Alberto Pettine I have to buy a subframe still and fix it before I shoot any new videos so it's going to be at least a week maybe two before you see any new S14 vids.
You mention the tank needing to be above the injection point, then say mount the nozzle (injection point) above the tank so it doesn't leak... I know the pump needs to be below but finding a spot where the tank is lower is quite difficult. I would "think" that as long as you run/route your hose higher then injection point, you should be good.
hi there, that was a very informative video about the AEM W/M install!! Really loved it! Thanks. Question though, where did you connect the Boost Safe green wire?
Yeah, 350 wheel is more than enough for me too especially when you want to consider reliability. I'd like to see a video after the dyno video about how long the reservoir lasts on track conditions.
Great video. But this kit is advertised for NA engines. Another friendly note and I’m not having any digs. But when drilling into your intake pipe. Worth mentioning to viewers to make sure debris is cleaned from inside the pipe before installing it. I’m sure you did anyways. 👍🏼
I'm actually curious about this too, because the trunk is like the only place I can mount my tank and my injection point is right at the TB, which sits about mid-way up my engine.
You can install a solenoid in line with the pump, so the solenoid only opens when the controller tells it to inject. It will prevent the tank from gravity feeding into intake.
yep daiier tree sells -20 wiper fliud i ad 1 bottle of heat but my explorer is nat.asp no booost just 4 milage sucking drive all day theres only 1 setting that doesnt run the ac pump so after the pcv catchcan the naxt chamber bubbles BONGS water meth cooling filtering and from 14 to 18 mpg
the check engine light gives me lean code when the gallon tank that drtp fills the bubbler runs out the drips adjust with a fishtank valve and large valve controls the vacume buble leval and to protect my oil seals my last adaptation was to add another pcv valve that tees into the catchcan the atendent at the emissins testing made me nurves when hr asked me what year because it runs cleaner than the 2018 explorer
I really hope that didn't have detergent. If you're near a local Valvoline they have pure methanol on hand in drums. they premix their washer fluid and dilute with water then add detergent. I know people so I can get it. Option for anyone else out there doing this.
Question, how are you testing whether its spraying or not with the car not on? If it sprays at a certain boost level... How are you getting it to just spray on its own? Sorry. New to meth injection.
The problems that occur with water meth injection is if u run out of water meth, your engine is still running with advanced timing and u detonate your pistons to pieces. And u have to run anodized pistons to be certain u are safe also because the methanol causes small cavities in the pistons over time as well. It's not really meant for street applications, more for top fuel dragsters, etc, that get just a few runs out of an engine then chuck it for a new one and they are trying to get the absolute most out of an engine before it's essentially junk to win that next race for money.. U can just have your combustion chamber polished also, to help with detonation, or just back off your timing somewhat...lol
@@deanlapham7930 I'm sure that's the case. I'm not a tech expert on water meth but I know it causes gradual damage to the pistons. I know the whole idea of water meth is to cool the combustion chambers so u can run advanced timing but all I'm saying is if u don't have it built for it u will be in for an expensive ordeal. Its for extreme applications and I was making a point as its not really for street vehicles, and u can get the same remedy by running E85
So if I have a smaller turbo and do not want to upgrade my fuel system and tune my car, can I turn up my pressure with a manual boost controller a few PSI and install one of these to increase power? My car runs 14psi stock and 16psi is the max efficiency point. I want to replace my pump to an oem one, change the fuel filter (99 eclipse so older car), and add this with a low spray to kick on when the car hits 14psi. I want the steam clean valve effect and maybe increase the power output a bit by putting it on the 16psi limit for the stock fuel system can handle. Will a MAF and MAP sensor be able to read this correctly or do you have to tune these things in? I assume that the car will run more timing with lower temperatures but obviously not more timing than designed w/o tunning. Good idea to keep an old car running safe?
If you install this without any tuning it will do nothing but make the car run poorly. You need to get the car tuned at which point you can add timing and make more power. Remember though that ultimately you want to add more timing, boost and fuel with the help of meth to make big power.
Well if the timing is adjusted within a range based on temperatures and I can turn up the boost 2psi with the stock injectors, it will make my car run poorly with a small amount of meth to cool it? The only reason you tune a car is to changing timings outside the given range or when you upgrade the fuel injectors so elaborate more please?
IF YOU ARE GOING TO DO THIS, PLEASE KNOW YOUR RUNNING THE RISK OF BLOWING YOUR MOTOR, AND AT MINIMUM, def CAUSING A NICE KNOCK PRETTY QUICK. Boost (pressure) + PCV possitive crank vent being stock (assuming) = force against force in confined space. AKA overboosting. you need to slow down to a bar of boost max and make sure to take care to not add more pressure, heat and whatnot on stock rods.
hey guys, Im a Fifteen y/o with about 100 hours in fixing cars and i was wondering if you guys think that I could do this with a good kit! please, don't be afraid to be honest! :)
No and No, the ecu doesnt compensate for water injection, and even if it did the amount if can adjust isnt nearly enough for whats needed to properly tune the water injection.
Yes you can. Two things, if you only have 91 or less available in your market, you will see a benefit from it. It won't be a high as force inducted cars but noticeable. On hot days your engine won't pull any timing as your keeping your inlet temps cooler or as cool as the air temp outside or ambient.
Block out your license plate, besides Corvettes don't get stolen nearly as much as Suburbans due or Camry's for that matter, I wouldn't worry about it.
This was a way easier installation video than others I’ve seen.
First one color s14 that ever hit the track...
Alberto Pettine Hahaha, best comment so far!
Speed Academy when are you guys uploading? Thank you BTW
Alberto Pettine I have to buy a subframe still and fix it before I shoot any new videos so it's going to be at least a week maybe two before you see any new S14 vids.
Speed Academy Thanks! I discovered your channel yesterday and im already subscribed and watched all of your videos, they are wonderful!
Alberto Pettine Thank you! Glad to hear you're enjoying the videos.
You left out the boost hose install. I wanted to see how you installed it into the manifold.
Nice man, love you installed everything. Can't wait for the next once.
Looks very clean cant wait to see the results
I ordered my kit today... looking forward to getting it! =)
how did it go?
great DIY video man, helped me a lot and plan on doing this to my rsx over the winter :)

This video has helped me installing mine. Thank you so much!
Nice! excited to see the results
nice vid shouldnt u paint the holes tho? so to prevent rust etc ? (y)
+1 , I would have used rivnuts too instead of them self tappers.
Thanks to you I understand the process 👍❤️🙏
How did you perform the test exactly when it shot water into the bottle? Did you have to run the car and get into boost?
I love that s14 with a passion
I suggest you to use vodka in your meth system cuz it contains 40% ethanol, it is a good and cleaner alternative to windshield washer fluid
Ярослав Немирович Vodka is a hell of a lot more expensive then windshield washer fluid here in Canada. Nothing like in Russia!
Speed Academy in Russia it's not cheaper :) i've suggested it because its cleaner and contains more alcohol
Ярослав Немирович Methanol and ethanol are not the same thing, one gets your drunk the other makes you go blind.
You must drink both with exact concentration. But 1:1 it's not good - 50 deaths in Czech republic few years back.
Hey mate I was thinking of using this instead of an intercooler? Would it work? I'm only wanting 6 to 8psi on a v8
Just have one question, how do I test the pump with the car battery ? First Black to black and then hot to hot?
Love it! What's the power goals for the car?
Daniel Fenton Hoping to make 350whp. Don't really need more... yet.
Yeah, 350 wheel is more than enough for me too especially when you want to consider reliability. I'd like to see a video after the dyno video about how long the reservoir lasts on track conditions.

I really learn a lot form each video. Thanks !
+Stigs722 Glad we're teaching you something!
This is sweet, I want to see it run!
According to AEM the tank should be below the injection point
Actually the pump needs to be below the injection point not the tank.
They actually say the nozzle should be mounted higher than the tank when they tap the intercoooler piping for the nozzle.
If your going to do it that way put a solenoid in.
awaiting the results from this...
Hb you use the actual window washer tank for a seven cleaner look
yep daiier tree sells -20 wiper fliud i ad 1 bottle of heat but my explorer is nat.asp no booost just 4 milage sucking drive all day theres only 1 setting that doesnt run the ac pump so after the pcv catchcan the naxt chamber bubbles BONGS water meth cooling filtering and from 14 to 18 mpg
If you run E85/methanol full time is this needed? Shouldn't an E85 conversion kit handle any knock issues if it's tuned correctly?
Or go e85 and meth so you can add more boost and power as long as you have enough injector and pump for it.
What tri-gauge cluster is that?
dope video bro clean install !!
Dear sir how to install methanol controller vacuum line
Damn that looks easy as hell. Did you need n3w injectors
I'm glad I have a larger vehicle with room in the engine bay.
+Speed Academy Is it really ok to just tap the nozzle into the intercooler piping without welding a bung onto it?
doing this job on the weekend wondering the same
Hey, what did you connect the green wire to?
What about the green wire?
What was the drill size?
Does a car have to be turbo to do this?
the check engine light gives me lean code when the gallon tank that drtp fills the bubbler runs out the drips adjust with a fishtank valve and large valve controls the vacume buble leval and to protect my oil seals my last adaptation was to add another pcv valve that tees into the catchcan the atendent at the emissins testing made me nurves when hr asked me what year because it runs cleaner than the 2018 explorer
What part number is this one and can I use this on a carburetor engine
friend. My kit arrived with 3 noozle. how do i know which one is 250, 500 or 1000cc?
Great video!
what happend if you hit de rev limiter ?
I really hope that didn't have detergent. If you're near a local Valvoline they have pure methanol on hand in drums. they premix their washer fluid and dilute with water then add detergent. I know people so I can get it. Option for anyone else out there doing this.

+Joe Galofaro There's a test button on the AEM controller so you can trigger the system and see if its working without actually being into boost.
slick tank install

You mean ceramic coated pistons? Also nearly every kit comes with a low level sensor

Speed Academy Ten 4.Thanks!
The way he said cheapest METHod
Come to California and help me with my project haha!
I'm the one who NOx.
Andre Juul I am not in danger! I am the danger!
You didn't remove the spare tire? Weight savings bro!
18iser Haha, it gets removed at the track. Otherwise, street car bro!
Can I run my z51 2016 stingray with some meth :D
+CarFoodEthusiast Spacey You certainly can although Im not sure how much improvement you'll see because its not forced induction from what I recall.
+CarEnthusiastCollector Clockwork Lets see some vids of the badass sting ray bud
+Kevin Alexander lol I don't put videos of my car on social media you can add me on ig and check out some burnout vids
