    I just tried to paint this following your tutorial and while yours is by far much better than mine I'm impressed with how well I did. I think yours if more saturated than mine. Can you maybe do a tutorial showing mixing your paint in frame as well? I didn't know if you can fit that in frame. I know I tend to water my pigment down too much and can't tell till I'm done hahahaha

    • @JackiePeacock
      @JackiePeacock  Місяць тому

      I need to find a palette that will work for the frame. In some of the videos I show paint and some not. All depends on my framing, but I know it would be helpful. There’s a beauty simple palette on Etsy that I think would work, it’s just so expensive! lol but maybe I need to just do it.
      I’m glad you got a good painting! I have a separate brush I use to wake the paints . It’s old and I don’t use it for anything else. But I’ve found that with dry paint you really need to work it in there.

    I just love your style of painting. Seeing fir trees in the mountains is so relaxing. I am currently taking a watercolour class and your videos brings some added tips. I need to try your technique of lifting paint to create a path or mist in the forest. This looks so cool.

    • @JackiePeacock
      @JackiePeacock  10 місяців тому

      Thank you so much, I appreciate that. I agree, nothing better than trees in the mountains. Good luck in your class! And yes, absolutely try lifting paint! It's a fun little sneaky way in creating a path or road or whatever else you can think of.

    Another fantastic tutorial! I really love how you use the filbert grainer brush so I bought the one you recommended and have been trying to use it daily. Could you perhaps elaborate on what types of strokes you use with this brush? I’ve been trying to paint simple mountains with it and no matter what I do I cannot replicate the delicate misty look you achieved. I just end up overworking the painting. Any tips or tricks you can share would be truly and greatly appreciated! Can’t wait for your next vid!

    • @JackiePeacock
      @JackiePeacock  5 місяців тому

      Thank you so much for the feedback! Those are really great questions that I would have a hard time describing in a message, so I’ll have to think about a future video in describing how I achieve this technique using this brush. I haven’t posted a video in quite a while because honestly, I’ve needed a break, but this is a great suggestion for a video. Thank you 😊

    I loved this tutorial- your work is so beautiful and I hope one day to be half as good as you are! I find when doing these misty landscapes that my trees end up being disproportionately tall compared to how yours look- is 1/3 the height of the tree appropriate to incorporate in the mist? Mine are like 80% out of the fog and I feel like they look weird :). Thank you!

    • @JackiePeacock
      @JackiePeacock  6 місяців тому

      Thank you so much! You know, when I first started painting misty scenes I had the same problem. If you paint the tree too long, than while it's still wet, I'd just blend it out at the bottom and lift some color with a damp brush. You can even use a slightly damp paper towel and create even cooler mist effects in the middle of the trees. But if you're trees are just too tall and you don't want mist at the bottom, than I'd try for future paintings, paint one short tree at a time and layering them. And don't be too worried about painting over trees you've already put down. If they are still wet, they'll blend nicely together. Hopefully that helps.

    I don't have that orange what color substations could suggest?
    I would like to try my own style at this for a fundraiser for a friend who has stage 4 triple negative breast cancer. paying out of pocket for alternative treatments now...she has 5 littles😢
    also if I did this on a larger scale 12x14 what size brush would you recommend.. thanks so much❤

    • @JackiePeacock
      @JackiePeacock  8 місяців тому

      Permanent yellow deep is a nice color, but any orange will do and you can always darken it with brown or black, and maybe even a hint of blue.
      I'm sorry to hear about your friend. Cancer is rough, and these days it feels like we all have been touched by the terrible disease, whether that's experiencing it ourselves or knowing someone who has. My heart goes out to you and your friend.
      And as far as brushes, I'd recommend a large flat brush, like the Neptune ones for the large overall washes, or I love the Aqua Elite round in a size 12. And for trees if you paint those, then I personally love using a size 2, 4, and 6 depending on the size of trees. But it's always personal preference. :)

    Do you stretch your paper? How does it lay so flat if you don't?

    • @JackiePeacock
      @JackiePeacock  7 місяців тому

      That’s a great question. I do not stretch my paper.
      There are two things I tend to do; I either wet the front and the back side of the paper before using the wet onto wet technique, and/or I mist my paper. I find that the more I mist between layers, the flatter it stays. However, it still curls, but I’m so used to it that it’s not a problem.

  • @SuzanneRanger
    @SuzanneRanger 4 місяці тому

    When doing your trees, is it done with pure paint?

    • @JackiePeacock
      @JackiePeacock  4 місяці тому

      So it depends on how light or dark I want my trees. I really like to use somewhere between a cream consistency and a butter consistency, which is a bit more of that dry brush. But when it comes to the misty areas, I use more tea like consistency where it’s a bit more water and less paint so I can really get those lighter areas. But I very rarely use wet paint from the tube and I always usually will reactivate my dry paint.
