I saw Steve Hytner on a Zoom session during the pandemic. He said when he read for Bania the script character description said "the most annoying person on earth" and Steve said yea, I can do that. Ha!
Steve Hytner is a great guy. I had the pleasure of hanging out with him and opening for him. He even invited me to stay in his houses. Of course his character is a dweeb, but the man himself, Steve is awesome
They were pretty good in not overusing the side characters. Newman is great because he only shows up only so many times. iI he was always around, it would lose it's specialness when he did show up.
Besides seinfeld beeing the best comedy ever... They also really always had the best extra's ever. Bania, Whatley, Puddy, J Peterman, Jackie Chiles, Susan's parents etc etc etc. They were all So good and So funny. Round of applause for them also
I was just going to say bania was one of the best extras ever. But then you had to mention the others 😆 all so funny I guess why that’s why we watch this show decades after it’s off air 😆
what's crazy is all those amazing side characters, and of course the other 3 costars, were all much better characters and funnier than Jerry Seinfeld himself
Years ago I had all the episodes recorded onto VHS TAPES....so I could watch them every night after work....with NO commercials. Best show ever. Up there with the Andy Griffith Show, with the great character Barney Fife.
Never saw Elaine's BIG SALAD @5:50 when I watched this show in the 90's lol. It's huge, tomatoes like volleyballs. Little details to pick up on in these clips makes it even funnier.
I think Bania likes to hang out with Jerry because he looks up to him for his comedy work. It's probably why Bania has no negative feelings when he hangs out with Jerry.
I tell you to be able to think of weird topics and finding weirder characters is genius. Hahaha. Laughing my head off just like the 1st time I watched it.
Fred Stoller wrote this episode, based on a real life experience with fellow comedian Bruce Smirnoff. Bruce, who was infamously cheap, gave stoller a new suit and he just had to treat him to lunch. Bruce stringed fred for multiple free lunches till Fred had enough. Fred found out later the suit was not worth 1,000 dollars, instead Bruce bought it for 150 at a closeout warehouse.
Jerry always listened to his friends, who mostly got him in trouble. But also, there's a good possibility Jerry kept close touch with them primarily for the material.
So it was Elaine who is responsible for Jerry taking the suit (with secondary support of George), and Kramer puts the pants right on the kitchen chop block.
They always do this to each other too. Lol Like when Kramer egged on Jerry to lend Elaine money so she could pay the rent to move into the apartment building. When Kramer convinced Elaine she could run the J Peterman catalog.
The fact that Bania is completely oblivious to Jerry's dislike for him makes me wonder whether I am anyone's Bania, irl.
Ok, now you got me thinking...damn it
Lol same
What's funny is all Jerry friends like him.
You'd probably knew it after some interactions, so Bania for little time before you realize
@@ibramblebushHow can anybody not like him?
That's gold, Jerry, GOLD! 😂
Will forever remember that quote 😎😂
The best Jerry the best 😊
The gesture Kramer makes when Bania says "I'm huge" is just absolute comedy.
I know man. I don’t even fully understand why, it’s just so simple yet sooo funny.
Hilarious😂😂
😂 Goddamn never caught that till now after all these years. Glad to see ur comment. 👊🏼
I love the complete lack of awareness by Bania. He has no idea Jerry detests him.
That's gold!
he's seeming autistic which is ironic in every possible way...
Detest, that's a funny word! Can I use that?
He seems a bit too clueless to me, I don't believe he could actually do even bad stand up.
Like Joe Rogan with actual funny comedians.
I saw Steve Hytner on a Zoom session during the pandemic. He said when he read for Bania the script character description said "the most annoying person on earth" and Steve said yea, I can do that. Ha!
except the different couple of English boyfriends of Elaine, I can hardly watch those episodes, they're boring cringe worthy grubs.
"WHY DON'T YOU GET A SANDWICH!?"
lol, I love that line by Jerry.

One of those lines that I recycle for use on Facebook Marketplace.

Too few people understand that. I hate when people are like "More! More! More!" "Babu should have had his own show!" etc.. Come on..

Yes - you’re right very creative actor he was terrific.
He was on a couple episodes of King of Queens and didn't really play the Bania character, though those KoQ episodes were very limited for him .
Seinfeld is the best sitcom of all time. Literally every episode makes me laugh:)
I have watched and laughed, with repeated full series viewings
Literally!! All 9 seasons were 10/10 ! Most sitcoms fall off after season 4
Definitely! It never jumped the shark, which is no small feat in the world of sitcoms.
Only after season 5, before that it's kinda meh and awkward
