Couple things: 1.) Great animation, love the style. 2.) Great interpretation of the scene. 3.) This also shows how great an actor and Doctor McGann is. Really shows that when given good writing and proper direction, an actor really can lean into a character. Would not be surprised if the Big Finnish audios with his Doctor are considered an almost, lost season of Doctor Who with the 8th Doctor. Heck they're officially licensed by BBC, they basically ARE official seasons with the 8th Doctor.

Splendid animation! So much character and energy behind this, somewhat cartoonish yet that style I'd argue can work just as well as a more "realistic" animation for Doctor Who. BBC, please, can we get official animated versions of some of Big Finish's episodes, even just the 8th Doctor ones... please? I'm begging here.
This is amazing! I wish there was more animated Dr. Who content, especially with Big Finish. There are a few out there, but this in particular is just so expressive and vibrant. You seriously did a superb job bringing this to life. It was just so emotive and fluid.
This is incredible. I'm the biggest fan of 8, so more animations like this would be awesome. Love the 8/Charley duo. Maybe a Scherzo animation next? That would be top notch

IT BLOWS MY MIND, that fans of so many shows and movies on UA-cam and all over the internet produce with JUST a computer, spare time and passion a quality of work that totally out does work created by huge movie and TV companies with endless money and resouces. It makes me want to learn to create even more intense than before. WHY? Because I have so many ideas that are screaming to be set free. Well done and thank you SO much for giving us magic in a cold soul less world.

This is honestly the best style if animation I’ve scene for doctor who, with the exception to maybe moon-base and the tenth planet though that has its own problems, But its so appealing to watch, its expressive while still being limited enough animation so to do such long scenes a classic who story would require, and the character designs are on point for showing the actor, character, and stylisation of the animation… those 3 things are stuff LOADS of shows have attempted, doctor who included and not succeded(4th doctors design in sharda animation) The only thing i can criticise is that maybe some more composition elements may have made it even better, such as the light from a burning candle but thats me nitpicking a youtube video the same i would a tv show This is absolutely brilliant and i really hope you make more and as an animator id be glad to help make more because of how good this is!

Given this history I would love it if the 8th Doctor ever encounters the 10th Doctor (I hope so since they have been doing the Out of Time series with Big Finish) to give him shade for marrying Queen Elizabeth I the Virgin Queen. 8th Doctor: "If I couldn't marry Queen Edith, you certainly should not be marrying the Virgin Queen." 10th Doctor: "Not now, please. We are in the middle of running for our lives. You can chastise me later."

Just realised that charley saying things are like cartoons borders on anachronistic, given cartoon shorts had only just become mainstream by the time of the r101.
I always thought it was in the film. Though, now I know it's meant to be dark green. He did have a blue one in the comics though. So, I guess he's just wearing his blue jacket.
@@DakNJaxter The film is most clearly and definitely a forest green, along with his time war era jacket. There is two variants in the audio adventures, there’s his casual leather blue jacket and also, like you have animated here, a blue frock coat - so i guess this one does work 🤷♂️

For me, DW came back in 2001 when McGann joined Big Finish. It wasn't TV but it was the next best thing at the time.
