  • I had a day out with Dom - AKA @driverfilmsshortwavechannel at the British Vintage Wireless Society - www.bvws.org.uk/
Here's a few snapshots of some of the items available for sale on the day - all at incredible low prices. Several things I bought myself, and Dom didn't come away empty handed either - I'm sure a few items will appear on our respective channels here on UA-cam.
The British Vintage Wireless Society (BVWS) is a society of over 1200 World-wide members sharing a common interest in the preservation and communication of technical and historical data, and the preservation and restoration of Vintage radio and related equipment.
Regular meetings are held around the UK. These meetings have stalls selling vintage radio and related items, and often also include a bring-and-buy stall, working displays of vintage equipment, historical presentations and an auction. Refreshments are available at reasonable prices. Take a look at the events diary page for current details. www.bvws.org.u...

Nice one, some interesting gear there. Hopefully I'll catch another show at some stage.

I wish I could get up there. My favourite is the little cream Philco. I had one of these years ago and what a great set. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice, liked the look of the little Roberts Green valve radio, shame about its badge missing. Was nice to see the TV's working.

I was amazed to see an old Armstrong tuner amplifier still alive. Might be a 625?? I used to be in retail (Audio T) in that era. I remember that series being really unreliable. Intermittent switches, overheating, blowing up etc. We stopped selling them in the end. Sad really because they had a fair sound quality and when they worked, they worked well. Only the Goodmans Modules 80, 90, 110 were less reliable. These were famous, as one of the push buttons on the front panel was pressed, another would fly off. It was funny, but not a good trick to sell them.
