One of the funniest ongoing side gags, was how many times George tried to do an airline ticket related scam and it blows up in his face.
You think he'd learn his lesson
This is the only one that I know of. What other times did he do that?

Sad thing is none of this was George's fault, the only bad thing would've been the time magazine. The whole thing blew up specifically cause of Kramer

This was back in the day when picking somebody up from the airport was truly an art. This was in the days before cellphones and cellphone lots. It's now a lost art.

That bit of kramer chasing the guy who owed him rent from 15 years ago made this one of the top 10 episodes. So much went on in this episode

the earlier seasons of Seinfeld was something else. The jokes and plot was less elaborate, more situational. Show had a slower pace. It had a different feeling too. The difference between early 90s vs late 90s: less bright, more beige. I really love that first 5 seasons.
Some people think is difference is due to Larry David's involvement (or lack thereof), but that's not really the case. Seasons 6 and 7 had LD. The show was already changing styles
I am also not saying one was better or worse. I just feel better when I watch earlier episodes of Seinfeld.

Can someone explain the plane ticket scam? I never understood what they had to gain by flying somewhere when they had to pick Jerry up, or how they’d get their money back
OK, Kramer is going to get a ticket and get on the plane to get his rent money, then get off the plane and refund the ticket. George says "Use my credit card, I'll get the airline miles." Then he comes up with the idea of TWO tickets for twice the miles. Kramer goes and buys non-refundable tickets. They both got on the plane because George wanted to use the bathroom and he had already bought the ticket. Neither of them planned on going anywhere.

One thing that always bothered me about this episode - if they refunded the tickets wouldn’t you lose the points? Would they still give you the points for a refunded purchase?
I always thgt that if you purchase tickets w/a cc and refund the tickets your airline miles were refunded too. I saw this episode, but I don't remember why Kramer needed to buy plane tickets.
