It depends which locks you have. Some lock sets have a lot of key combinations and a shop wouldn't possibly buy and store all sets. Unless of course he have the oem/stock locks that come from the dealerships. They don't have many key combinations usually.
I agree, I guess because the guy speaks the truth. You know some people ignore the truth and the reality. Honestly that is probably the best option. And so what if you carry the keys on you or in your trunk? Fuck it. Id rather do that than have these low life cock suckers stealing the rims off cars in my neighborhood. It'd be nice if there was a lock that would omit an ear pearcing skreetch to make the person fuck off
The problem is not the locks, It's the fact that people leave the key in the glove box and the thieves knows that. That's why the window is always busted in these cases.
You leave the key in the car so that if you need to change your tires when you are not near home you can do it. For example, when you get a flat tire. But you have to either lock it in your glove box or hide it somewhere only you can find so that it's not easy for someone to break into your car and use it to steal your locked rims.
Two wheel locks works, I had a 7 side hex key that came with the rims but living in downtown San Jose where everybody is a mechanic and anybody can take one of your neighbors tools and use that to steal people’s rims. I had my rims from my 05 Si hatchback stolen twice so i had it. My 3rd set of rims which was made in Taiwan this time had an open cone and a Mcgard. My 2 previous rims was made by Enkei and they were JDM’s.
Damn. That sucks that your wheels were stolen twice already... Especially JDM Enkeis. Did the stolen wheels have any wheel locks on? If so, which locks?
@@FrakkingCreations they do, it came with a regular hex 6 size , like an Allen wrench 3/8. And also my car was parked inside a garage with my wife’s civic sedan. Happened around 2007 and while my wife car was brand new. I guess the thief doesn’t ay know how to drive manual so they just took the rims.
That will work better as long as you are ok with the inconvenience. Note too that the type of rim you have also matters. If the rims lug nut holes are not small and deep someone can also use a vice grips to grip on to the lug and then use a breaker bar to loosen.
Oh wow. It's great getting viewers that far away from us. Thank you for the nice comment. We're always happy when our videos are useful to our viewers. Please subscribe and share our videos with friends and family. We appreciate the help in growing our channel.
I had a different kind of set for my beloved Evo 9. It was Rays brand and actually a whole set of 20 very light yet strong aluminum lug nuts. 4 out of the 20 had 7 sides only with a groove on one side. The position of the groove gave difference from other sets. I kept my baby on a fenced yard so I don't know if it would protect my Wolk rims. I liked it cause they looked alike with the non locking ones.
I have those on my Lexus. Aside from the key, each lug have plastic inserts that would require an allen key. Another slow down for the thieves. Rays ftw!
Did I understand you to say that you use 2 different types of wheel locks on a particular wheel? I was thinking of doing that, but wasn't sure if it was feasible from a functionality and safety standpoint. I understand the inconvenience aspect of having 2 different locks, and I don't mind it.
Yes. I did that with my last car. Both of the wheel lock lug nuts you see in the video. They were both from Gorilla but were different styles/models. It's feasible but there are factors that would affect how well they work. For example, some wheel locks work better than others. If your wheels don't cover the lock lugs completely and your locks stick out like on winter wheels then it's very easy for someone to remove them. Having wheels that cover around the locks properly make it harder to be removed without the key. You also want to make sure you always have the keys available but hidden or locked away in the car so that the thief doesn't just break into your car and use them to remove the wheels. I'm thinking of doing another video to complement this one in the future. I will include this and other info in it.
If your investment is so expensive that it warrants it, then install an active GPS tracking unit on all of your assets when parked. These can provide GPS location coordinates the same as your cell phone. These can be tracked at least up until the thieves remove them, the same as your cell phone. This will provide the last location when it is shut off. Not sure whether they have sturdy enough ones to install inside your tires yet, but if so, the thieves will not be breaking tires loose and searching for it while stealing them. Also, it would be a good idea to insure your assets, just as your entire vehicle if your value is significant. It all depends on how much it is worth to you.
@@FrakkingCreations There are new very small ones just coming out on the market, but just not sure whether they would handle the wheel spin and/or bumps. The only thing is, this will only lead police to where your wheels are and hopefully recoverable. Still leaves your car on blocks and a big inconvenience. Though, this will definitely incarcerate these wheel theft rings and hopefully weed the less technologically advanced ones out for a while. :)
My issue isnt my rims.. theyre 31 year old crusty 15 inch rims on my Wagoneer lol. Its the tires.. Those Mud terrains i got are $250 a peice.. not to mention the spare.. Could get away with $1000 in tires on my Jeep, The spinning wheel locks i think are the best, the gorilla two or locks similar as you showed can get a regular locket right over.. i noticed that just looking at them in the packedge. The spinning lock you cant hammer a socket on, and youd really have to make some noise to get those spinning things off. So i use them. and for my spare tire i also use a thick tire cable. So unless they got bolt cutter and wanna make noise they arent getting my wheels. Like you said, i always park under lights and in more upscale areas. I dont drive to D.C or big cities and leave my vehicle specially at night.
Thanks for commenting. Those are expensive tires. Definitely worth protecting. If you want extra protection, you can also look into Advanced wheel locks or Rimlox. These are two of the newer tech wheel locks now. I'm waiting for these 2 companies to get me a set to review.
Professional thieves will already have tools to remove any lug nut lock. All you can do is park smart and keep tabs on it. Luckily I have a '97 Blazer with '91 Blazer wheels, so no one is really gonna steal these ones that are intentionally painted to look like crap XD
What If I used 2 different types of locks? Like 8 In total, one of each on every wheel to make It harder for the sucumbags? I think If they saw how It would be a waste of time and they might get caught they would not bother and just move on. I think I will try that once I get a set of Aftermarket wheels.
Yes. That would be more secure. just make sure to use two different types. For example, one that's patterned and one that's splined. Then make sure you tighten them properly and torque to specs and again after 100km of driving. Note that as with all security measures it's not 100% and if the thieves have all the time in the world if you park your car in an abandoned place then they would still be able to steal your rims. And if they have the right tools it may not take too long as well. But as you said. It may get them to looks elsewhere. Good luck with your selection of locks and enjoy your new rims!
Frakking Creations I just bought some aftermarket wheels. Have you heard of Muteki? I want to buy some of those. The new lugs I bought are splined and the Muteki are Internal
Frakking Creations they're actually open end locking lug nuts. I apologize for the wrong info. I recently bought a 5 lug set (20 pc) Gorilla Splined locking lug nuts and I was thinking of getting some slightly different ones as well. The Muteki are almost an inch longer though and I don't know If that will be too noticeable.
On my old car i was using 2 sets of locks. 2 different ones on each wheel. They are the 2 Gorilla ones that are in the video. They are also different models so that the keys are also different and one had a collar around it. You can also use different brands too if you can find ones that fit your car.
Thanks you for commenting! Much appreciated. Please share our videos with anyone else you think they will help. We have quite a few car related videos so check them out too as you may find them to your liking.
I had a patterned lock strip on me when changing a flat in a remote area. When I finally got to a garage, I was told that thief’s have the same tools to remove the locks as they do. I think I’ll switch to splined, they look stronger.
Look into Advanced Wheel Locks too. This video is a bit dated and there are newer types of wheel locks now. Advanced wheel locks is one of the better ones I've found and am waiting for them to send me a set to review.
Bolt extractor. I almost purchased these locks until I saw the video removing them in seconds. Doesn't make sense to spend over $100 on Advanced. May as well just get a set or 2 of the other locks available. Your video is very to the point and helpful. Thank you.
I don't go to bars or clubs. Thieves cruise the parking lots for cars they want. I stay away from malls too. Its another place for thieves to steal cars. Sporting events as well. I never leave my car parked in the driveway, ever. I have a two car garage and our cars are parked inside. Your garage is not a self storage unit. Its made for your car. When you park inside the garage the thieves cannot steal what they cannot see. We never leave the garage door open. When we leave it open its open just long enough to do what we need to do then we close the garage door. I had a truck that I really liked and it was a very badass looking truck. I went to a club. When I decided to leave I didn't see my truck where I parked it. I thought I parked it somewhere else. I didn't. The police called me two days later. The found my truck stripped of anything that could be unbolted; seats, hood, doors, tailgate, wheels, etc. and they set it on fire. The truck totally destroyed. When I went to the storage yard to take a look I walked by it three times before realized the burned out chassis was or used to be my truck. Now I buy plain looking cars. The lowest trim level available.
That would work better than just the locking lug nuts. A 2-way alarm would be best and even one that has cell capabilities where you can get notifications on your smartphone from almost anywhere in the country. Just remember that nothing is 100%.
For anyone that thinks wheel lock could completely prevent thieves from stealing your wheels, you must be out of your mind. Wheel locks were meant to slow down the thieves just like how safes does.
Brazen crooks stole all 4 wheels & tires right in my driveway using the Gorilla brand with the notched outer spline for the key.. Thought these locks were better than that.. Big Fail Gorilla...
Yeah. Can be a hassle to have to take each wheel off. It's definitely a balance of convenience and security. Which locks do you use? Different brands and models?
I haven't tried all those as I haven't heard of Colorlugs or DP Accessories. I did a Rimgard video and I do like their product. I am still waiting for Advanced Wheel Locks and Rimlox to send me their products to review. It's taking a while possibly because of the pandemic. Here's the Rimgard review video: ua-cam.com/video/R6YG4wQuZwU/v-deo.html
I use two different wheel locks, and cover another with a dark scotch band. So I put 2 difficulties and an X, x means you don't know what is inside. The objetive with two locks and an x? is to make thief choose next car. Soon I will replace the cover with some decoration that make not understanding what is it
Maybe chose 1 wheel to put 5 locknuts on. And 1 locknut on the rest. They may not bother if they know the 1 really secure wheel aint coming off. No point trying to steal 3 wheels
Could work. But not sure if the thief is smart enough to check before attempting. In the end he/she may end up taking off several wheels before realizong this. Also, you would have to buy 5 kits as most don't sell one lock nut/bolt at a time
I got the gorilla original acorn lock 24pack with the gorilla swivel outer ring 4 pack. Hoping to install. Viper 5706 alarm for when my rims come late july/early august
Why would you say to leave the key in a locked glove box instead of a locked trunk where the spare tire, jack, and lug nut wrench are? It's a lot easier to pry open a locked glove box than a locked trunk. I also think it is dump when wheel manufacturers tell you to put the key code cardin the glove box. Are you going to order a spare key out on the road when you have a flat? Leave the key code card at home.
I feel that if the crook breaks into the vehicle, that the trunk is very easy to pop open using the trunk release on the driver side. Though some vehicles allow the trunk release to be locked (for example, if it's an electronic one), but most don't lock. At least with the glove box, they would also need to actually break the locked glove box open. In the end, everyone's vehicle is different and they would have to decide for themselves which is safest. Some glove boxes don't lock either. Perhaps hiding it would be best. Just don't forget where it is. Agreed on the the key code. It definitely should be left at home.
Think about how many thieves bought all these sets just to go out and start matching them up. With no noise or issues once they got a hit. Idk I’m skeptical 🤨
It's a possibility. Though with aftermarket ones they do have more key combinations so they would have to be lucky to have the right ones and to bring all of them. It would be easier to just bring a set.of 12 point sockets to try and hammer on. The OEM ones from car manufacturers tend to have less key combinations so maybe for those they could get all the keys for those. There are newer wheel locks now that are better at defeating the socket attacks. I've done a video of one called Rimgard and will be doing two others when I get their sets in. Subscribe or check back to see them when I get the videos out in the coming months.
The best you can hope wheel locks will achieve is to make a potential thief think “hmmm…. never mind, I will try another car”. The best way to keep your wheels secure is to fit a different set of locking nuts to all 5 studs on each wheel, and of course with 5 different keys. And also, keep the keys somewhere hidden, somewhere ONLY You can find. A bit of a headache for a mechanic of course, and DON’T forget to leave the keys for the mechanic Before you leave your car with them…….
That's true. Pretty much all security devices are defeatable with enough time, resources and will. The aim is always to make it more difficult and add time and increase the chance of getting caught to hopefully deter someone from trying in the first place. Even though the locks on the doors of your house are easily defeatable using a drill to drill out the pins, you still lock your doors. It doesn't mean that everyone should stop using door locks, either.
Very true. Also the wheels themselves would affect how easy it is to remove a lock without the key. A big hole for the lugs to go in make it easier for the theif to use tools to remove the locks.
Hello thanks for doing this video you explained it very well. We are a new company with a wheel locks that cannot be removed. The name of our company is 5 Star Lug Locks. I would be happy to send you a set of our locks for your review.
There are typical ones that are easily defeated now. The 3 new ones that take things to the next level are out and I plan on doing a review of them when I get them. I've done a review of one of them already... Rimgard. Checkout that video to help. Then there is Rimlox which I will be getting in about 2 weeks and a review will be out another 2 weeks after. The last one is Advanced wheel locks. In the end, which one you get depends on the wheel you have as not all of those 3 will fit all wheels. Also, your budget will be another thing to consider as the price range varies. Alternatively, the gorilla guard 2 aren't too bad but they may not fit aftermarket wheels with small lug nut holes. Remember though, that nothing is 100% with wheel locks. They all can be removed in the end. Just depends how much money and time the thief has to spend. Hope that helps.
I just got after market wheels and now I'm trying to get lock lugs. After seeing this I feel like they option is to leave your car somewhere safe. Cus can't stop those thiefs from buying these keys. Just saying, thats what i would do if I steal wheels for a living
Well, you can't buy all the key combinations. Unless you know there were only a few keys plus the wheels you want to steal have a certain brand of locks on them. At least some take longer to take off like the Gorilla Guard ones with the sleeve or McGard ones with the free-spinning sleeves around. I'll be doing a video on the latest wheel locks in the coming month or so look out for that. If you want to check them out earlier let me know and I'll send you the links to theirs sites. But you still definitely should leave your car in safe places. Sometimes not always possible so a good set of locks plus a 2-way tilt car alarm would be good ideas.
Nope...in Hayward, Ca there's been at least two whole wheel thefts in apartment complexes here WITH overnight security, and Cameras. Both crime victims had ALL FOUR of their tires from 2017-18 Toyotas completely stolen and the cars were put on cinderblocks. Both also had these shitty gimmicky "tire locks" on them. Both thefts likely happened within 20 minute time spans...so...I've yet to find something to Prevent or actually make things difficult. One of the cars was in a carport located directly in front of a camera AND right by a highly visible entrance.
He said it slows them down buddy it's like having a password on your phone if somebody really wants it they will get it but it makes it harder that's it.
I'd say they work. My locking wheel nut key snapped. So I had to take an angle grinder and a hammer and chisel to get my locking wheel nuts off. Along with a bolt removal socket. So yeah you can take them off but not without a lot of noise and effort
@@FrakkingCreations Yeah it was but got them off after a while. I don't fully know what brand they were but they were patterned. As soon as the shell broke off around, it came off easily
They look like they will work good. Though they won't look nice if you don't use have caps, wheel covers or center caps because the wheel bolts will stick out through them. Thanks for sharing though!
Surprisingly if the lugs stick out far enough, A big pair of vice grips and a pry par and you can break loose just about any lug nut. Even the round ones with the collars. If you can pinch it hard enough to basically crimp the collar since more wheel lugs are tightened between 60-80ftlbs of torque they can be broken loose.
I agree. It would be best to use a wheel where the lug nuts/bolts do not stick out of the bolt hole. This way making it hard to get vise grips on them.
@@FrakkingCreations do you have any other tips for the safety of wheels? After that rampage on that dodge dealership(over 300 vehicles lost their wheels) i am starting to be way more concerned
Have you purchased your wheels yet? If not then this is one area that might help. Wheel locks work better if the hole the lock lug/bolt go into is small. Small in that it just fits the lock lug/bolt. This way there isn't a lot of room for a thief to use an ordinary 19 mm socket to remove the lock. If they can't hammer the socket onto the lock easily because it doesn't fit in the hole then that method doesn't work. Just make sure the key for the lock fits though. And don't buy rims where the lugs/bolts are out in the open like winter rims. In that case, a thief can use a vise grip and breaker bar to take your lock lug/bolt off. Some aftermarket rims are like this. Does that help?
Well your missing the point, it's not to secure the wheels is to make it more difficult for the thief, even though if they want your stuff they are going to get it however lets put this example if you have the same wheels I do but I have different combination wheels and your car doesn't who do you think they are going to target? exactly that's why people use them nothing is safe in this world just make it a little harder for people and they will target the easy prey.
I hate these damn things. Tire guy cross threaded the locking lug nut on. I have been trying for three days to remove it without destroying the wheel. If you live in 90pct of the country these are worthless. Thankfully i was only rotating tires and not on side of the road with a flat. Beware!!!!!!!
These security devices are a double edged sword. It can deter thieves but on the other side cause problems for you if you lose your key or as in your case, incompetent mechanics cross thread the locks on. They probably used the impact wrench to put the nuts on. You're not supposed to do that. Always hand thread the nuts on first. You should have the shop reimburse you for any costs you incurred in this whole situation. It's no different than losing your house keys or someone damaging your lock so that your keys won't work on the locks. Wheel locks have their uses and if used correctly don't cause much problems. If anyone ever gets into this situation, look for a shop that has the tools and experience to remove these. It will be sooo much b and probably worth your time
Better yet how about taking the locks off your wheel and put the original lug nut back on it before going into the shop. Then when the work is complete reinstall the wheel locks yourself to insure it will be threaded on correctly. This will avoid incompetent mechanics cross threading the locks on.
I've always thought using two locks on each wheel is soo much better. yea it makes losing a key way worse.. but the thief would take twice the amount of time and might pass it up entirely.
Are you guys willing to send a set for me to review? I'm planning another wheel lock video soon and having this product to show can let more people know about this other way to protect their wheels. This older wheel lock video has over 179K views now.

Yes, theft is typically a crime of opportunity. So anything to make it tougher helps.
No, you can buy the kits to remove any wheel lock nut on Amazon.

You leave the key in the car so that if you need to change your tires when you are not near home you can do it. For example, when you get a flat tire. But you have to either lock it in your glove box or hide it somewhere only you can find so that it's not easy for someone to break into your car and use it to steal your locked rims.
Very nice video. Thank you for a very thoughtful overview of how to best approach adding wheel locks to our anti-theft systems.
Thank you. Glad you found it useful.
Use good wheel locks, have a motion alarm and turn your front wheels when parked.
What purpose does turning your wheels when parked serve? Just curious. Thanks
@@skleenis im guessing it would be harder to get an impact on the lug nuts closest to the inside of the wheel well. actually a great tip
@@JoeRycoVideos Thanks for the reply! Luckily I was smart enough to figure that out and started doing it when I park now.
I will buy 5 different types of wheel locks and put different lock on each wheel. So 5 different locks on each wheel
That will work better as long as you are ok with the inconvenience. Note too that the type of rim you have also matters. If the rims lug nut holes are not small and deep someone can also use a vice grips to grip on to the lug and then use a breaker bar to loosen.
Frakking Creations yeah you are correct
May as well use super glue too?
If the wheels are expensive enough, I would use a wheel lock on each lug.
5 different keys lol

Very simple, informative and helpful. Thank you for the time & efforts you put in for this video.
Thank you for the feedback. It let's us know what is working and helping viewers like you.
Nice. Sounds like it looked good and protected your rims
Thank you
You're welcome!
Good points. Though i haven't heard of individual GPS trackers for wheels before.
@@buzzpennywinner6000 good to know. Thanks!
When I lost my lock but I got a 18mm socket put a tack weld in and Beat it into one of the splines on the splined nut had all 4 off within 10 mins
That's good info. Thanks.
So that how they do it.
I use three wheel locks on each wheels just to slow the thieves down.
You must have a nice set of rims!
can you answer my question above brotha? (:
Same here
Gary Miller that’s really smart. I just got my tires and wheels stolen for the second time. I’m skeptical of the wheel lock really working.
Would be interested in knowing what your setup was. What rims, what locks you used, etc...
Great video. Thanks for posting.

Get an alarm that works off of a level. As soon as the car gets jacked up it will go off
Michael Cuff how much did that cost you and from what brand?
Tilt sensor works very well! Any car alarm shop should have them for sale!
Professional thieves will already have tools to remove any lug nut lock. All you can do is park smart and keep tabs on it. Luckily I have a '97 Blazer with '91 Blazer wheels, so no one is really gonna steal these ones that are intentionally painted to look like crap XD
Loooool
I've seen Muteki locks but have not seen any internal splined ones before. Mutekis do look good though
I didn't know gorilla have different patterns/types. Recently bought acorn type but will rtn and buy type that cant slip a lug nut. Thx for info dude
Np. Enjoy your new locks
so are saying you use 2 different types of lug locks, and your mixing both on each wheel? Are they both gorilla brands, or what's the other one?
On my old car i was using 2 sets of locks. 2 different ones on each wheel. They are the 2 Gorilla ones that are in the video. They are also different models so that the keys are also different and one had a collar around it. You can also use different brands too if you can find ones that fit your car.

Also, if you have wheels that are supported, another newer wheel lock I did a review on is called Rimgard.

Thanks for sharing. Sorry about what happened to your truck.
welp, yesterday i was a victim of this and all my wheels are gone and my window was shattered, looking into getting wheel locks
Sorry to here that. That really sucks.
What about lug nuts + proximity and tilt alarm? That’s what I’m about to do when I buy my new wheels
That would work better than just the locking lug nuts. A 2-way alarm would be best and even one that has cell capabilities where you can get notifications on your smartphone from almost anywhere in the country.
Just remember that nothing is 100%.
Ive heard that they just use big vise grips on the lug nuts. So if u see someone bent down by ur wheels shoot them! Lol!
For anyone that thinks wheel lock could completely prevent thieves from stealing your wheels, you must be out of your mind. Wheel locks were meant to slow down the thieves just like how safes does.
Kevin Lam yes. ps..........

That's with most of the security systems
No one thinks they completely stop thieves. The lock on your front door isnt meant to completely stop thieves either.

Did you try colorlugs, gorilla-auto, DPAccessories Wheel Locks or Advanced Wheel Locks, or Rimgard® wheel lock ?
I haven't tried all those as I haven't heard of Colorlugs or DP Accessories. I did a Rimgard video and I do like their product. I am still waiting for Advanced Wheel Locks and Rimlox to send me their products to review. It's taking a while possibly because of the pandemic.

I use two different wheel locks, and cover another with a dark scotch band. So I put 2 difficulties and an X, x means you don't know what is inside. The objetive with two locks and an x? is to make thief choose next car. Soon I will replace the cover with some decoration that make not understanding what is it
Gr8 info. I lost my key and number.. So i gonna have to theft my own wheels. 😁
Trying to see how?
There are stud/bolt removers you can buy too. And depending on the type of lock you might be able to use a 17mm or 19mm socket
I have the sleeve guard from Gorilla and my normal tuner lug key fits over lug and between the sleeve...
Nice setup!
Great Video.
Thank you!
Just look at music videos from the '80s: hair bands put the wheel lock key in their front pocket.
Here's the Rimgard video: ua-cam.com/video/R6YG4wQuZwU/v-deo.html
The best you can hope wheel locks will achieve is to make a potential thief think “hmmm…. never mind, I will try another car”.
The best way to keep your wheels secure is to fit a different set of locking nuts to all 5 studs on each wheel, and of course with 5 different keys. And also, keep the keys somewhere hidden, somewhere ONLY You can find. A bit of a headache for a mechanic of course, and DON’T forget to leave the keys for the mechanic Before you leave your car with them…….
locks keep honest people honest... that is about it..
koch I don’t understand. Explain please?
They will slow down the thieves but can’t stop them .. there are videos all over the net that give you instructions on how to remove them easily ….
You want the locks to be really short, any length and they can be taken off easier... but if they’re really short they’re tougher to get off ...
Very true. Also the wheels themselves would affect how easy it is to remove a lock without the key. A big hole for the lugs to go in make it easier for the theif to use tools to remove the locks.
Frakking Creations .... True
Most spline come off easily with a 17mm socket
What about the Mcgard pattern style wheel locks?
It’s a plus my car is to low for most Jacks

Thanks for watching my video. Do you have a website for you wheel locks? Also, what sizes do your locks come in and do you have lock bolts?
Hi. Could you send a set for review? Also, any plans for lock bolts?

Ok. What do you mean by original?
@@FrakkingCreations I'm trying to buy a very good one but I don't witch one are the best can u help me I'm new to this but I want the best one?

Well, you can't buy all the key combinations. Unless you know there were only a few keys plus the wheels you want to steal have a certain brand of locks on them.
At least some take longer to take off like the Gorilla Guard ones with the sleeve or McGard ones with the free-spinning sleeves around.

But you still definitely should leave your car in safe places. Sometimes not always possible so a good set of locks plus a 2-way tilt car alarm would be good ideas.

Where can this service or tool be acquired?
Very odd. Not too far in Stockton, 6 cars all Toyotas 2017-2018 all wheels stolen within 2 weeks.
Interesting. I wonder if they were just stock oem wheels and wheel locks. Probably same criminals. Thanks for sharing.
I'd say they work. My locking wheel nut key snapped. So I had to take an angle grinder and a hammer and chisel to get my locking wheel nuts off. Along with a bolt removal socket. So yeah you can take them off but not without a lot of noise and effort

The primary thing you are accomplishing with wheel locks is pissing off your mechanic when you fail to provide the adapter.
"Make sure to keep your key code in case you lose your key"
Or just hammer a 19mm socket on the fucker and send it.
Not really. Some of them have a sleeve that needs to be removed before you can hammer a 19mm socket on it. Like the Gorilla one shown in the video.
Just use all the different kinds of locks so they have to get a bunch of different tools
You put wheel locks on a Nissan Altima?! Why?
It was on aftermarket wheels
Surprisingly if the lugs stick out far enough, A big pair of vice grips and a pry par and you can break loose just about any lug nut. Even the round ones with the collars. If you can pinch it hard enough to basically crimp the collar since more wheel lugs are tightened between 60-80ftlbs of torque they can be broken loose.
I agree. It would be best to use a wheel where the lug nuts/bolts do not stick out of the bolt hole. This way making it hard to get vise grips on them.
Weld the rim to the hub. Then remove the lug nuts.
Would be funny to see the thief's reaction on that.
Hmm,if you used 4 different sets and an alarm?
It still won't guarantee that your wheels won't get stolen. But it makes it a lot harder and more likely the thief will look elsewhere.
@@FrakkingCreations Wow,i never thought of that,Thank you very much for this, huge help, will choose my rims based on that.Once again thanks!

Somebody should come out with a cheap crappy looking snap on cover for wheels to use as a disguise...what you need is camouflage...haha
My tires are worth more than my rims lol
I’m gonna use 6 different locks 🥴

Yeah. Especially if using 2 different brands and types of wheel locks that need different methods to defeat. They would need to bring more tools.
