I’ve been saying it since the images were first released: People are not going to want to shell out that kind of money for a big trestle bridge and a small train. Sales are reflecting that.
This series was so much better than any of the past ones (only one I wish I had gotten was the great fishing boat)! I picked myself up 2X of the brick cross station, 2X mushroom houses, and 1X ominous island!
@@Daniel_B_23 they are very expensive, I only purchased a mushroom and ominous isle for myself, the others, while many may hate resellers are for my college investment. Ominous isle looks like a sweet one, have fun!
of course mushroom was the fastest to sold out, the designer is one of the biggest german legoguy and owner of a big german news lego page. Most comments on it too. Series 5 there will be a mushroom village, i expect this will get voted in and sold out easily too
I picked up the Brick Cross Station and Ominous Isle as soon as the drop went live. I’m not surprised (at all) about the two sets that sold out within hours. All the sets are great. I think the comparatively low sales of the Logging Railway proves that train fans want something that’s easy to integrate within the existing ecosystem. The trestle is gorgeous, but incorporating it into a layout is beyond what most of us mortals can accomplish. Brick Cross will fit right in with existing train systems and maybe even a Modular city. Train fans are over-due for a well built, adult themed station. No-brainer sell-out. The Mushroom house selling out doesn’t surprise me. It’s cute, unique, well done, and relatively affordable-a great fantasy world-type set. The ocean house: gorgeous, but expensive and kinda hard to integrate; I felt this was going to be the slowest seller…seriously gorgeous though. Ominous Isle. This should integrate well into Pirates, though I think it will be less playable than LEGO developed sets. The price is steep but not outrageous. Pirates is one of the themes I follow strongly. I’m a bit surprised it’s not selling better, though a non-sell-out doesn’t surprise me either.
I just went for the Ominous Isle, as it was the top one I wanted and with a limited budget... Not sure if the other three will sell out, honestly. But hey, at least they will all be produced!
i bet the brick cross train station will triple in value over its first year. Modular building collectors will have to get it to complete the collection.
I agree. I’m not a prospector, and kinda resent lego prospecting in general, but this set will go crazy in value. I will occasionally pick up a duplicate of something special to pass along to one of my kids. I couldn’t do it at $300 though.
I hope you're right. I ended up getting two *by accident* because I feared my first attempt at an order didn't go through (i.e. the emails didn't show up). I successfully ordered one set at a second attempt, only to receive confirmation emails for the *first order* around midnight BST on 6 June (i.e. several hours after Brick Cross Station had sold out). So, now it appears, according to my Lego account order page, that I have two stations, in which case, I'm likely to sell one of them. If you're right, it could end up a decent, albeit accidental, investment.
@@GregOrCreg If they’re different orders, you should be able to cancel one of them. I think the resale value will be high. Personally It’s not worth the hassle for me to become a flipper/reseller. YMMV.

Also not all fans are adults or necessarily have a lot of money to spend like these which is why it is good and also important for them to have more “budget friendly” sets for those who still want to own a part of the bricklink series. I think the budget option (under $100) four any and all series will always sell out.

Never really cared much for the train and I think we all knew it wasn’t going to sell well so pass on that. Ominous Isle, I’m still debating. I got two copies for FOMO but I might cancel that order, might just not be worth the hype. I buy everything separate so I cancel later as needed.
Yes, historically the less expensive sets are first to go. They usually are casual cute build, nothing special though, provide inexpensive way to get collectible limited item with small investment possibility. I was on the fence and didn't buy Mushroom House, cause Mushroom House set exist in the Minecraft series as well and looks like in the Mario too..
i think people are judging too harsh on the logging railway. having seen it IRL it really does add to the overal model. Just like the recent nasa artemis set, the stand does take up quite a bit of the pieces but it really does look good with it.
Yeah live streaming the next one is a good idea. This is only going to get more popular and I thought there wasn’t much content out there to help review options.
Plus the fact that you aren't charged until they Ship Out, which makes it a no brainer just snag some copies, and if you get closer to the delivery date you can cancel or you could just sell and make your money back, plus a little bit more.

I know this is your right to do this, but I think it is sad you brought two, not because you like them but because they are selling fast to make money. Especially when I see people who didn’t manage to get it but actually wanted and loved it, but just happened to be in the wrong time zone and didn’t think they would sell out so soon. I really hope most were bought by people who want them to build.

I picked up one as I love pirates 🏴☠️ and have barricuda bay, the brick built ship and some islanders, and my own custom mocs so it’s a great pickup for me
I was thinking of getting the mushroom house, but forgot about the day and missed out. Which I am totally ok with. Looks like a great set, but a little out of my range. I thought the pirate set would sell out just as fast, I am considering it, but really want it at 200$ since there are no new prints or anything special. I think for 240$ I would just get some sand pieces and make the island I want.
Same. Not a fan of the roof design and stickers are just a big turnoff these days. Love the Mushroom House. With such a limited run they could certainly invest in prints for these sets because there would be little to no waste as far as parts go.
@@EchoBaseplates They're not going to do unique prints for a small production run. No BDP set had or ever will have unique prints. Existing printed pieces, sure. To be honest, I have more of a problem with stickers in sets like Rivendell and UCS Star Wars sets. Especially on smaller pieces like 1x2 tiles. I already have the Studgate Train Station, so Brick Cross is a nice companion piece.
Bought 6 sets in series 1…but none for series 2….not interested in any set in series 2…probably wont buy anything from series 3 and 4 either.. but there are some nice sets in series 5.. hopefully those set can be picked up… I think the sells of designer program has slow down.. this has something to do with Lego increases copies from 10000 to 30000.. so i am losing my interest in buying over hold sets
I got the Mushroom House. It’s a super cute relatively cheap set. And let’s face it, it’s the closest we’re coming to a Smurf set. Brickcross was tempting as a modular, but just too much open space. The train was just too much for a pointless bridge to nowhere and early reviews sunk my desire for the other two. Overall, I spent too much on Series 1 and planning to spend too much on future series to buy more now.
Out of curiosity, what do you mean by 'too much open space' for the Brick Cross Station? I think it uses its space really well, except for the way the restaurant is placed. I plan to take away the downstairs restaurant and find a way of converting that space into a bathroom and a small ticket office.
@@GregOrCreg aside from the small kitchen and ticket booth, the main inside space is just a large open two story area with not much in it. Part of what I love about Modulars is the different rooms and decorations. Externally it’s a beautiful set, I just feel the inside space is lacking.
@@janet3761 I personally like the open space because it emulates an actual train station. Some modulars can feel a little cramped and 'busy' IMHO. I also prefer modulars that do *one* thing, like the Museum, rather than try to accommodate various buildings and functions. I want to see the best Museum or the best Train Station possible rather than a number of smaller and compromised buildings squashed together.
I want the train...I just dont want that bridge thing that ive been told is not strong enough to be a bridge, so why have it. What is it with this insane train thing where they insist on putting it on a base or a bridge? WHY? The base is less than useless that wasted hundreds of pieces in the Orient Express, now this useless bridge thing that you cant use as a bridge. You want your train to sit on something? Well here be a crazy idea...CHUCK A LOT OF STANDARD TRACK IN THE BOX WITH IT, something we can use. Its Pronounced LOG ING....Not LODGE ING....getting logs so its called logging.
Funny how the non sold out sets are doing so poorly. I mean, where are all these people who voted for them? I feel like if you vote for a set to become a finalist, you should purchase it, or you're just shutting out another set that could sell better. As far as the train station, I get that people want to add it to their modular town, but the architectural style is odd, like kind of Parisian looking, so it's not likely to fit well. Most of the other modulars seem to have an American small town vibe. Lego will make a modular train station eventually, so I will wait for that one.
I didnt vote for any pirate sets, but as a somewhat passive pirate theme fan It just seems too expensive for no new elements. I feel like I might as well just buy sandy bricks and make the island I really want which is more sprawling and flat than tall. with more beach and a place to put buried treasure.
My city is a mismatch of various styles, like Babe 2: Pig in the City which has the Eiffel Tower and the Sydney Opera House within the same location, so I don't mind all the various clashing styles. I think it makes sense to have a French Quarter and a Chinese Quarter (with the Family Reunion Restaurant) etc.

Bought the Train Station soon as it got released. I also considered the Mushroom House and the Pirate Island but decided to keep my coin for series 3.
