The true villain in final fantasy 7 is Hojo
Intelligent people realise this.
Sephiroth is a victim albeit his actions, Hojo is a disgusting maniac.
Worst part? They don't let you punish him NEARLY enough!
@@possiblepuzzles8137Hopefully part 3 of the remake trilogy will let us absolutely destroy him lol.
He does a great job at destroying himself with his self-mutilation by turning himself into one of his own experiments. I can only hope that after you defeat him, the pain from his mutation causes him to go into a fit of agony. Then he can feel what it was like for all the people he genetically altered over the decades.
@@nightmarishcompositions4536 Imagine if the battle against Hojo is when Vincent’s Chaos abilities are revealed.
Vincent deserved better!
So much better
I'm still shook at the fact She let Let Hojo Clap her Cheeks…like bruh🤮
intelligence and that white lab coat is sexy though
Hojo has seggs!!! 😂😂😂
Maybe she got an "ugly bastard" kink?
He got the BBC GENE, at least he had a good time lol
After all these years, I still can't get over it either....
Hojo is always doing his best to make you hate his guts.
Reminds me of Kefka. Evil just to be evil. My favorite kind of villains, no moral grey area nonsense.
@@Grey3minence Coincidentally, they are both currently voiced by the same Japanese VA LOL!
it doesn't help that in the remake he's played by the same dude who played the cabbage guy from avatar the last airbender
Damn, this darker and more sinister than I remember. Poor Vincent
Vincent’s going to F him up in Reunion
And I'm gonna help.
I hope you can travel to the area with the tree where Vincent and Lucresia would go as an Easter egg in Rebirth or at least the third game.
That would be cool!
They have to
Oh look, Sephiroth's actual mom!
I really do love the idea of Sephiroth is actually Vincent’s biological son through an affair. And Hojo finds out later through testing that Sephiroth isn’t actually his biological son, so he just inserts his own cells into Sephiroth the way he did with Jenova’s cells. I wouldn’t put it past Hojo to do something like that and be like, “Yes I am your father, Jenova is your mother.”
Vincent valentines might help him.who she is he has to find him before cloud kills him lol
Hope they do that for part 3
This is so canon to me too!!!! Vincent is Sephiroth's real father.
I hope so 2,it is what I believe, coz hojo is too fugly to be the dad
I love that theory when I first heard that 10 years ago and to be honest it feels so plausible for me too. Because look at Sephy, he has nothing of Hojo
Poor Vincent, I would love him to pieces and give him the world ❤
Vincent’s Scream at 4:45 scared me!
The indian soap-style visual effects are WILD. I love it.
Damn. She really pulled a Rose Quartz on this man.
🤣🤣
I never watched that show, only some parts about rose quartz abandoning Steven because she is pink diamond. But, can you please explain to me why lucrecia is rose quartz? I'm a little confused
@@ms.pirate I didn't understand the reference either
leaving this here for when a person with context shows up
Don’t you slander Lucrecia Crescent like this. She didn’t want to do anything wrong.
This has me wheezing 😂😂😂
I refuse to believe that Hojo is actually Sephiroth's biological father. he looks more like a silver haired combo of Lucrecia and Vincent. and acts more like a vincent if he had parental issues and was insane from the jenova cells.
believe what you want but it is what it is
@bilbof4854 C'mon Hojo, we all know you're not capable of slipping one past the goalie. But Vincent and Lucrecia definitely smashed beneath the Banora White tree.
Hey, in the story Hojo just married Lucrezia for legal reasons, he wouldn’t mind if the child is not his or not. Vincent always thought Sephiroth is his responsibility and sin to deal.
They need to do that for part 3
I always felt that the silver hair and green cat-like eyes are because of him being injected with Jenova cells, making him an alien-human hybrid.
As far as Vincent potentially being his biological father, it remains more or less fan fiction at this point.
Lucretia is a clown and the melodrama is a bit much in this game, yes, okay, but when she cries and begs to have Sephiroth back, it breaks my heart. 😞... 🥺
I just think Sephiroth is to beautiful to be hoyo's son...I used to think Rufus shinra was his father...
Isn't Rufus younger than Sephiroth?
J/k I know what you mean. He doesn't resemble Hojo at all.
Vincent is Sephiroths father.😅
@@ashleynoe1378 He is not. It is canon that Hojo is the father. Every wiki lists Hojo as the father. Not to mention that Lucrecia and Vincent did not even have a canon relationship in doc. He was in love with her but he reminded her to much of his father. Whose death she makes herself responsible for and Vincent found out about that later. So that would be your headcanon.
I'm guessing we'll get this backstory in the third game of the trilogy.
This game is awesome and masterpiece 😊
Hojo need to die in part 3.
He absolutely should but sadly won’t so long as DoC stays canon
@@majorxadamska deepground was on yuffie's dlc with Nero and Weiss, and there is a hint that Hojo will possess Weiss' body in the future just like in Dirge after facing Weiss in the combat simulator. So they are probably going to put some of dirge of cerberus on the third game when the party assaults Midgar. I think Vicent, Yuffie and probably Cait Sith will separate from the group for one or two chapters to have resolution to their stories (Vincent with Hojo/Weiss, Yuffie with Nero, Cait Sith with Scarlet/ and on a more abstract level Shinra's reality that it does more harm than good)
8:57 that's Joker's laugh🤣🤣🤣 Sad story, I know it, but I can't stop laughing at Hojo's laugh.
Everytime I see and hear him. I vomit
Lucrecia... I know she agreed to it, but... She only realized too late that it was wrong... All because of *his* manipulations on her...
Hojo is the real villain of this series.
@@LucreciaCrescentIsBestGirl Correct.
@@mariogirl8100 I’m not even joking. He was involved with, if not directly responsible for pretty much everything bad that happened in the compilation.
@@LucreciaCrescentIsBestGirl Yeah, that's why I said "Correct." BECAUSE IT'S TRUE! EVERYBODY HATES HOJO! THROW HIM INTO G.E.R'S ABILITY!
@@mariogirl8100 Everyone hates Hojo, at least all of us FF7 fans agree on that.
I was CON-VINCED Vincent was Sephy's dad and I'd still love for it to come true by the third game. Reunion? How epic would that be?
They look so similar in rebirth. My theory she was already knocked up by Vincent and Hojo wanted to use it as an experiment. That's why she got all emotional when telling Vincent she was sure blah blah. Guilt. Vincent said he has to atone for another sin. Meaning Sephiroth. I wonder..
No thanks.
Seriously put sephiroth with black hair and red eyes and you get vincent they legit look too damn similiar aint no way square didn't intentionally make it so
Ok. Now gimme FINALLY the Derge of Cerberus Remake Square!
My son's middle name is named after Vincent, I'm sure no one was surprised that he has final fantasy related name
Vincent has to be secretly sephiroths biological father. I don’t see any good dna coming from hojo
I mean, he is pretty psychotic. Let's be real.
Jesus the whole compilation was so dramatic lol. But that’s kinda part of the charm ig
Crazy ass story, for sure. Like everyone's actions and behavior is so weird in this game.
Lucrecia really screwed up big time and everyone is paying for it Vincent deserves better then her Lucrecia hope she never finds happiness and Vincent does
This is going to be a very long and venty rant, but I need to get this off my chest.
Far too often, I see people blaming Lucrecia for what happened to Vincent and Sephiroth. I can see some of the reasons for this, because she did make a few mistakes due to her guilt. But this is also where people start to massively misunderstand her.
She also clearly cared about Vincent. This much is evident from the fact that she tries to save him when he is shot by Hojo. Now, a lot of people will claim that she’s experimenting with him and Chaos. But there’s no evidence to support this. Who even came up with that idea? Oh wait, that’s right, it was Hojo. He once again manipulates Lucrecia into thinking that she’s done something wrong. I mean, he’s probably the least trustworthy person in the series, and people think his words mean anything?
While on this topic, she also very clearly loved Sephiroth. From the way she talks about him in the original game to the “give me back my son” confrontation in this one, it’s obvious that she cared very deeply about her son.
But let’s backtrack a little. I mentioned Hojo manipulating Lucrecia. Just looking at the way he interacts with her shows that he’s very clearly abusive towards her. Not only does he belittle her, but he also constantly gaslights her and takes advantage of her guilt in order to get what he wants. He hardly even lets her speak.
And yes, she did snap at Vincent, which was a little harsh. But can you blame her? She’s being abused and manipulated by Hojo, and isolated from the one person who cares about her. To top it all off, she’s pregnant. It can be hard to remember since it doesn’t really show in the cutscenes, but for many of the flashbacks, she’s pregnant with Sephiroth. So combine the guilt, gaslighting and fear with pregnancy hormones, and it’s no wonder she broke like this.
I also feel like I should bring up the woman that inspired Lucrecia. It’s a very old story, but one that has been depicted many times. The story takes place in Rome and is about a woman named Lucretia. She and her husband were an ideal couple, being kind and faithful to each other. But a man named Tarquin fell in lust with her. Not love, lust. One night, when Lucretia was asleep and alone, Tarquin broke into her room and tried to seduce her. Lucretia, of course, refused. Even when he threatened to kill her, she refused. It wasn’t until Tarquin threatened her husband’s life and reputation that Lucretia gave up, and Tarquin forced himself upon her. Once he was done, he left. When Lucretia’s husband returned, she told him what had happened. Her husband promised to get revenge, and she committed suicide out of guilt for what had happened.
Does that sound familiar? It’s literally the backstory of Lucrecia in the game. She was manipulated, threatened and (most likely) violated by a man who wanted her for selfish reasons. And she became so overwhelmed with guilt and despair that she tried to take her own life.
Another thing that people seem to ignore that Lucrecia tried to kill herself after Sephiroth was born and taken away. She literally says “I wanted to disappear. I wanted to die. But the Jenova inside me wouldn’t let me die,” in the original game. And in Dirge of Cerberus, she has lines like “before I go,” and “I can’t take it anymore.” There’s only one way that she would know that she couldn’t die, and the way she speaks gives a clear idea of what she intended to do.
In conclusion, Lucrecia Crescent is a woman who has suffered through a lot of trauma, and she doesn’t deserve the hate. She may have made mistakes, but nobody’s perfect. I’m tired of seeing her be treated so harshly in the fandom.
@LucreciaCrescentIsBestGirl No. I don't care what essays ya'll try to write to defend her. Bottom line is she was compliant in having her UNBORN BABY experimented on. Hojo, Gast, and her fucked up Sephiroth before he had a chance. Was she remorseful after? Yes, but only because she wasn't able to see or hold Sephiroth.
@@elizabethchint2391100% I have zero remorse for this woman.
@@elizabethchint2391 SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK
@@BlazingCosmos It's honestly insane how people try to paint her as a victim.
My problem with her is after all she did all she had done. She just crystal herself and try to escape reality. Without confront her mistake and try to make amends after all that Vincent was still willing to help her after his recovery. Oh but she just can’t move on RIGHT!!!, Had to feel sorry for herself and turn into a crystal. She had no character development from start to end all she ever did was feel sorry for herself not willing to become better and grow as a person. She doesn’t deserve any sympathy except for not able to care and see her own child
DOC really dropped the ball when it comes to character writing. Lucrecia is reduced to a whiny, crybaby womanchild with a poor sense of decision-making. I don't even have to point out that she was fully complicit in experimenting on her own child. I was hoping that Hojo brainwashed her into doing so.
This whole game was a bit meh...
@@herecomestheboi1285 Nah, Dirge Of Cerberus was lame.
this is interesting because, in one of the scrapped ideas, they were originally going to have lucrecia be drugged by hojo to get her to agree to have their child implanted with jenova cells 😬😬
The game wasn't great but don't lowball Hojo like that with Hojo's IQ you could put Obama as the president of a radical Neonazi group and both parties would enjoy it
Lucretcia wasn't really a "good or innocent person" here were talking a Shinra scientist and one that was in on the thing at that
her having regrets probably had a lot to do with her falling in love with Vincent and that also partly came from her initially pitying him through regret over his father's death
but she was already neck deep on the project
edit also he has always had a way with girls *Costa del Sol* baby
I mean, it’s very likely that she was manipulated and gaslit into doing what she did. She clearly regrets it.
They need to get Steve Blum on the phone and see if he's down to reboot this game.
He probably got fired with the rest of the ff7 crew. If not steve blum, then another wolverine!
(Hey! Sephiroth is played by 2 superman actors! We need to do the same for Vincent!)
@@ms.pirateThat is not true. He may not reprise his role but he’s not fired.
It seems they replaced Steve Blum with Matthew Mercer for Rebirth.
@@doodlebugfour7070 100% chance for that.
No. It needs to be buried in the trash, forever.
Is Lucrecia's VA the same as Yuna's? They sound very similar
No, her VA is April Stewart.
Wow I never noticed that but you’re right
As in Japanese shared as Lulu from FFX & Miyako "Yolei" Inoue & Rosa/Chichos in Original Digimon Adventure 02
Yuna's VA is Hedy Burress and yes they do sound similar
This is the question in my head all the while while watching. I just hear Yuna for some reason LOL
The true villains of FF7 are Hojo and Lucrecia. Absolute monsters.
Vincent really should've never gave up and fought harder to save Lucrecia and her son from Shinra and that mad scientist freak Hojo🙄😖
Lucrecia is not a child..... nor is she innocent. Don't let pretty privilege distract you from the fact that she's a horrible mother.
@@vDorgengoa I know Lucrecia wasn't exactly innocent but Vincent never hated her for what happened to his father. But she was making some big mistakes afterwards and Vincent should've done something to stop her.
@@gibbs615he would have gotten shot by JoJo a lot sooner than he did
@@skyestorm101 That's Hojo and he might have.
@@gibbs615 Yeah, I agree. Lucrecia is not innocent at all, but I don't want her anywhere near Hojo. He's clearly taking advantage of Lucrecia's unhinged mental state. I don't think Vincent should forgive her either, but he still needs to get her therapy. Lucrecia's an idiot, but at least she admits she's wrong unlike the morally corrupt Hojo.
Hopefully in vincent solo remake things can change. They might stick to the OG but since FF7 remake and rebirth might change the fate of lucrecia and Vincent. Lucrecia being freed from jenova cells and crystal then vincent is no longer immortal and might fine some one who is more worthy partner in life.
atleast meet her son

I hope Sephiroth can meet his mother in the third game, I hope he can redeem himself. Couldn’t he have confronted him and told him the truth about Lucrecia?

Lucrecia deserved better, but Hojo was an asshole!
Agreed.
Vincent deserved better
@@trifurobert1349 Blame Hojo for that. He was the one in charge.
The part where she says "if it only concerns me, then yeah im sure," kind of implies that vincent is the dad but didnt want to claim it or something. It doesnt really make sense any other way. Like she has no reason to be apprehensive to vincent. Anyone care to elaborate on what happened when vincent saw whatever moment between hojo and lucrecia? How did vincent react? What were hojo and lucrecia doing to make him react? Was there room for misinterpretation or coercion from hojo to lucrecia? This video skips from them meeting to her already being pregnant.
I'm pretty sure she wanted him to confess his love for her.
We need a dirge of cerberus remaster for pc in between ff7 rebrith and ff7 resolution (same way we got crisis core reunion in between remake and rebirth)
Better gameplay would be huge, but I'm not a fan of shooters anyway.
I'm sorry, but Lucrecia is one of the worst women created and written in the history of the Final Fantasy series. I don't understand how there are people who defend her. She was not stupid, she was an incredible scientist who acted in the name of science and decided to do all those things. Currently, this type of woman dressed with sheep's clothing is toxic. She was just as obsessed with experiments as her partner. That's why she liked Hojo more than Vincent. I can't feel any shame for her. She pays for her sins and they are not Vincent's. He tried to talked with her and she didn't want to understand. The story is darker than it seems and Vincent is very masochistic in love. That's it. To fix it, she would have to come out of her crystal confinement, look for his crazy son (the victim of the entire game actually) and explain everything to him how it is so that Sephiroth can kill the real villain of FFVII, Hojo.
Sephiroth is gone. He's completely lost his mind. There is no reasoning with a madman who wants to destroy the planet and make it his personal space ship. The least Lucrecia can do is to put Sephiroth out of his misery. It's the least she could do to atone for her sins and make up for everything she's done to him.
Hojo may be the root of all evil in FF7, but Sephiroth is still a villain. He was also an adult when he chose to set Nibelheim on fire, kill numerous townspeople, kill the remaining Cetra, gaslight a mentally fragile young man, trying to severely damage the planet, spread a near-incurable pandemic, etc.
@@EvelynL.1112I mean if I were Sephiroth I would do the same. Humans do too much damages and won’t take responsibility for anything.
@@alimichalkan8046 You speak like a fanatic who won't accept the reality that murdering countless innocent people is objectively wrong. Not all humans are evil, he had no right to take the lives of innocent men, women, and especially the children.
@@EvelynL.1112 I think that would actually be a insane change if Lucrecia would have to kill her own son. But that's maybe more fitting for a fanfic 🤔
If remember correctly the Lucretia vincent see inside the crystal is just his imagination or his way to cope with his problem i can't remember this is an old game i play the combat is shit but the story is interesting
They have made Lucretia insufferable.
Another one for the "JoJo but with a H is going to be the big bad for the Re:Make trilogy
He already was responsible for pretty much every bad thing that happened, so yeah.
I still doubt she ever loved him romantically before she ended up in the crystal. There is so much guilt especially when she knows Vincents father, accident and everything that happened to Vincent and Vincent himself is a constant reminder of his father and her teacher. I know Vincent genuinely loved her all this time but Lucretia one bad thing happened afgter another and guilt is such a powerful feeling
So this means Sephiroth’s second name is Crescent.
out of all the ff7 side games, DoC has got to be my least favorite. The writing for this game really sucks.
I agree. Dirge Of Cerberus is one of the most poorly-written works of the Compilation Of FF7. The story is just frustratingly sad, especially after both OG FF7 and Advent Children ended on a happy note.
@@EvelynL.1112 the game felt like its from a fanfiction. Crisis Core did a much better job in handling characters. I guess for DoC I didn't like how they depict Lucrecia and the orange hair kid.
@@monn-tan The orange girl is named Shelke. She's not actually a kid. She's actually 19 but she stayed physically 9 because of all of the experiments on her for the past 10 years.
@@EvelynL.1112 thanks for the info but in the end I don't really care much about that character lol
@@monn-tan I don't like Shelke that much either. In the end of that multiplayer mode only available in Japan, it's revealed the player character was in a simulation controlled by Shelke all along and she mocks and taunts the player character as they die. She doesn't suffer the repercussions of her actions and she doesn't admit guilt to what she did. Yet, we're supposed to still sympathize with her just because she got captured by Shinra and experimented on.
lucrecias acting is kind of like yunas or maybe im missing something
Why does Lucrecia sound like Yuna?
No idea. Both are similar though. It took me like 10 playthroughs to realize that Lightning from FFXIII and Liara from Mass Effect were the same person.... And she has a very unique voice. No clue how I was so oblivious.
Why does Lucretia have the same last name as Freya?
and this is why why with matthew mercer being the new Vincent in the final fantays Vll remake trilogy i want square to cast marisha ray as the new luceria! imagine how much more believable their interactions would be with their actors being lovers IRL
F*ck me, DoC was objectively terrible.

This look like FFX remaster
It could use a proper remaster, I used the same upscaling models for every texture in the game. 😂
But I'm surprised how well it came out at the same time.
She had no control at matter
It always confuses me when Red XIII in OG said RIP to Hojo after killing him. Like, why are they always showing mercy to Hojo it doesn’t make sense.😊
Hojo was at least trying to let Nanaki get some 🍑. So he couldn't be too mad at him.

This game just reinforces that best boi is still Gigachad Hojo.
You have no taste then , he couldn't be anymore repulsive, and I hope they kill him off, in the final part of the trilogy.
