Yeah, when I think of Scott Lang, I think of the more modern helmet with the red lenses. This looks like Hank Pym to me, so I'm fine using him as one. Might be fun to add the lab coat parts as well. It'd at least help with that really off-putting shoulder gap.
I’m glad you pointed out the issue with the shoulders on the Sunfire body. Aesthetically it does look weird and I guarantee in 10 years when they come out with even better body molds it will look like how old ToyBiz figures look to us now.
Nice review! I thought the helmet on the old ToyBiz version would at least still hold up but wow, huge upgrade there. Loving the new, more realistic face prints on the comic book figures. Makes me feel like we just need to upgrade everything all over again! And yes, I don't know how many times I've preordered from Target, only to see them in stores FIRST, and in abundance. Some even wind up being pegwarmers.
Great review Robo! I shot you some pics on IG but wanted to comment here as well: if you have a spare Corsair figure lying around, his shoulders swapped onto this Ant-Man body really help with the overall proportions.
When did people started saying those are duck feet? Duck feet were the ones with the Pizza SpiderMan and all figures that used that body - most recently Mr. Fantastic. The Sunfire body feet are cool... As for the figure pretty sure we won't get it on New Zealand so I just got me the ToyBiz one for much cheaper and I liked it a lot. 😊
I mean there's really much of a visual difference anyway, Scott was just wearing Hank's costume before he got his own unique costume later on in the 90s(?).
This is my most anticipated ML so far. None in my area yet and obviously preorder hasn’t shipped. I hope I can find one in store. Keep the preorder as a backup
I'm trying to build a (Somewhat) classic Avengers team so i definitely need this guy. He's a little too expensive for my tastes considering how little accessories he has, but if I ever see him in store I'll likely grab him. This is definitely going to be a Hank Pym Ant-Man in my display, Scott Lang needs to have the more modern costume in my opinion. Great video 👍
For Wasp, I recommend buying the Diamond Select diorama statue that came out last year. It’s not in scale with Marvel legends, but because of her ability to change size (including giant size) I think it works quite well in any classic Avengers collection.
He does look good. I appreciate you mentioning he is Lang, but he absolutely would be my Pym. Between this and the recent jump suit Pym in the WCA boxset I really wonder what the Avengers Haslab will be now? Also props on your ever-improving editing and visual effects in your vids, Uncle Robo!
Never realized this was supposed to be Scott Lang. It looks like a Hank Pym because of the suit but also I did see some cover with Scott wearing this suit and I believe I even saw some with red lenses with this suit. Not gonna lie if they gave us a second head with that option then I feel it'd been more easy for people to decide whether to display this Antman as Hank Pym or Scott Lang
When first Scott Lang first became Ant-Man in 1979, he wore the same costume as Hank. In fact, he stole it, and that was the costume he had until he got his own unique one in the 90s.
Is there a tutorial anywhere on how to get the Mr Fantastic arms onto the retro card antman body?? I’m really wanting to make a custom that combines that and the new astonishing head sculpt. Any tips or recommendations are seriously appreciated! I’m new to collecting and customizing especially so any help would be great 😅
Love the review! And the figure is great! Except... He... Is *Ant*man... So the fact that he didn't come with a small version like the retro Wasp is a big mistake on Hasbro's part if you ask me. Plus, although its Scott, an unmasked Hank head would have been sooooo sweet (but again, if the HasLab rumors are true, that would potentially explain why)
We are SO close to getting the classic Avengers together! Just need classic Wasp, who MUST be one of the tiers for the Giant Man Haslab--which would kinda be a lame move on Hasbro, but an understandable one.
I have a Walgreens exclusive of this guy around here somewhere. But that was an old Bucky body, and a year old pegwarmer. By the way did anyone ever see the MCU Ant-Man Quatamania figures in a store? Never saw a one in any store near me.
In his first appearance as Ant-Man (Marvel Premiere #47) Scott Lang literally stole Hank Pym's suit from his house so it's exactly the same costume. Hank had a heap of different identities but aside from some minor things like the gas canisters vs. pills vs. Cybernetic shrinking (don't ask) the original Ant-Man costume itself never changed, so this can easily be Hank. Wasp had about 30 different costumes just in the Silver/Bronze Age, and still we don't have a single one of them. At a minimum we need a "first appearance" costume with the pointy hat, one of the regular costumes from the 60s (eg the generic red/blue or red/gold ones but really take your pick) and maybe that really nice yellow one with the W-collar that debuted in Shooter's original Korvac saga in the late 70s. I think George Perez designed it.
Gah! It's not a big deal but I so wish we saw a size comparison with Ultron and Vision, get a real family portrait thing going. I am very curious when this will release in the UK, plenty of Target exclusives get general releases here but there'll be no pre-orders, they'll just randomly show up in stores. Still, this is a must have for me. I'm not super big into the Avengers comics but I do pick up what I consider to be the major iconic members, and this absolutely falls into that category. It's really the only must-have for me this year so far, Hawkeye is up there too but the higher price due to the sky cycle, and simply finding space for that is holding me back for now. I tend to get burn out from the constant reused plain bodies in this line, its partly why I haven't picked up any Marvel Legends yet this year, but really this totally works for Ant-Man in my eyes since his design is so simple. I like that body for the characters who are less physically imposing, heck getting that Bullseye in 2017 was what really got me into Marvel legends, so that body despite the tiny shoulders has always had a special place for me. I also really dig that he has relaxed hands, shame we don't see that more often with other characters.
I went to my local Target and got my figure today. I showed a picture of the scan code from a image I found on line. She scanned it and advised of eight in stock. She sold me one and said they are not put out yet for now.
Hoping to find ole Pym/Lang even though I am preordered. Found Club Obi Wan Indy…so there’s a chance. Really want Tracksuits. Too bad no Ant-Man riding an ant accessory. That’s one of those Toybiz pieces I held onto…whom am I kidding. I have all those Toybiz Legend pieces and figures still.
I’m gonna get him for my Avengers line up I got the ripped lab coat from the Hulk vs Wolverine 2 Pack to simulate him shrinking back from his Giant form
I literally just took my figure out as this video went up. And I took the figure out and the left leg is bent inward and he looks like he’s a zombie if I stand him up. Is there a way to fix that ?
Just hit it with a little heat, like a hair dryer. It'll get soft and straighten out. I was going to do that on the arms on mine since they kinda bow to the inside but I'm okay with that.
I love the toy biz Ant-Man Hank Pym. Has a removable helmet. I'm a little miffed as to why Hasbro can't do removable helmets? It can't be a cost thing. It has to be a sculpting issue when they manufacture them.
I don't care too much for removable helmets, you either have to make the heads small or the helmets large to compensate for hair or plastic thickness. Much rather have swappable heads.
As an official member of the Avengers, I do like the helmet way more than the vintage collection Ant Man figure from 2018, It's sad he is not in stock in Target 🎯, I hope he does because I do need him, Overall, Awesome review Robo on Ant Man and great shrinking editing too.
Hey Robo @The Fwoosh, I’m about to try getting into black series, but I don’t know who to buy first. I’m not a collector that buys everything, but Do you have any recommendations on any cool black series figs?
This figure highlights some odd choices by Hasbro. The head sculpts are getting way better. That new Gambit head sculpt is top notch. But, Target exclusives are hitting stores before we get pre-orders🤦🏾♂️. They have much better body types to select from, why do they continually mix and match with bad parts? The lack of accessories is crazy. I am not expecting a ton of accessories, but come on. Accessories that are relevant to the character should be included no matter what. An alternate head sculpt and a mini AntMan woulda made this better.
Maybe I get this figure, because I want an Ant Man in my Avengers display, but the lack of accessories and the small and low shoulders of this body mold don't make me very excited about it to be honest
I love this figure and I love this costume, but until Hasbro gets their shit together, I’m not buying shit from them because there’s no reason they guys cut the budget for packaging so we no longer have plastic in the packaging and upped the price of the figures for us to spend more and still get less with our figures. there’s no reason why we have an Ant-man with no tiny Ant-man accessory, no ant accessories, No extra head without the helmet and a spare helmet to come with it. Nothing but hands. For almost $30. The sooner we all stop playing into this game that Hasbro’s been playing with us since they started upping prices and giving us less the sooner they’ll start giving us more shit with our action figures.
Weird. This wasn’t up when I checked at 10am? After 11am, it’s “posted 1hr ago”? 🧐 IF this included a mini-Ant-Man, I might grab it. As is, pass. Already annoyed I chose wrong Target to visit the other day, when everybody reporting Tracksuit Mafia were out. Scanner says they’re at other store I regularly hit before work. Stop there next day, nothing. 🤦♂️
Why Brian Flynn aka "i don't know what happened in the factory" can't realize that he needs to hire someone in China who can talk English/Chinese to verify the production process of Ultimates lines? We paid almost 50% more than a Marvel Legends with stunning face sculpting and painting like this one. Hoping someone can sue Super7 for false advertising!
as time has gone on i’ve just grown to dislike this body mold so much so that i wish they’d stop using it completely. the proportions are all wrong and ridiculous looking. the character design and head sculpt really save it here.

What a great head/face sculpt . That alone is worth the money.
Oh wow this editing was smooth.
Saw the notification and thought "Yes! Nightwing review finally!" Turned out to be Ant Man, it's a Robo review so I watched anyway.
I loved the photography in this video, like the picture with Ant Man running from being stepped on was fantastic.
Killer T-Shirt Robo!!! I love Star Wars and The Leps too!!!
We need galactis opening even though it’s an older figure by now😂😂❤

Definitley using this as my Pym. if i want a Lang, i'll probably pick the TRUS 2-Pack one.
Dang those eye look incredible, the face in general looks great but the eyes are done so amazingly.
What is that giant ant you have him riding on in the picture at the end?
It's the Bandai S.H.Figuarts ant that came with one of the MCU Ant-Mans. I think it was added for the US release?
I have a Walgreens exclusive of this guy around here somewhere. But that was an old Bucky body, and a year old pegwarmer.

Directly from the 1979 Astonishing AntMan #1. Def getting this!
I don’t collect legends anymore, heck, never collected the comic versions but still watching this cause a Robo review is just good entertainment
Did they ever made a Yellow Jacket figure? While I like the Antman and Wasp, they need to make a classic Yellow Jacket figure
They did, back in the early days of Hasbro ML, before the 2012 re-launch.
Gah! It's not a big deal but I so wish we saw a size comparison with Ultron and Vision, get a real family portrait thing going.

He looked really good riding the ant.
I’m gonna get him for my Avengers line up
I got the ripped lab coat from the Hulk vs Wolverine 2 Pack to simulate him shrinking back from his Giant form
Always a great day when Robo uploads
Nice review
I will get two of this antman figure. One for hank pym the other for Scott Lang.
Where did you get the giant ant?
I literally just took my figure out as this video went up. And I took the figure out and the left leg is bent inward and he looks like he’s a zombie if I stand him up. Is there a way to fix that ?

That was included in the Bluefin release of the SH Figuarts Ant-Man.
Robo, where did you get that flying ant you placed Ant-Man on? It’s awesome
Awesome looking classic Ant-Man figure 👍👍👍👍
If a figure is going to be exclusive it should definitely come with more accessories to make it you know, exclusive
What’s up, regular sized man???
How difficult is it to do the arm swap?
Just some heat to soften everything up, and then I think I had to trim the pegs slightly.

Lop off those antenna and the speaker thing and it would make a pretty good Avalanche head.
i only don't like pins if they're large and the pin hole is deep. and i guess if they're not the right color pins
Yeah, like with Spidey characters with half and half costume designs.
John Cena comes to my mind when I look to helmet head.
Good video man, ima get him def😁
Wheres the ant from? Shf?
Yeah, S.H.Figuarts with the MCU Ant-Man.
Just Fwooshing it up
Makin' me jealous Robo 🤣 We in the UK aren't getting him for another month or 2.

Found him at my Target.
Does this head work on the Japanese Spider-Man body? That body looks like it could be good for a classic Tales to Astonish Ant-Man.
you should make a review of the new white wolf
I’ve been checking my target looking for him. Still no luck
