Raphae Halim had a detailed chat with Mr. Anand Vedula, our Green Warrior. He is running a court case past few years, against his Housing Society to get permission to officially charge his Electric Vehicles in his apartment garage.
In this Part 2 we find out what hurdles he faced with the society officials, with utility companies and how supportive they were, with the legal paperwork, stress involved and court orders.
He has been very committed to get this in his favour without adopting any unfair means. This is a great effort on his part for the entire EV industry. He is now being backed by big names in the industry who feel he is on the right track.

There should be harsh punishment to all the society president and ex-president and the members who did all these nonsense and not allowing Anand Sir to charge. Its really a huge mental pressure.
This guy is Hero of its kind. He is Single handededly Fighting Legal case against its erroent Society. I had faced exact same issue and fought similar way with my society in Thane Maharashtra, He was very much helpful by sharing all his experience and all relevant government circulars. I wish he get this done legally this will be great help for other potential EV owners.

Patience yes... Time is not an option.... It's just sacrifices and choices....
Now you should not only sue them for permission but also demand compensation for the harassment. this is a bloody ego issue with the association.
If you need to change the system, get into the system.. I had the same fear in my apartment and so I made sure to be part of the association before I take my NexonEV.. I drove my NEV from Mumbai to Hyd after becoming part of association. 😜
You have shown, great patience and courage in following the right path. As an EV pioneer, hope you succeed in your fight and show the way for others. Kudos to BESCOM and BBMP officials for their strong support. Shame on the association office bearers for being so unreasonable, hope the court penalizes them personally or at least chastises them for causing this.

I am presently staying in Bangalore recently fixed 16 amps socket (luckily society was supportive ) in my car parking place for Epluto scooter charging. Could you please tell me the steps to get subsidy for Ev owner for their own meter.

Who is paying for the lawyers association got to fight the case?
We need to find Criminal grounds to book the RWAs for harassing EV owners. OFCOURSE ALL EV OWNERS NEED SEPERATE CHARGING POINT AT HOME! Association should have absolutely no jurisdiction to stop the owners to install additional meters and get proper connections for their EVs. This is also a case of Harassment and Criminal Intimidation especially if they act like goons and cut cables and smash Private Property
He should have filed a Criminal and Civil Suit instead of just Civil Suit to bring arrogant RWAs on their knees. I will NEVER bow down to these RWAs and will always ensure they pay for such behaviour
Since past couple of months, our apartment maintenance team and possibly association is harassing us of charging Electric 2 wheeler and asking us to pay a hefty amount to have wiring done and also not providing access to Internet which is critical for safe functioning of the EVs as they need to be connected to servers for critical alerts and updates while syncing ride information

I also did not buy an EV for the same reason. The government must have a strong law which connects to some state law or enforce all states to implement the central law that says EV charging point is mandatory and there can be separate additional infrastructure added to existing buildings. Just having Worlds second largest lithium stock is not enough, we need to have ease of use for EVs first. Hat's off to Mr Anand.

Putting a 3 pin socket near your parking scares the housing association. The air they are breathing today is even more dangerous. Education levels are low & egos are really high here.

I live in a township of a maharatna PSU which itself promotes EV on a daily basis and in to EV business. But it did not make a provision for charging my EV

This is shameful act and Society committee looks outdated. They must be punished and not by monitory but punishing by serving to social organisation or in NGO who work to preserve environment

All the best Anand and everyone who is supporting him . What is the final judgement , I’m facing similar issue in my new society where they are not allowing to setup private chargers at basement stating it will create electrical hazard but when I countered them , they have no response against it
The similar issue we have been facing in our Gated community at Chennai. But, the vehicle was registered in my name, only.

Do we need to pay fixed charge if we get a seperate meater ?
Some states like Delhi & Maharashtra have dedicated EV rates, they are without any fixed charges and no slabs, just flat 4.5 rs per unit , like in Delhi + taxes. lands to about 6.8 per unit. if it was a regular meter with peak summer slab, it would go to 13.85 or MORE as fixed charges are per KW.
GOI should come up with some strict rules against these societies. Security is not their concern, it's a bribe they want. They are very very big obstacle between EV revolution in India.

If you do not own the LAnd , they can ask you to leave flat as well. Cause you do not own land

At home we have come to a conclusion that EVs are for independent home owners.

I would just buy a petrol car instead of dealing with the slow judiciary system of our country and when time comes they will themselves start putting meters in every parking
I don't blame the RWA. They have no idea about how the billing will work. State govts have to come up with regulations for housing societies to make things clearer fir everyone
This is a one sided view. You should also get the views of the Management Committee and understand their concerns and present it to the people. In today's world, BESCOM is penalizing even for putting iron vendor inside the society. CEIG also raises a lot of queries. None of these EV supporters will come to help when any such issues are faced.
Another question - If so many people are facing this problem then why have authorities not drafted any rules specifically for societies.
Generate clean electricity first, then talk about being "environmentally conscious". Buying an EV does not solve anything unless the power used is not generated using fossil fuel.
@PluginIndia Electric Vehicles am facing issues after 6 months of purchase and it is 1.6 yes battery of pureev dies anywhere anytime even after full charge due to voltage drop it has been sent to factory many times but issues are still on they are not replacing the battery even when it is warraty. Pls help me
