- This is just a walkround video from Sunday 4th Dec 2022 meet and auction. I filmed as much as I could without getting too many faces in the video. Normal service will be resumed shortly!
Nicely shot video George. They certainly had some nice items there and plenty of stalls. Cheers Graham
Thanks for sharing this George! What a great collection of unique and vintage radios, parts, valves, etc. I would have been like a kid in a candy store! I could have dropped a fortune in there! I have nothing close to where I live to find anything like that. For the most part very fair prices too!
It was a real mishmash of old and new, complete sets and parts. I did manage to sell a signal generator and I spent the money on some interesting stuff in the auction. I really am glad to have gone. They hold various meetings around the country over the year and I try to go to as many as possible. The star of the auction was a 1920's set that sold for almost 3 grand!
Thanks for uploading this - It was a good day. Buying stuff is always good, but the meeting up with friends is priceless.
Great to see you there, hopefully more folk to meet up with at the next one, although Colin made it there too, and even Simon came full-cycle...
It was a fun day out and meeting up with everyone makes it even more special.
Nice video George, came up on the home screen. Stuck your title into google. wonder where it was, village hall, a bit old school with the stage, got one down the road, local centre, similar time I bet. So not a million miles from me. Royal Wooton Bassett.Got a hit on the BVWS web page. Been up that way on an organised bike ride from Swindon, some older ugly leisure centre on outskirts. Can get into Swindon repeater on a handheld when on a walk and a bit of heigh out of town, did earlier!. amatuer radio thing. I like the old radios, the clubs radio rally always have a few of the old school sets, mostly Amatuer radio stuff and electronic, new as well, This a bit different, lots of MW, LW recievers, very nice. Some dear Hewlett Packard test things there.
Thanks for filming. Several items in there I would have leapt on. Pity there isn't something like this in my part of the country
Most of us have to travel for it. Next year there are a couple more local to me but even the distant ones are great to see friends at.
Nice to see what I missed. Looks like you all had a fun day out.
It was a fun day for sure. Spent too much money but it was worth it.
Hey George, if I didn't know better I'd think I was watching one of RadioWIld's events in New Jersey. LOL
Similar events but squarer boxes! Very few Zenith's! I just thought I'd wander round with my phone taking a bit of video.
Thanks for Sharing George some nice stuff there, couple of things I might have bought had I been there, but I have enough !
We all have enough, but I managed to still buy more. Car boot is still full.
@@GeorgeChristofi I'm not in the least bit surprised!
Looks like a fun time - couldn’t make this one. I see the vintage wireless museum had their stall up.
Yes, they have the stall at all of the events. Next one is the AGM at Biggleswade which is local to me so I'll probably be there for that.
Good to see more junk I could have spent my hard earned on. Some nice top quality junk there.
You were dearly missed. It was one of those events where there was everything and nothing.
A lot of good stuff there and at reasonable prices! My “local” meets are fairly pathetic and extremely overpriced so I have stopped going.
Looked like a lot of interesting items there George. How was you sales resisitance that is to say did you buy a lot. Thanks for sharing.
Resistance was ok this time, spent very little compared to normal. Just wasn't a lot that took my fancy.
Hi George, lots of nice stuff there, did you buy that radio you had in your hand?
I didn't in the end Bill, but I did buy a box of radios in the auction. I have yet to empty the car though so I don't actually know exactly what I got!
Well done George nice stream .do you know when the next one is ??
The next one is march 2023 but the diary has quite a few events. www.bvws.org.uk/events/diary.php
❤
Did you manage to get some roberts or was the prices a bit naughty :-D
It seems that blokes have the most interest.
Did you repair all the radios you had in your shack that needed love?.
Its a good hobby, good for the brain :-D
To be honest Harvey there were very few woberts or hackers around there. I have come nowhere near repairing all the radios at home yet and still they arrive by post... a box of 6 more from ebay today!
@@GeorgeChristofi You will be soon competing with mr cruncher lol.
just hadn't seen you for a while. ill shut my face now (if that's possible :) )
@@zx8401ztv my fault really. Just have to get into the swing of things again.
Hi George, did you buy anything ? ps. I see you did, lol.
I spent a fair bit in the auction. Bought a box of radios, some test gear and a few other bits.
That's cool George. I would have bought that old MURPHY sign I since I love Murphy products, lol. Great video you made.
