💋
thanks John!
That is absolutely fantastic god bless you!!!
Awesome video. I always wanted to learn how to weld and I will...so many things you can make knowing how to weld. Great job. 👍❣❣❣
And how many CC is the engine you used
Hey one quick question where did you get all of the supplies to build this?
You rock bro amazing job a true craftsman
That is a lot of work. But at the end is a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing. Greetings from California.
Joe, is there anything you can't build! 😁,,, can I be your son...😆
Your little girl has one good daddy!! Take care and God Bless my friend.☺☺☺
Orange Rocket thanks so much! But there is plenty I can’t build. Marley wants me to build a plane now😂...I keep telling her that we need to start small first, like a model airplane...lol
homesteadonomics , Ha! Ha! Ha! 😂. I know you can do it Joe!!! Do it for your little girl... And me. LOL! You did an outstanding job on that go cart, I always look forward to your next video my friend! ☺☺☺
Hog Man jjdjeifkgogk
Check me out
Damn, with those attention to details and skills why aren’t you building a Baja 1000 or King of the Hammers truck on the Velocity Channel or something like that?
haha... i think those might be past my skill level and budget too ;)
I wish I had the tools to try building something like that!! My dad used to build stuff from scratch he was very talented. Now that I'm into it he's passed away :( I'm just starting to buy tools n work on things. Wish I had a mentor like u!! Ur very talented!
I love your presentation. Very good & easy to understand
nice
thanks!
You still have time to build one and ship it to me for my birthday. Thanks.
lol... I don't know if my wife would let me build another ;)
Great video! Thanks. In depth and came out great. Thanks again
Awesome idea to make the steering move over so your daughter can steer! The only suggestion is paint the white wheels green! Thanks for the awesome video!
I really love it! I'd like to build one, but the wife has already said no.
thanks Derrick! lol... you just gotta promise her you'll build something for her too... the next big project is a camp trailer and she really wants that... which made the kart project easier for her to accept...lol
I am trying to build it now. I picked the absolute worst time to do it. I didn’t realize steel and parts had gone up 110%. It’s been fun so far though. When she lets u just ensure you have all the proper parts first. Like the spindles, bearings wheels etc. That is the problem I’m running into. I’m receiving all the wrong parts. It breaks your heart.
Imagine this with a motorcycle engine :O
wow its good enough to look like you bought it, very well done
Wonderful job . And beautiful offroad Go kart👍🏻👌🏻
woodprix has very useful plans with all details I need
Can you plz tell me the whole cost for this project
Bodheesh V C did u find out
I would guess around 1000$
@@zackskinner2666 no fkin way..
Di Pf would u say more or less
I would say around 2000 for the common earthling. Once you become a good like him people start to give you stuff for free. Hahah
That is one hell of a job man your amazing
Respect ,
this is outstanding , Man !
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Engine cc?
R. E. Hill don’t remember exactly but it’s a 10hp engine😀
Awesome go-kart made by you👌👌
That is exactly what I want to build for my daughter and I. At this time I don’t the welder or the money for parts. My little girl is 12 so I hope I can do this before she is 14. Nice video and have fun👍
hey man can i contact you on mail , i wan to know from where you buy the engine ,suspention , weel ,?
Did you figure out?
U shudv divided this build into a couple smaller videos. That way youd have more content to pump out and itll create a sense of anticipation with the people who watch to see a completed project. That looks super clean. Love ur videos. Keep up the gd work.
thanks... I thought about that but a timing issue kind of forced my hand and I figured I'd show it all in one. There is going to be a magazine article in Extreme How To magazine and I had to have the video out within a time frame... and kept going back and forth on it... and just figured one longer video versus two others.
Very cool! I'm starting to get into welding. (I am rebuilding a old Jeep.) This looks like a fun project.
This video is a great reference. My grand daddy is nearly complete. I've got the A arms left to do. Not bad plans, they are a bit outdated but work very well. After building the top rails I noticed it was very low near my head so I raised it up 5". Its for my kids but their nearly as tall as I am at 5' 9". It can get a bit expensive when you're buying your square tubing on eBay. So, if you have a hook up on 1×1 and 1¹/⁴×1¹/⁴ tubing you'll save a few hundred. I'm installing a predator 420cc on mine so I had to do some modifications on the back sub frame to run the bigger engine. I have yet to purchase the steering and rack & pinion due to one of the websites on the plans is no longer available. So I'm going to put the whole kart together and then take measurements for the correct steering set up. BMIKARTS, OMB, EBAY and AMAZON will be your go to for parts.
I so wanna build this one day, this will have to be a project for me 👍👍
Why hadn't I taken up welding when I was younger, and now, in my early 40s, I want to get into it! I know it's not easy, but I feel the itching for it. Love this project.
Chalres Kirkland Go for it Charles!
Same here. Bought a HF welder a year or so ago. It does the little lawn mower type jobs Ive done thus far. Welded up a broken muffler and one of the deck mounts broke. So far everything has stood up so there must be some penetration to my welds. Theyre still ugly as sin and require alot of grinding, but atleast Im getting something done....good luck
Too cool! Awesome fab skills! Great job!
Im about to have my first child in Oct and I cant wait to build a go cart like this with them and for them. :)
Congratulations bud
