Thanks for this great video machn😍😍
Thanks
Please add all the items you used to remove the scratches.
Great work with good information on how to remove scratches from glass.
I am also doing this what's the buffing pad (inch) that we should use.. 3 4 or 5 inch.🙏
Thanks
i used a 4inch pad. You can use any size.
@@AmateursDIY thank you 😊
What's the polishing pad that you've used
How long did it take to do the front windshield? So i mean did it take you an hour of polishing everything?
Will it remove the spiderweb like scratches frm the windscreen?
Good one..
Thanks
I used cerium oxide with polosher machine. The hazy glass gone. However 1 month later the hazy surface came back again. I have no idea why it keeps coming back?i
Nice Information 👍
Keep Sharing your Knowledge 👍

How can I contact you, I have same problem in my car
The uses buffing pads with a normal hammer drill from bosh work ?
My one is also a hammer drill. I used lowest speed. Carefull when choosing buffing pads. Some may scratch the glass.
Can i use drill machine to attach the pad? Or do i need a special buffering machine only?
I'm using drill machine with slowest seed setting. Better if you can have a polishing machine or you can rent one.
Can I use just hand rather the tool to clean the scratches? I haven’t used that tool before and I’m worried to break the windshield.
You can. But it will take very long time to get even results due to slow polishing speed. There are polishers for this if you can rent one.
@@AmateursDIY Thanks for the reply.
Hi there. Can cerium oxide remove the windshield scratches from the sand that went through the wiping cloth?
It can't remove deep scratches which can feel to our fingernails.
Thank you for the video. Can you list out materials used
Cerium oxide
Clay bar
Glass cleaner
Felt polishing pads
Drill attachment
Microfiber cloth
सीरियम आक्साइड किस दुकान में मिलेगा,
कहा पर होती है plz बताए
Hi, Thanks for the video. From where did you buy CERIUM OXIDE?
from Glore Chem in Bankshall street and aliexpress
@@AmateursDIY Thanks!
Got mine from a local glass store. Like glass art stores.
You can also use other liquids from wavex that also helps
Hi , i can see from your video that after polishing there is blurryness in the windshield like hand marks , is it due to improper cleaning after the process or is it that polishing leaves such results ?
try yo clean it with izopropilic alchool. if the marks doesnt desapear, you used too much heat in the process and the plastic lamination between the glass layers has been deteriorated. The effect is ireversible. you need to control the temperature of the glas. Maximum 50 degrees celsius. After 3 passes, always check the temperature with hand.
It just oil from my hands, Small amount of glaas cleaner will just do the job. Its been more than 3 years now. Still looks good.
What kind of buffing pad did you use?
Its on the video. Bought from aliexpress.
excellent Video. But before and after Video should have been better. Let me know if its worth to do it . I am planning to do the same so. Have wiper scratches on my Car windshield.
Let me also know if you were able clean them
@@developerrazi I was waiting for your reply.
@@developerrazi I will try this week if you say it's worth doing it. I don't have buffing machine. Need to do it by hand.
It is actually better than what we see on camera. but buffing with hand is not an easy work.
@@AmateursDIY Thanks for your reply. Will try to get it buffed outside using a machine. Will update you once it's done.
Will doing without a machine (with hand) provide good results?
I didn't try that way. But even using a drill machine it is a hard work without proper polishing machine.
@@AmateursDIY it's scary to not use professional instruments I did once buffing my enfield engine with drill I appied pressure and the nut bolt pierced the pad and came out and ruined layer of engine so I will not use drill for this procedure....have to buy rpm setting wala grinder like buffer
I thought I had to use the pad on an angle. I see you use it flat. Does it matter?
With small angle. Not completely flat.
I have some swril marks on windshield, does polish can remove them completely?
If those can't be sensed with your fingernails, definitely can be removed.
How long it will last and how is the condition now.... would you recommend it
Its been 3 years now. Still perfect.
If I installed film in glass is it work from.
What kind of film?
I got some swirling on the glass after doing this. My windshield is less than a year old but had sand from a snow event make some marks when wipers ran. Tried to fix with this but left some swirling on the glass. Also a small quarter sized glaze / scratched area didn't buff out. Maybe need practice? Really messy...
Yeah…I would look to Lake Country manufacturing to get some CeriGlass and polishing pads. You might have fucked your windshield if you actually did what this guy did in the video.
@@Ichabod_Jericho I used an orbital with a softer pad. That did the job polishing the windows. The wool pad on the drillnis more aggressive and generates some swirling. I still have some swirls in a corner, but now they're at least polished out. Much less noticeable now. Then finish off with chemical guys ceramic glass coating.
@@20tea I used cerium oxide with polosher machine. The hazy glaa gone. However 1 month later the haziness came back again. I have no idea why ot keeps coming back?!
Have you cleaned viper blade? Or replaced viper blades
@@AmateursDIY I've replaced the wiper blades, so it's not the issue.
So I found what worked for me. I added an auto body buffing gel to the powder along with a little water and mixed it very well into a paste. I then used an orbital with a foam pad to apply the paste to. The orbital really did a good job polishing the windshield.
Only issue now is that a large rock hit the window recently and put a crack in the windshield, so I need to replace it soon.
From where can I purchase good quality cerium oxide
I bought from a chemical shop
What happens cerium oxide touches the paint
Nothing happens. It is like Very small particles.
how to buy for this glass kit ?
I got from aliexpress
Polishing glass will bring power effect to glass and make it difficult to drive in night.Better change the glass with new
i never got that problem after polishing my windshield, plus its not worth to changing the glass just because there is some scratch and waterspot.
What do you mean by 'power effect'?
@@AmateursDIY After polish your windshield will become like your power glass
Now its been 2 years after polishing. Still looks much better than before polishing. Also nothing wrong with windows glasses if you are reffering to them.
@@AmateursDIY Bro does cerium oxide really remove small scratches From windshield
Which tool are used in machine for rubbing
Sponge or woollen
Pls reply
Not sponge. Looks like a rayon polishing pad. Some call it automotive polishing pad. Be careful wrong material may scratch the glass
@@AmateursDIY
Which company used
I just bought from aliexpress
@@AmateursDIY which company
It was brandless
What is the cost
3000lkr for 1kg in sri lanka
For how long cerium oxide to be left on windscreen?
No need to keep for some time. Just polish with it.
@@AmateursDIY i tried,but unfortunately nothing worked
First of all i used sandpaper grit nmbr 150,then 240,then 1000,after that, i used cerium oxide upon it,but either for short time,or for 1 hour,no change occured, the scratch itself gone, but the haziness doesn't vanished and it is still on the glass
OMG!!! You applied sand paper on windscreen!!! And 150 grit. You must have scratched the glass by using a sandpaper.
@@AmateursDIY which grit number sandpaper I've to use?
Don't use sandpapers. Only light scratches can be remove using cerium oxide. Otherwise you have to replace the glass i think.
My arms feels like dying after 3 hours of polishing, but it's worth it. Less glare during night time especially from bright led headlights.
Yeah. Same here😅 It hurts. But definitely worth it. Specially during night driving at rainy days.
Microfayba clot.
My friend said that in future the glass will get dark
Yeah. I'm warried about it. Now it is been over a year. nothings changed. But it could take several years. But i think if that happens only the polished surface will be dark. So i have to polish again using cerium oxide or a professional product or i might have to replace it😬😅
@@AmateursDIY ok
Guys this way 100% not working if have a scratches
