Just minding my own business studying and this lyric comes up: I question every part of who I am. I question every part of who I am. +Iris Me too. Lately, a lot of songs are about religion and I'm kind of getting tired of how all of my favorite bands are doing that :// I love om&m though. c:
Yeah, don't shit yourselves over them. They aren't cute (normal looking guys), their screams? THEIR? Only Austin's screaming (well, Aaron also does backing screams live but they're not audible here) and omg their smiles... wtf? It's not some JB or 1D video to scream how "cute the boys are". That's why I hate fangirls, they're mostly see bands appearance than listen to their music or lyrics.
embie that's not entirely true. Yes I think they're good looking but of mice and men's music has gotten me through so much. I actually listen to and appreciate the lyrics. If I just liked looks I would listen to pop music. I'm not some phyco fan girl. I don't stalk them and try to sneak back stage so I can sleep with them. They are just people. People who happen to be very talented and produce amazing music with lyrics that can make me smile or push me to tears.
A lot of people don't like their new style and their most recent album. Personally, it's my second favorite album they've made (first is The Flood). I enjoy their new style, I like their change. I also realized it's a message in every song in Restoring Force. I love OM&M and I love this video. Keep up the good work guys, I'm so proud of you all.
Everybody's like (not especially in the comments of this song, but I've seen it so I have to tell) "I miss Austin" or "it's never gonna be the same now that Austin is gone" guys ! He had to. You don't heal when you have the kind of illness he has, you just learn to deal with it. Let's just hope he's happy with his life. Our job as fan is support them not control their lives. Amen.
Aaron's vocals at the beginning are ridiculously amazing. He's good on an album and live. I just wish his vocals were part of the entrance like they are here.
Still in love with all their songs and I'll never stop listening to them. Sadly Austin won't make it on stage again but I'll ever support his decision. ❤
Not to pick a fight or argue over semantics or anything, but it wasn't much of a choice...he was literally ripping holes in his spinal cord while screaming due to his connective tissue disorder and the sheer force of his screams. If you search "Austin carlile I am second" on UA-cam, there's an interview where he explains exactly how the screaming affected him. The holes in his spinal cord were so painful he had pain induced seizures, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. So I'm not sure I would consider it a choice so much as a necessity... He didn't have much of a say in the matter of how his body was being destroyed from the inside out :( However I too support him protecting his body over his career /fist bumps/
@@janedoe5980 oh that's what I wanted to say I just used wrong words sorry.. I know it wasn't really a choice but to be healthier he left something very important in his life instead of just going on till the end.. He is such a strong person and he'll always be my nr 1 reason to go on. ❣
I don't have a band but I write songs. What I used to right was mainly screams and unclean vocals with just a little clean parts. But as I grew older, different and new bands began to influence me. Bands like Anberlin, and The Maine. Now I write really chill type of stuff. I don't thing people will understand that bands change, until they themselves change in some way.
I'm listening to these guys backwards - I'm one of the ones who started with their newer stuff, which I love (Instinct, etc.), so this is kinda cool to see where they came from.
This is one of my favorite conceptual songs. The way Aaron and Austin contrast here make you think there are two different personalities fighting to stay in control.
Every time I watch a music video or simply listen to any of there albums it reminds me of just how much I owe to this band, their lyrics always pull me from that dark place I can never seem to fully get out of. I've accepted the fact I most likely won't get to see them live again (Warped Tour) because they have grown too big for any stadium or arena my state has to offer, I will remain loyal and never hate them for becoming successful.
Aaron’s singing is the main reason I got into Of Mice and Men back when they first released Restoring Force. Now they’re one of my favorite bands ever. The sheer musical depth and beauty on this album is very under appreciated by most rock/metal fans and compared to most music in general.
I'm happy for these dudes. The band has matured and that's what bands do. This sound is different, but still enjoyable. As someone who has been listening to them since 2009, I've matured with this band and that's why I like it. Stop hating on them. One of the few from this scene that have matured and not sounded like total shit or broken up. Keep it up.
OM&M are opening shows for Linkin Park, Of course they will change, they aren't playing for a crowd like Warped Tour / Chain Reaction / The Roxy ( I mean all these "big places" for these new Post-Hardcore/Djent bands ) They are playing for a HUGE CROWD in Stadiums / Theaters / Arenas (Giant places for any artist)... They need to change their songs to sounds more commercial, to get more fan$, view$ and feedback$... You guys need to accept the fact that the old OM&M will never back again.

Just listened to their new song Bloom then this got recommended... as much I love their new music, the first three OM&M albums take me back to late 2017 during the beginning of my senior year and will always have a special place in my heart.
As someone who suffers from borderline personality disorder, this song is incredibly relatable. Thank you Austin for reminding me I'm not the only one with these thoughts
You’re definitely not. Undiagnosed but I’m pretty certain I have it since it basically describes my entire personality. Dr. Daniel Fox is an expert on personality disorders and has some incredible videos on BPD, so does Katie Morton. I’m really thankful for everything they’ve provided for free. When I first got the album, I was skeptical about their new sound. They had a Rise Against sound at first. But the more I listened to every song, the more I realized the sound they were going for. I realized that band's change, they grow up, they want a different sound. What if a band never experimented with different sounds and had 5 albums all the same? I find THAT boring. And Restoring Force is anything but boring. The album grew onto me. I love it. And if you can't accept change, well you're just living in the past.
