I have been to almost every Audiojumble event for at least the last 12 years but never this event. This has convinced me to make the trip this year. Thanks.

Glad you enjoyed my video! This was my first visit in thirty years. I used to attend when it was called the National Vintage Communications Fair, back when it first started in 1992. It was refreshing for me to see like-minded people again.

What an incredible display of past tech. I'm a retired man who lives in Cape Town South Africa. I became a radio and electronics hobbyist in my early teens. I've owned a few great pieces of valve and transistor gear over the years and built some basic devices as well. But here it seemed there was almost everything ever made to drool over or purchase. Thank you !

Glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you for sharing your experience. The variety of gear on display makes it a paradise for vintage electronics enthusiasts. I didn't know where to look myself when I first entered the event. Cheers from the UK to Cape Town, South Africa.

Wow, some lovely old peace's there, back in the day most of people couldn’t stretch to buying items like this and rented them, I remember the rent man calling for his money for the tv and radio once a month then it went to meter’s on the telly, glad to say we did eventually own our first colour telly when they started showing the bond films on tv. The world was a much better place back then my dad died last month, I wish I could turn the clock back. Thanks for sharing this footage. 😉🙏

Glad you enjoyed my video! Thank you for sharing your memories. As an apprentice TV engineer in the 70s, one of my jobs was to fit the coin meters on the back of TV sets. They were great times. It's fascinating how technology has evolved. Sorry to hear about your loss; cherish those nostalgic moments.

Great pair of videos. Spotted my wife a few times and myself eventually 😅. Bought the wooden radio horn you can just about see under the table at 6:58. I already had a driver unit, so I have done a couple of videos getting it up and running. Thanks 👍 😀

Nice one! Yes, I have seen it. Great to hear you have found some retro goodness. It makes capturing all that video footage worthwhile. I'll subscribe to your channel and check out your videos. Really looking forward to this year's show. My only concern is what I'll end up bringing home. If you see an old bald guy with a GoPro, give me a nod.

Thank you very much for showing us this Vintage Electronics Fair held in Coventry, England!! Although i am a man living in Sri Lanka in South Asia, i enjoyed well viewing the items, because it is very interesting to see specially these rare electrical items which cannot be seen nowadays.
But i wish that you had paused more for us to view the open reel tape recorders/decks (spool tapes), record players/turntables, radio/ record player combinations, radio and cassette recorders, music centres, cassette decks, CD players, stereo amplifiers, stereo tuners etc. and the LP & EP record stacks. Regards !

Great to hear that you enjoyed the glimpse into the Vintage Electronics Fair in Coventry, England! It's fantastic to know that my coverage reached all the way to Sri Lanka. I understand your enthusiasm for retro electronics. My particular interests are vintage radios and televisions, but rest assured, I will do my best at the 2024 Retro Tech UK event to spend more time filming open reel tape recorders/decks and record players/turntables. Cheers from the UK to Sri Lanka! Mrs. H and I visited Sri Lanka in 2019; we had an incredible three-week tour. I have several videos on my other channel of our time there. If you are interested in our tour, there's a link in my channel description.

@@electronicarchaeology Yes, i enjoyed watching that glimpse into the Vintage Electronic Fair in Coventry, England! Thanks! Ah, your coverage reached well all the way to Sri Lanka also. I understood that your interests are mainly with vintage radios and TV's and that's okay. I look forward to watch your 2024 Retro Tech UK event video as i already subscribed your channel. I appreciate very much your kind attention towards my humble request. My interests are with audio equipments like tape recorders/ decks, record players/turntables etc.
I am very delighted to know that you were here in Sri Lanka with Mrs. H in 2019!! I noted that you had an incredible three week tour here. I am again very happy to hear it and thank you for visiting Sri Lanka!! I like to say that its very good that you visited here at that time, because after the covid19 outbreak Sri Lanka is suffering from a financial crisis due to govt. mismanagement and corruption. But now we are overcoming it slowly and we hope everything will be back to normal in near future.
Of course, i am anxious to see those of your videos! I will definitely watch them when i am free and will send you responses soon. Thank you very much for your kind reply!! Greetings & Best Wishes from Sri Lanka!!

Brilliant! Seeing the Ferrograph reel-to-reel (series 2 Or greater? I can't remember) instantly took me back to being 13 or 14 years old & plugging an extra playback head in for sound-on-sound / echo! My dad used to do swaps with lots of electronic items in the 1970's (he previously had his own tv & radio repair shop at age 20 !). He really got me interested at an early age - including fault-finding & doing the 'convergence' on many valve / transistor tvs (with a mirror placed in front of tv so I could check each r/g/b convergence lines) - I was only 11 or 12 years old at the time! (I read quite a few of those purple-backed Newnes books as well). He also taught me tube reactivation but I was too scared to do this on my own (the smell of ozone just came flooding back to me, writing that!). It was taking the red HT 'suction cup' off the tube's back & putting a screwdriver in to discharge the high voltage, that really scared me! Thanks for this (& part one!). It really brought back some lovely memories now that most of my family have long-since passed away. I wish they made decent (affordable) hifi today - you can't beat the sound of an analog amplifier in my opinion!

Glad you enjoyed the video! Thank you for sharing your experience. What a trip down memory lane! Your reminiscence of tinkering with the Ferrograph reel-to-reel and learning electronics with your dad is truly heartwarming. It's amazing how those experiences stick with us. Thanks for sharing your story! I agree, earlier audio gear has a special charm. No need to buy new when there's plenty to choose on eBay, and those retro audio shops are definitely worth exploring!

Yes, it was a great event. I love 1970s gear. I will do my best to include more variety filming the 2024 Retro Tech show. Mrs. H also had her eyes on the RCA dog. However, here in the UK, we call it the HMV (His Master's Voice) Dog. But if you type either into Google, you'll get the same thing. Thanks for your input!

Thanks for your input. I'll try a little harder to include more audio gear during this year's event. Although my video style involves no planning and filming is done on the fly, my eye will naturally seek out my own particular interests, and that's where the camera will follow. Unfortunately, I can't please everyone, which is why I made two videos. I would love to visit the flea markets in Hungary.

@@electronicarchaeology yea no problem dude. Im not sure if you can turn them on for other countries and forget how to do so if its a thing. I didn't get into youtube stuff like that all that much im a bit old fashion to even know how that works. Or at least years ago you couldn't turn them on if it was disabled after being uploaded, for other countries other then where the video originated from so uk for an explain can only comment or europe can comment either gets the idea across
