This is the best lens repair video on the net. Thank you. I feel confident taking my phone apart after hanging with you for a little bit. The other videos scared the hell out of me where people are working above the camera with razor blades. You did it right and did it smooth. I appreciate this!
My lenses aren’t broken but instead have condensation on the inside from being dropped in a lake for 2 min, this video helped me understand that I could clean the inside of the lenses without replacing the entire rear glass. my phone has been in a closed container with a dehumidifier and that has not been successful in removing the condensation.
Great last tip brother.. Does screws can get really expensive when they are stuck. Rear Camera has most magnets and they get stuck there a lot. Good video..Appreciated it. I have a shop in LA CA called PHONER and we always check for those and sometimes miss them and it happens but not on high end screens lol. Thanks God..Those screens are only available Apple refurb or Apple direct and they can be $300-$400 plus even from vendor direct.
Thank you for the tips. It only takes 1 time damaging a screen from loose screws before you never make that mistake ever again. I’ll make sure to mention the rear camera magnets in my future videos.
@franciscocardone7738 they will either swap out the entire phone for $99 or swap out the back housing for $29. If it’s a hairline crack they usually replace just the housing. Id theres a gaping hole in the lens they swap out the whole device
Just use plastic nylon tool and you'll be fine. Don't open the screen front my own experience. Opening screen you can damage the screen and only Apple has that screen available and costs $329 pro and 379 pro max. Smarter to do it from outside and be cautious and break the glass with heat gun or blow dryver and the glass will fall off little by little and use tweezers. Thanks @Phon-er
There are definitely pros and cons to both methods. I’ve seen many instances where someone accidentally stabbed the rear camera and went from just needing a lens to now needing a rear camera.
Open it up and let it dry out for a while. I’ve had times where I clean it up and then it’s fogged up cuz there was still water inside Use q tips. If you still can’t quite clean it out use methanol, as it leaves no residue or streaks
@@repaironwheelshello I had someone dry out my camera since water got into it , camera works fine but now the cameras glass has streaks on it from where he cleaned it and now he tells me I need to replace the whole camera , what can I do ? I’m not paying $200 to replace the whole cameras if they are working just fine !! They are just dirty
@AandJ_VLOGS19 depends on whether the streaks are on the actual camera or the inside of the camera lens. I use methanol to avoid streaking. But if the issue is on the actual camera than it needs to be replaced
There’s 3 parts. The actual camera, the inside of the camera lens and the outside of the camera lens. The camera lens being the piece of glass that sits in between the outside world and the camera. If the guy did a bad job and used something that left streaks on the inside of the camera lens, that’s fixable. If the streaks are on the camera, unfortunately that’s not something that’s able to be cleaned. Meaning the camera would need to be replaced
Generally when dust/debris gets on the actual camera it needs to be replaced. You can try cleaning off but you’ll likely have spots/fuzzies in your images. Most easily seen by holding up a white sheet of paper
What about if it’s the bigger part that also got scratched like a hairline fracture through two of the glasses and that is also the entire square to replace?
The glass surrounding the camera lens is apart of the back glass/housing. The square is attached to the rest of the back glass, if that broke you need to replace the back glass or housing depending on your preference. Email/text me and I can quote you for either
The common misconception is that replacing the gasket doesn’t automatically make the device water resistant. I see a lot of devices that have never been opened that water somehow managed to get in. As a general rule the moment a device is damaged or opened it’s safe to say it will never be water resistant again
Saying you should use heat if you're a novice is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. On all models from the 12-14 series you should always heat the bezel AND use isopropyl alcohol to loosen the adhesive. You must not open many iphones or you'd damage the oled eventually
Literally all of the videos I use iso. Last time i broke glass or oled on a 12/13/14 series was over a year and a half ago thanks to switching to isopropyl alcohol
@repaironwheels cool man. I think it's pretty cool that you're learning to repair iphones. I just wouldn't humble brag by saying you don't use heat because you're not a novice. We repair upwards of 25 iphones a day and always use heat + iso on any model 12-14 because you run the risk of breaking the oled if you don't. Experience has nothing to do with it
@@repaironwheelsnot the same guy but as someone with no experience in this at all, I feel like theres a bunch of steps to this that will risk me doing more damage to the phone than just the lens being cracked. Plus you need to buy all those tools you used that I don't have, like the heat gun, the screen opener and such

You gotta open it and clean it out unfortunately. I’d leave it to dry out for an hour or so before putting everything back together

When you change the Rear Camera, will the shots in the original state be different?
Not at all
if i hace AppleCare , how much do I have to play ? Do they do the same of you or put a new replacement, ?

How about the water resistance?
I wouldn’t expect it to be water resistant anymore
Could you send me the link for the Camera glass for the exact same Phone so that I can buy that to. And it is real sapphire glass right. Thank you!

Any tips for removing condensation from inside the camera lens? My photos look extremely blurry now.

Hi just wanted to know after replacement of lense glass will phone be water resistant ? Is there any chances that water Or dust may go inside?
I’m included to say no, the phone won’t be water resistant
I would say the phone would be 100% waterproof. You can swim with it and go nuts.
The focus is not working well after the lens replacement.. any help or advice? It is 14 pro max
Was there a gaping hole in the lens before you replaced it or just a hairline crack
Same scenario, what’s the difference if there is a gaping hole?
You would need to replace the rear camera assembly
Working now, the camera lens was dirty..can i clean it with some alcohol wipes for lens or jus a dry microfibre?

You opened the phone and repaired it from the outside 😂🎉🎉🎉🎉
👍
Yeah. Can’t u do that without opening it ?
@@repaironwheels ^
It’s certainly possible but its just as likely that the camera will get glass dust/or damaged in some way during the process
@@repaironwheels ok good to know. Thank you.
Why did you open phone?
It far to easy to get glass dust on the camera
@@repaironwheels thank you for clarifying 👍🏻
Where can i buy the lens (rear saphire) ?
I’ve tried looking on Amazon but all of them look kinda sketchy. If you’re in the US I have a few I can sell you, text or call me 7609634948

Do you still have those glass?
@dhruvprb i do

You must not have watched very far because I use and suggest the iso method for removing screens

@repaironwheels you specifically said novices should use heat and that you don't
On top of also using the iso method

When i asked why, I was referring to the person suggesting they would get a new phone as opposed to just having someone like me (ideally me) fixing it
