Just used this video to replace the glass over one of my lenses on my 13 Pro Max and this was a lifesaver! I will say if anyone is having trouble getting the old glass out, using a hairdryer to warm up my old adhesive helped a lot to get the last bits loosened up. ◡̈ thank you!!

It's about 1:15 min drive though and I most likely will have to leave my phone there (so 5 hour driving time). I already got the kit, so I just need to decide if I want to drive/return the kit or go ahead and do it myself.
I figured it out. It’s because all 3 of the glass lenses are different. Like they each have a different thickness border. You need to make sure to put the right one on the camera you are replacing.
@@terrasai2857 you figured out that there is wide angle zoom and normal lens. That’s a separate issue from dirty lens cover glass. The UA-camrs tell you it’s a bad idea to touch the glass with your oily hands, so don’t touch it. When in reality you should inspect it. You should ensure that you’re installing lenses with anything blurry the inner part of the lens. Once you install these glass lens covers, you’d have to break them to remove them. When compared to the original apple lens cover these appear spackled.

As far as I can tell each camera has a different zoom level so you won’t get the zoom level of the one you broke. I broke my far zoom. I fixed it with a kit and this video but it’s still out of focus. At least the glass isn’t broken but I can’t zoom in on photos any more without a blurry image.
@@ewanfraser oof so fixing the camera lens won’t do anything? One of my camera lens is broken now if I zoom too much it won’t focus and camera keeps shaking by itself making the picture blurry.

you have to go from the inside of the phone, first by removing the screen, battery and then the camera... you can then from there use a special iPhone glass breaking pen or something that can destroy the tiny piece of glass without damaging the very sensitive cables next to it.

You are breaking and taking the glass with a metal clamp and u are scratching the lens and around. Nice! There is no way the clamp will not scratch any part
Good video thanks. Unfortunately that same exact lens cracked today on my 13pro (WITH A LENS PROTECTOR) and it was barely a 4 feet (max) drop without any force. Either the lens protector was garbage or the iPhone lens’ are super fragile or both.
Dropped my 13 pro from back pocket height onto the floor and telephoto lens cracked. Even the ultra wide and wide cameras have small scratches on them. Something tells me Apple is not using sapphire or a different weaker kind to what they used to put on their old phones because I have never scratched a lens let alone cracked one
@@anaymakan6989 sapphire is harder to scratch than plain ol’ glass, but it’s more brittle and cracks easier. Tho honestly the iPhone cameras don’t really seem to be made of real sapphire as I’ve seen plenty of people with scratched lenses (sapphire is VERY difficult to scratch with normal everyday items)

The lens covers came from the factory dirty. In the sunlight you can tell how nasty it is inside. Here we go again.

That's a great way to get microscopic glass fragments into the focal motor. ALWAYS remove the camera before doing this.

Don’t scratch it, use mineral turpentine on glue then use isopropyl alcohol to clean

Yeah. I mean don’t overthink it. Anything soft and wind shed lint you’re good to go. Rubbing alcohol is your friend in this case.
