This game came to me as I was dealing with losing my wife. It isn't hyperbole to say _Spiritfarer_ truly saved me. And, for that, I shall be forever grateful. Thank you for transforming grief into solace, and loss into remembrance. Be forever proud of the gift you gave us.

Spiritfarer deserves so much more success and attention than it has gotten. I cannot recall a game that has more reliably gotten me to cry than Spiritfarer. Hell, the music alone, listening to it on its own can make me break down sobbing. This trailer alone managed to bring me to tears, especially the ending.
I have made it a personal goal to recommend the game to as many people as I can. The game deserves it and the developers deserve praise for creating a game, story and characters engaging enough to stir such emotion in people.
Wait… *FAREWELL* Edition? Okay, I know this game is about learning how to say goodbye, but… but… I DON’T WANT TO SAY GOODBYE! This game means so much to me! This is the only game to ever make me cry! How dare you do this to me, Thunder Lotus? *sobs*
You… you really know how to get to me, you know that, right? And you know I’m going to play this update the day it comes out and I’m going to both love and hate every single minute of it. Love because Spiritfarer is one of my favorite games of all time, and hate because it’s the last bit of new content I’ll see in this beautiful, meaningful, heart wrenching masterpiece of a game.

My eyes are leaking... This game has a special place in my heart, I love it so. I tell anyone who will listen how amazing it is. I'm sad to see it go but all good things must come to an end. Thank you Thunder Lotus and everyone involved for touching our hearts in ways we didn't even know.

I just got married to my wife six months ago, and on the night of Thanksgiving, her mother passed away after a five year battle with stage 4 cancer. We played Spiritfarer somewhere along the way, and despite Summer’s character hitting a little too close to home, my wife continued to press on with her storyline.
At times Spiritfarer wasn’t a game my wife wanted to play, but we both understood the game was one we NEEDED to play as a sort of preparation for what was to come. In this sense, it helped wonderfully.
Thank you, Thunder Lotus. After she and I get through this, we are so excited to come back and play the updates. I’ve purchased your game four times through different consoles.
the song always get me teary eyed, love this game is does bring peace to my heart and the message it gives. Farewell to Stella and company what a journey with her and everyone will play it again for sure.

I started playing this game in between semesters at college. I’m often a completionist when it comes to video games so it was extra hard for this game to end for me after I finished all the achievements. While I wasn’t going through grief of losing others, this game helped me cope with the fact that I couldn’t finish projects in real life. This game gave me a space to have unlimited time to finish goals and to move on when I was ready.
I will forever remember this game, so nice and kind of remind me of my own life on what I have lost and experienced 😢

i havent finished this game yet, but it has truly opened up my eyes. i have complex ptsd, and have not lost anyone close to me to death- however i grieve for my childhood a lot, and severed ties with my family. this.. this game makes me feel like im making a difference. it makes me appreciate every second, even with the most mundane things, because everything comes to an end- which is why we must appreciate the good we have now. it is why we must do our best to keep our heads up high for the sake of ourselves, and the sake of others.
this is not just a video game. it is truly a wonderful work of art, a masterpiece that is so criminally underappreciated. thank you so much for creating this. i hope that soon, more people will enjoy this, and will expirience its wonder.
This was an incredible experience. I have worked several roles in a hospital, from being a student intern learning to suture under PA watchful instruction in the Emergency Dept (aka, I've been to the Everdoor at the moment someone walked through) to serving patients food to restocking the anesthesia in the OR after cases let out and a few other things in between, this game helped me with a lot of unprocessed / unrealized grief I didn't know I was carrying. Thank you.

Guys, as my grandma died i cannot finish the game. As i get to the Alice quests i cannot play anymore cause i feel like i will cry ALL the time.
The game, for that and a lot of the other stories, is one of the most beautiful and touching i ever saw/played. I hope i can gather the will to end it someday, but please keep the great work :) (i was just tearing writing this, guys you made it great)

i honestly haven't been able to continue this game after i said goodbye to allice. but looking at how i played i didn't take the time i needed to actually process alot of it. and its taught me ive not once in my life have i actually came to terms with the unfair amount of loss that ive had to deal with up until this point. i feel very soon with this update out that the time to sit down and understand my feelings and let them go is finaly approaching, and its a scary thought but i know i have to and that ive held on too long

Not only helping with loss, but my own problems. Not spoiling here, but having a character with not only my views, but my disability, really hit close to home. It helped me accept a lot about myself, and my future.
I lose my dad when I was little, at that age where parents promise they're never ever going anywhere. Although that was long ago this fear of the fact that those around me could go at any moment has been creeping up on me these past few years. I bought spiritfarer as a reward for studying so hard, but it's given me the oppurtunity to process my fears in a safe, cosy fictional envrionment. Thank you so much

i need to update this game but it's helped me how to properly process my grandmother's passing but also taught me how to process and grieve my own death as one person as i transition into who i truly am. this game has truly changed me and i am forever grateful

This game managed to do something with me, I always found it hard to feel some feelings, loss was one of these, or the sadness of someone leaving, I miss them but.. I don't feel a thing.. But.. With this game.. Suddenly something opened in me, suddenly such things start to get me and I feel things now I didn't before. It made me cry so much in the last few weeks, because I'm having feelings I never had before.
This game is amazing in so many ways and has resonated with so many people. This'll always have its place in my heart, thank you ThunderLotus and everyone else who has helped make this game a reality. Really made a homie cry.

I got the game for my own birthday gift ahead of time. I had seen some screenshots and just loved the critters/people in it. I cried when I realized I got to hug everyone in the game... I don't get to hug people rl, and have actually never done so. Aspbergers sort of stops that in me. So, I was super happy and then I realized abruptly, all the people/critters I hugged were not staying with me in-game... Yea. I took a break afterward. I really miss Gwen. I played more but had to say goodbye to Summer and Alice next. Horribly sad.

So...Jackie has no real resolution. Is that his whole story? He just went through life an angry loser and died basically unfulfilled? What was the message there? What was he supposed to do?
I sincerely apologize for replaying to a years-old comment... but that is kind of the point. I have known many a Jackie. It's not satisfying, no, but it is an invitation to see other Jackies in your life and try and fulfill them as best you can. But if they're as blinkered as Jackie himself, you can only do so much. And the tragedy they *can't* be fulfilled is beautiful in its own way.
