This works as either hank or Scott. Theyre both the same height, weight, skin tone, eye color, and wear the same classic costume. Only difference between the 2 is their hair color, which doesnt matter with this figure because you cant even see the head.
My man, my dude, I so appreciate you doing the size and previous versions comparisons. That's always a huge must and + for a toy reviewer. Great video!
I fall into the "needed a decent Ant-Man for the collection" category, but price aside I'm actually pretty happy with the figure. Looks good with the rest of my classic Avengers.
Got mine on Memorial Day and when I got home and opened it, it was a Ghost Buster’s figure. I went back and got my refund and went a grabbed another one. I told the guy at the electronics register to wait, so I could open it and make sure it was the right figure. Luckily it was, because it was the last one left. 😂😂😂
@@JohnnyBlaze_616aye this happened to me twice now before 😂. But I got my money back both times. What's crazy is that it was at two different stores! The first one was the Walgreens exclusive Sentry figure. Man, I must've opened it and it was one of those basic 6" Mighty Morphin Power Rangers figures. It was the Black Ranger lol. And the second time was at Books A Million. I bought the Extremis Ironman or so I thought this time. Man, I opened it up and it was the MCU Ironman! It was the Endgame armor but it wasn't the actual classic one that came out years ago, no. It was the ones that just came out here not that long ago. The one that came out with the Iron Spider. The one that's clogging up the shelves! Or at least at my local Walmart anyway. Man I was so mad, but Walgreens had another Sentry but B.A.M. was out of that Ironman. But I ended up finding him for $15 at this shop close to me called Vintage Toy Mall where they are packed with just about any and every action figure you can name! Lol but ever since then I always open my boxes in the store just to be sure.
I actually like this figure. It has some issues -- mainly the lack of accessories/head and the price. $25 may not sound astronomical, but it adds up. There's nothing "special" about this figure to justify the price although if someone needs an Ant-Man figure for their collection this wouldn't be a terrible one to fill that spot. This could have been a lot worse, but also could have been a lot better.
I feel the same way. I needed an Ant-Man for my Avengers so I was ok with buying it. But he badly needs more accessories. The reused body doesn't bother me because it's the same color on both sides of the arms and legs, so pins don't bother me here. And that head sculpt is Pretty awesome. Overall I think is a good figure, but yes, it could've been so much better.
I would really like to see some amalgam comics figures made. Amalgam comics was awesome and there were some crazy good designs. Too bad marvel and dc and the toy companies will probably never work something out
Unless you're wearing the most powerful nostalgia goggles ever made, this Ant-Man absolutely BLOWS the old Toybiz Ant-Man out of the water. As somebody who was collecting during the Toybiz days, I think it's almost embarrassing the way certain members of our community still blindly praise Toybiz while ignoring the awful proportions, ball shoulder and hip joints, and sloppy paint jobs. But hey, some people will do anything to bash Hasbro lol (which I find funny since there are already a lot of legitimate and valid reasons to bash Hasbro to begin with, meaning there's no need to lie and find ways do so in bad faith)
@@richmarrero1313 It’s a decent little feature, but you must be joking if you think THAT alone is enough make that awful figure better. The helmet deigns isn’t even as accurate as this new helmet! @@juansanchez209 for the 25 dollar price point Hasbro started to gouge us with this figure is pretty weak imo, and even the OG antman had more points of articulation then this figure.
I'm glad we have an updated of sorts Antman. I definitely want him but I'm just going to wait until he hits my local Targets. I agree with you, Shartimus, I'd rather have a removeable helmet.
This is far and away the best comic book Ant Man figure we've ever gotten. I much prefer the classic design, and this one delivers. The garbage "vintage" version we got a few years ago was really lazy, too skinny, and had a completely inaccurate helmet (bent antennae?). I agree that an alternate head would have added value, but overall I'm VERY happy with this release.
I like this figure but when I took mine out the box the helmet was glued on sideways lol gotta love that hasbro quality control, had to return it for another
Didn't have an Ant-Man and while I'm happy for a new addition to my collection there some things I wish Hasbro would've done differently. Namely an unhelmeted head and a small Scott Lang figure.
The figure is very good and I want it, but for 27.99 with only a 2nd pair of interchangeable hands, it's a hard pill to swallow. Had he came with a mini antman, the splayed out wall crawling hands from spidey so he can get into some good dynamic poses, an unhelmeted head, and an additional helmet that he can work on, along with some tool gripping hands, then the price would be more justifiable, like the upcoming super poseable black widow and the excellent tracksuit mafia figure.
Hasbro's a business, that needs to be in the black. How much in the black is relative of course. That said, a figure like this requires a sales projection: a GREAT upgrade that is relatively more inexpensive for them to produce, and even if it were cheaper in cost, would that many more people pick it up? I'm not in the business to evaluate such thing. I do like the West Coast Hank Pym being out there as well: I'm glad Hasbro more recently appears to be emphasizing the vintage brainiacs of Marvel.
If you change his head whit the giant-man figure it would be a cool classic giant-man figure. (And im still waiting for the haslab classic giant-man Hasbro)
I like it but I would like to have more accessories. At least another head and some hands. But I will buy it, because I don´t have a Ant-Man and at least it looks good.
I'm so conflicted with this figure, on one hand I would like an Ant-Man for the display since I have Wasp but on the other I don't agree with the price, exclusivity, the body choice, the lack of accessories, I'm not the biggest Ant-Man fan period and aftermarket prices are ridiculous, this guy is nowhere near 40$, I got a Joytoys Warhammer Space Marine for 40 and it dumps all over Marvel Legends. This is definitely one I'm gonna wait for but this guy could have easily been in a wave or something.
I think this is technically a good figure but at this price point and what we get is insulting. That same thing can be said about every Marvel Legend released in the past year or two. IMO Ant Man should have been on the Reed body and came with alternate lab coat and arms, along with a normal head.
I have to say that this ant man is pretty useless I already have the vintage collection on in the box and one on display this is another cash grab for target and Hasbro as a lazy redo on the Ant-Man but on the other hand people now have a change to get a Ant-Man for there avengers display
Dude this figure is WAY better than the Vintage wave Ant-Man. It has a much better body mold, the helmet design is far more accurate to the Silver Age comics, and the helmet has a really great silver paint job whereas the helmet that came on the Vintage wave Ant-Ma was just silver plastic and had a bunch of marbling

Nice. Get us those StreetHumans, baby! I'm routin' for ya
So I have the retro carded AntMan but should I replace the figure. Or should I just keep collecting?
Genuine question. What makes this one the Scott lang ant man and not the Hank pym?
They should have added an alt. unmasked head then it's a good deal.
i never owned a ant-man figure so i will pick it up. wish it came with more stuff but it looks nice as it is, i think
You said it all bro, I do love the helmet sculpt, excellent review, hope Sharlita is feelin better!
Hasbro making us pay more for less. No extra accessories, no alternate head sculpt, nothing new but the head...
The knees on mine are the gummiest out of any of my Marvel legends, and I see that yours are warping too. Head sculpt makes the figure.

Still can't believe I haven't seen a head swap with the vintage collection one yet. Thought that would definitely be in this video

Hey shartimus why haven’t you reviewed the retro falcon?
Question, does the head come off the body on this? I need that helmet for the new PYM figure Hasbro just released.
It's a better version than the last ML Antman I have but not enough for me to spend $25 on it.
It’s my favorite Ant man marvel legends
Where did your mini antman come from?
Solid figure. I’d recommend
Shart is the best.
Good review. Good figure but not thirty bucks worth of good. And I really hate store exclusives.

Or ant accessories or 2 scaled down figures for a shrinking effect.
This is an easy pass for me because i always loved the toybiz antman figure and it has a removable helmet and stuff
Hasbro just needs to get rid of the old pinned bodies. Every new figure using an old body has been a soft, floppy, loose, gummy, warped mess
