I have the iPhone 14 pro for personal use and iPhone 13 Pro for work. I always have a screen protector on my lens but I forgot to replace a protector on my iPhone 13 Pro which caused a cracked on my rear lens (the top one). I went to Apple Store yesterday to get it repaired and they quoted me $499 to get it repaired and they didn’t even have the part! Thank god I found your video to be able to save me $499 and solved this issue myself! Bought the repair kit on Amazon, the same company you bought from and just did it myself. What a life saver!! I didn’t even bother reading the instructions and just watched your video step-by-step! 🎉 For anyone nervous about doing this procedure, it wasn’t bad at all! I have an Otterbox on my iPhone 14 Pro. That particular case does not allow the space to use the lens protection for the camera. I dropped my phone and it landed face down. I couldn’t believe the camera lens broke landing the way it did. But the glass cover the camera is extremely thin. I replaced the cracked screen protector . I ordered the kit to fix camera lens. great tutorial. i was a bit cheeky and decided to heat the adhesive with soldering iron. at one point my iron slid right into the side of the lens and melted in a huge dent. i thought that the whole thing was ruined but the photos or videos on all regimes seem to be absolutely unchanged. i finished the fix with the lens melted and it works like a nothing has happened. what is the lens for? it was the lower one

My daughter broke her protector lens and was struggling to get it off. We tried alcohol to strip the glue, no success. We then tried using diff tools to remove it. She decided to look it up on You Tube. After watching ur video she removed it in seconds! Thank YOU!!
I literally have the same cracked lens right now. And my phone is ALWAYS in the expensive thick lip case to keep it safe. The moment I switch my castify case and remove my lense protector I got a crack. And before I knew it half the glass was out 😫

I put a replacement lens on mine. My zoom 1 and 4 work perfect but the middle two zooms are always blurry. What can I do? Can I remove the replacement lens and try a different one? How can you get it off if it’s not broken?

Dang! I’d be so nervous doing that repair. That’s why I got these lens covers on ever since I bought the 13 Pro Max. Also try putting a case that have rear projections at the bottom of the phone, so that the lenses wouldn’t be the first and foremost place to get the fall shocks/ scratches. Nice video.

I tried using lens protectors but they would always interfere with my camera, especially when trying to zoom in or focus in on an object.
@@cameronleerodriguez I had the same concern initially, but I invested in high quality expensive covers, that never interfered with zoom, focus or image quality. It’s recommended you change them once a year, since they also undergo material degradation and sometimes get loose or collect dust particles beneath them.

I usually keep my phone 2-4 years. bought a 14 pro and the same camera lens as yours is busted. don't even know when it happened. when to clear the screen and camera one day and saw it was scattered. probably because that lens is the one that touches everything first when we lay it down on a table, desk, sidewalk..... repair looks easier than I thought.
Definitely agree about a flush camera and thicker phone with bigger battery.
I have the 13 pro, broke exact same one as in the video. I was on vacation and not really sure what happened. I remembered it happening before. When I looked at my orders on Amazon, looks like the last time was about 6 years ago, on a 6 or 7. Before that, had never happened. I am pretty careless with my phone, I admit.

Ive rarely, if ever, dropped my phone, and I had the same issue with the bottom camera lens cracking. Started with a perfectly horizontal line across the entire lens which fractured and ended with a hole in my lens. Apple quoted me $99 to repair the phone, but they ultimately replaced the entire thing because it was “unrepairable” (even though I’m watching you repair yours right now…). I wonder how many other people are cracking their lenses.

I bought myself the iphone 14 Pro max and my daughter the iphone 14 pro in April . On June 30 my camera lens was ready for the second replacement and my daughter” was ready for it’s first replacement.

It had to be Murphys Law that a very small rock was right there on the side wall where I dropped my iPhone 13 Pro. I was walking down the sidewalk with my granddaughter. It didn’t hit hard but it cracked my macro lens😟 I had a high quality Loopy Case and was not using my loop😮 The camera lenses are flush “within” the case so it has always been fine! I ordered the Loopy diamond lens cover to protect it

Hi. Mine is an iPhone 12 Pro Max. I cracked the screen but none of the pieces fell. How do I take the old screen out if there’s no open cracks to start pulling off. It’s literally just cracks and no break. Basically crack lines. I really want to repair but not sure how to pull of the old screen after heating.

No, it’s been perfectly clear and I used it a few times on filming UA-cam videos.

I have had various iphones since the summer of 2007. I bought an 14 Pro in the the past year. At the time of purchase I bought a camera lens cover and new otter box. I dropped the phone recently and the lens cover (not the one used in this video, rather a cover sold at time of purchase...) popped off and one of the 3 lenses broke. I have never has a lens break in the past 15 years. I was told that the "fix" would cost at least $600 and that far more than the lens would need replaced. I am confused by this. There is no evidence of any other part of the phone being damaged. So, I will be following the instructions in the video this weekend. Wish me luck!

Did you order a genuine Apple part from their self service repair? I hate that you can’t use non Apple parts because it will keep displaying the non genuine Apple part message.
It doesnt connect with the logicboard or any other part, its just glass from the outside, it won't display any messages

Left camera on car hood, flew off got ran over by somebody else and all they did was break two of these lenses. I’ve been using the phone for a year since then I want to try to fix it.
I just tried to replace my lens following your video and using the same kit. I must’ve gotten some dust inside, but now I can’t remove the replacement lens. I’ve tried heating it and using both of the tools provided to pry out the replacement lens from the edge, but it’s stuck in there really tightly. Any advice? I just want to try again with another replacement lens but I can’t get it out to try.
Damn, that's tough. If I were in your shoes, I would try using a keyboard air can cleaner. Just be super careful, but proceed at your own risk. If you're not sure, it wouldn't hurt to contact a local shop and explain what you're doing. Some people are pretty cool and will help you out.

Yesterday, I accidentally cracked one of the lenses on my iPhone 11. The only thing I care about is that the trade-in value dropped from $200 to $50. However, I might replace it myself to restore its value 😅 The camera still works fine. If anyone reading this knows if this is a bad idea let me know!

There's still a gasket, but I wouldn't call it waterproof; it's more water-resistant than waterproof.

I took my phone out of the case to change the screen protector. I had it out of the case for a couple of days. It just kind of fell off my computer, not even on the floor or anything. I took up the phone to plug it back into the charger, and something stabbed me. Turned it over and the camera lens is shattered. It only fell inches off my laptop and was hanging on my purse. I don’t know how it would have cracked. This has NEVER happened to me… NEVER and I’ve dropped my phone on hard surfaces.
It depends honestly. It’s less than 20 dollars to do yourself but this is also time consuming. It’s honestly up to you.
Also, I thought apple car was free the first time, then $99 for the next fix. I could be wrong but just check just in case.
