@@jeffcharlesaerialphotograp1367 Of course it's worth while to pay $110 for a new battery if you have no choice. Point taken. I replaced battery on my iPhone 7 Plus but ripped the ribbon to the Taptic Engine so had to buy one off ebay and reopened it all all again. Wasn’t much to get a new one but it’s far too easy to catch or twist the ribbons.

All you’ll need: a spent nuclear fusion rod, a single tear from the Virgin Mary, 5 circus monkeys, a current written statement of consent from Steve Jobs, at least 10 years of bomb disposal training, and a blood sacrifice to Cthulhu.

It’s enough if battery is replaceable easily at authorized repair - which in iPhone’s case it is. Also, recycling must be in order.
It makes no sense to enforce removable batteries on devices which need typically only one battery replacement during their lifespan. If you need extra capacity during travelling etc. then an external battery or a case is much more convenient.
Just let authorized repair replace the battery for you and don’t worry about it.

I won't speak for iFixit, but based on other iPhone battery repair videos I've seen, it's a lot easier to remove the pull-tabs with those components removed. Out of curiosity, what is the point of these repair guides when the device hasn’t been out for a year yet? Unless it suffered accidental damage or was modified, any battery issues (along with any other issues) are covered by the 1 year warranty... you still have 3 months and then some left.

I wish speaker adhesive gaskets were available because it’s a necessary component for the water resistance aside from the gasket around the display. But I’ve just been using rubbery liquid adhesive and topping it off with conformal coating and that seems to do the trick

Alessandro Neiva Because modern phone battery tech has advanced heaps since the iPhone 6/6s days... the iPhone 6/6s has a bad battery by today’s standards. And the fact that you charge your battery from 0%-100% twice a day isn’t helping your situation either. In fact, it actually kills the battery much faster.

Water Resistant & Dust Proof...two things that nobody asked for. If they did a survey, I guarantee that 85% would say that they'd rather have a user-replaceable battery. My old Note 4 was perfect. Always carried an extra battery or two.
This is total idiocy. I can't believe how many pieces have to be removed--with all different screws no-less--to take out a simple battery. And why so much adhesive?
