It's not the resolutions or graphics detail or the consoles it's the developers. This game doesn't look nextgen at all even on high end pcs. Arkham knight looks better and runs smoothly on a PS4 red dead 2 runs smoothly on a ps4, this game is stuttering and loosing frame rates even when the scenes are full of low res textures and geometry similar to ps2 ,This shows it's not the consoles problem it's the developers bad engineering.
A stable 30fps is always appreciated. I tried playing Jedi Fallen Order with a dynamic frame rate and was all over the place. Then swapped to lock 30fps with dynamic 4K and yeah controller response was way better. Horizon and Spider-Man all felt excellent at a lock 30.
People with mid range or old hardware should definitely consider playing at 30 and cranking settings/resolution up instead of trying in vain to hold 60 despite your game looking like a vaseline smudge. This game is gorgeous and it NEEDS a high resolution to shine, the effects scale like shit with lower resolutions... so yeah, I recommend 30 FPS to most people that don't have 2080 Tis/3070 and up.
@@andrewsqual CDPR did not give them pre-release copies for consoles, they were only allowed to talk about the PC version. It's the developer who deliberately hid it from us. I don't see it being the reviewer's fault.
If you are still playing on the base Xbox one you seriously need to invest some money, like how is that possible the base Xbox one should be obsolete by now .
Disabling some graphical settings improves the frame rate a lot. And I would rather have the same dynamic resolution but have the lower limit set at 1080p instead.
@@farisakhtar4824 dynamic resolution is great for balancing performance and quality until you’re rendering scenes at noticeably different resolutions. I personally find it much better if it’s less noticeable. They should keep the top and bottom within a certain degree. Maybe they should’ve at least used the PS4 Pro’s res target. It would have looked about the same, but I’m sure it would’ve been an almost perfect 30.
@@traceyates1506 its already noticeable when you're driving and in dense crowds. You don't drop from 1674p to 1224p without noticing. And anyway 1080p is not a bad resolution, at least not to me. It wasn't too long ago games were in 720p and looked good for their time. Frame rate over resolution so it can at least remain above 25fps.
They probably have a server dedicated to holding their 'backup' apologies and promises. Along with a schedule, and automated system to release specific ones in case of certain events happening. Taking a page from the BP playbook. "Uh oh, another oil spill, get the apology commercials queued up"

They are now accepting refund requests though. So its a come around. Thank god. Otherwise people would have definitely lost all trust. Even the PC requirements are not accurate. The recommended system which i have barely gives over 40 even on low-med preset.
I doubt 100% of people who are unhappy with their console versions will get a refund though. CDPR will probably make more profit this way than if they had warned everybody beforehand in a fair way.

It’s also possible that they were confident that the day 1 patch would fix all of these problems and they didn’t want to show off the game without the patch (clearly it did not fix the issues.) As a consumer you should wait until the day of release to make your decision to buy the game. I don’t understand why people pre order games. But if you are one of those people that wanted to play it at midnight on release day, you can always get a refund.
That's just not true. There would have been more backlash by players who paid the same as the PC version but have to wait months to play it They should have been transparent and tell us the performance is shit, but that it's the players choice whether they want to wait or play it at abysmal performance. Not a perfect compromise but better than making console players weave around social media for months avoiding spoilers

As a mid level pc player who has been getting solid performance with tweaks, this puts into perspective the outrage and the unfortunate state of many players.
People keep on bitching at me about how the version I'm playing (PS4 on the Pro) is not much better than the base console version when it usually goes between 25-30fps and rarely hits lower than what the guys in the video get. I just am like '. . . Fuck! What the hell, man! At least the version I'm playing is STABLE and runs decently well with fewer issues than the base console version!' Saying that the Pro/X1X/S is not much better than the PS4/X1when it comes to being able to play Cyberpunk is like saying The Dark Knight is not much better than Batman Begins or that Revenge of the Sith isn't much better than the rest of the Star Wars prequels.

The thing is they’re not GPU limited per se. They’re CPU limited with how the game handle crowd, asset streaming, etc. In my opinion, the only way they can fix this is by increasing (I mean by huge amount) of asset duplication which can ease a little bit the bottleneck created by 5400rpm HDD. Of course this will result in a substantial increase of a game file size (we are talking COD like size here or even bigger). This is one of the problems when you make the games with an SSD-optimised in mind. And to further ease the streaming system especially while driving fast within these high density city they need to at least double the amount of LODs per object which is also going to substantially increase the game file size which can ease both CPU decompression time and system RAM (GDDR). All of these extra resource can be use to handle at least an acceptable amount of crowd present on a per scene basis. If you look at this game the crowd are very dynamic on their own which means this will hurt this weak CPU logic a lot. The way to solve this is to make the dumb-crowd system like in the early 2010-ish style games, where different NPCs move in pack with a noticeable sync-move set if that make sense. And makes only few of them move dynamically (AI like).

The game have near 50GB, even if they increased it 3 time, to something like 150GB but making the whole experience beter, i don't see any problem in that(The problem will be that the game will use way more space on the next gen machines until the proper next gen update arrives). RDR2 have more than 100GB and it's not as beautifull on the base machines as it is on the Pro/X, but it is really playable, anyone would sacrifice Storage in benefit of a playable game.

Even if people did pay attention and followed the news closely.. if they pre ordered or bought it early on, there was no footage of last gen consoles at all.
I talked to one of them. He played on a base Xbox and was super happy, raved about how great the story is and how he was having a fantastic time. I asked him about glitches and bugs, and he said it was the same way with RDR2 so he figured it'd be fixed with updates and wasn't concerned. I was surprised, a very different response to what I expected, and on top of it he was playing on the worst system.
Finally got myself physical copy of Cyberpunk on PS4 Pro. I wanted to see 1.0 version and if it's really that bad. And it was indeed. Buggy as hell with messy graphics. I patched the game and really have to say that I'm quite impressed. Totally different game. Even the framerate feels stable now. Didn't expect that but I'm really enjoying the game.

Cyberpunk 2077 will most likely be handled exactly like The Witcher 3, which also had a buggy release. CD Projekt Red went on to fix the bugs and even implement some new features (includnig a secondary combat/movement/animation system), while also releasing plenty of free dlc both cosmetic and substantial, such as a couple short single-player quests and a very well implemented New Game Plus mode. Finally, they went on to develop and release two major expansions, and by the time they were done, everyone had forgotten about the buggy release and the Witcher 3 stood tall as one of the greatest games ever...

Xbox one x playing in May 2022...Runs smooth as butter and looks incredible! Running it on a decent tv too I'm sure helps..This is coming from a guy who plays rdr2 in native 4k on a QLED display. CP although not as beautiful in my opinion as rdr2 it holds its own on the one x...if u were doubting getting it do it!!!
That car will blow the doors off of most of the S1 class cars in Forza Horizon 4... I was very surprised. I'm glad I beat it in the head to head so that I can really take advantage of it in future races.
cdpr CEO said that the game is running surprisingly well on current gen, they knew that the game is too demanding for the systems but decided to lie and promote as if there was nothing wrong to get those precious current gen preorders, shame on them
FYI ‘current gen’ is PS5 and Xbox Series (plus Switch). PS4 and Xbox One (plus Wii U) are now last gen. Now that PS3, 360 and Wii are 2 generations back they’re now retro consoles. Glad to clear things up.
Its a shoddy release, the game is not launch ready, all defense of CDPR has to stop - both base consoles are running other openworld games with more going on and higher definition textures at a locked 30fps - GTA V for instance is packed with more traffic and npcs with longer draw distances, easily more demanding. A quick google search shows just as many PC gamers with i9 cpu's and 3000 series GPU's running off NVMe suffering from just as many framerate issues, hitches and glitches.
Even though I have a One X I feel like the resolution should have been locked at 1080 to help with frame drops during gunfights and exploration in the city. The hotfix helped a lot with frame drops and crashes but I feel like they can do more
I'm starting to feel that the Xbox One cannot be fully optimised for this game. I was hopeful before as I know miracles can happen with games being ported. Witcher 3 on switch looks phenomenal now, nobody ever expected that.
It’s painfully obvious it was developed primarily for PC, and within the last stretch they shifted focus to make it playable on consoles. Unsurprisingly, their approach failed.

Umm, I just downloaded it today on PRO. 5 Hours of playtime, 0 crashes. Visuals? Looks good. Not like PC or PS5 but...DUH. Bugs? Only two that I really noticed. One, couldnt switch camera view in my car. Two, Jackie had no guns in his hands, when he clearly shud have. FPS drops? MMM not really, i think a couple times in the car, one during a gun fight. All in all, I'm having fun, lots.
Yeah the pro version is doing well. Before the 1.04 patch I was getting a couple of frame drops here and there but now it's almost a solid 30 with some nice visuals. Wish I could say the same about the base consoles though
@MrLeonthepro They never said that nobody else was having problems, just that they hadn't seen many themselves. Giving their experience just like those who have seen many problems. That said, I believe OP has a very high tolerance for low framerates or just doesn't perceive drops very well because I'm getting lots of them. It feels very much like a ps360 era game in terms of framerate. Lots of bugs too. Janky animations, things falling through the world, many NPCs holding invisible objects etc etc. It's also really low res most of the time. Blurry as hell on a large 4k screen. That's my personal experience.
I'm guessing the issue in the alley is related to Vik's shop getting loaded into memory. Since it's a pretty detailed indoor area it's probably not a part of the "open world" to save on memory. So when you turn rapidly into that alley there is probably a trigger to load those assets, but some component in the old systems simply can't handle streaming the open world and loading "indoor" assets at the same time so the system just hangs or performance tanks.
They deserve the hate tbh. There is only so high and so much your company can be praised u till you fuck up, bad. Even if it happened with a totally new game for them I am happy. They deserve the hate both the devs and the executives but I don't wish them any harm like other apes on the Internet have done. Let's hope they manage to not fix but at least help the situation.
If the base PS4 can run game like The Last of Us Part 2, Red Dead Redemption 2, Ghost of Tsushima at a stable 1080p30fps, all of which have really gorgeous graphics, CDPR really don't have any excuse for their game running at 720p20fps on base PS4.
Cdpr make games for high end pc's and scales them down for consoles, that's the reason why. It still doesn't excuse the state of the game, but there you go...

I'm finding the game incredibly enjoyable on XB1X, even with all the crashes that I had on day one until the second patch came out (still crashes occasionally, but much more rarely now). Games in this genre that nail the aesthetic are so rare that even with the technical issues it's one of my favorite games in recent memory.

Had some NPCs run across a highway, but otherwise it was shockingly good for me, esp compared to this video. Was kind of bummed, wanted the game to be a bit more broken.
On Series X you get a locked 30FPS mode at alot higher than 1080p, with significantly more settings (like denser crowds) or a near 60 FPS at 1080p. Honestly, it runs as well as you could hope for from a 450 pound console. I'm really enjoying it so far. The Only time I've managed to make it consotantly Chug on Series X is Arasaka plaza, where there are HUGE crowds. and even then, only standing in one part of the plaza, looking in a certain direction.
You'd probably have to drop to near 720 to get a reliable 60fps from the xbonks. Even the better clocked polaris GPU in this system can't do 1080/60 on PC.

I feel bad for anyone playing this on a base ps4/xbox. I have been very lucky since the game has been running near perfect on ps4 pro, but this cannot be acceptable. Game companies should simply not release an unfinished game
My friend was playing on Xbox One S and said there was no problem with the framerate. I grabbed the controller and tried playing it and holy shit, it was so choppy. I guess casuals can't really notice fps issues as much as enthusiasts do.
the police ai in this game is something else. i don't think they can actually aggro anyone but the player. Even if the terrible ai drivers run over a cop, they will get mad at you and give you a wanted level
If you like the immersive sim, great level design, slowpace, political and conspiracy, deus ex is for you. While the Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay mechanics feel outdated, many things are not well thought and many issues we already known, good things is the writing, great character, the story are more personal, depressing than the commercial make its look.
@@eduardedy322 FULL development started in 2016. They had a team planning Cyberpunk before Witcher 3 ever released. It was initially intended for last gen. Even in 2016 the PS4 and XB1 were still new
@@Jenema2 planning and developing isn't the same thing, they were full focusing on The Witcher. Pre-production started in 2016 with 15(!) staff members. It is also primarly made for PC hardware, not consoles.
They wouldn't be able to do 60fps regardless and 35-60fps is choppy as hell. The best they could do is 1080p/30fps. Or maybe even 900p/30fps if 1080p wouldn't lock to 30fps. X1X is simply not powerful enough for 60fps at all.
Something I heard is that the graphic cards on both One X and Ps4 pro can't get to their 100% potential because of lack of CPU which Cyberpunk is very heavily relying on. considering both CPU's are wack...
So in short for people who want a TLDR : Xbox One X / PS4 Pro is the bare minimum needed for a fair playing experience, base consoles are total no-goes.
And even those occasionaly drop below 20 fps. A competent PC or the newest gen consoles would be the only viable options for me. If I wouldn't have had ons of those at this moment, I would wait for them either to fix it, or till I've bought a new console/competent pc

@@jeffminn5251 If you feel it runs good enough, that's good for you! Personally I'm a pc gamer and on a monitor I can't really play comfortably below 50/60 fps. For consoles on a tv, that's a minimum of 30 fps for me. But as you say, it's different for everyone. The above is my personal opinion
PS5 is using the BC+ mode with preset profiles operating in PS4 Pro compatibility tier; the "+" part is the backwards compatibility flag that removes the 30fps cap and inserts an unlocked refresh towards 60hz target. You will need to re-download pretty much the entire game package next year when the native PS5 version arrives. It's a delta code path -- it's NOT a patched up extension of the current BC+ version on PS5. So what you see now on PS5 (and Series X) is basically a placeholder backwards compatible PS4 Pro version (and One X on Series X) with minor tweaks to compatibility flags. Dynamic elements of the engine can benefit from the BC+ extensions in terms of harnessing superior clocks -- but those aren't optimal frequency profiles, they can't employ specific next-gen GPU features, they aren't parceling out full PS5 memory, and the excellent SSD/IO is strictly providing 'passive' perks based on raw sequ. speeds -- but doesn't use any of the specialized IO co-processors or unique caching. There's much to exploit in the proper PS5/Series X versions coming next year. The backwards compatible versions you see now will be disappearing when the native code arrives.
Really love the standardization of the Alley Shootout. Earlier the game bugged and you missed the turn and careened into civilians, now it is the only framework for true science of any kind. All hail the Alley Shootout method!
but it looks like Control and there are no NPCs, not mentioning that the gun shooting feels floaty and there are no upgrades worthwhile, it's always about the highest DPS possible.

There are plenty of NPCs in the One X, gun shooting is fine, guns have that oomph & actually feels like you're damaging the enemies, no worthwhile upgrades? Really? Because the stealth, netrunning, combat perks have significantly improved the experience & not really, so far, I'm sticking with only 1 handgun I got from Yorinobu penthouse, been upgrading it, haven't switch to any other handguns so no it's not always about highest dps.
@@noahstevens1886 Crashes can be fixed. I'm talking about hardware issues like bricking, coil whine, artifacting, storage issues... I don't have one but I'd wait until a slim version in 2 years because all the games are gonna be cross-gen (according to Jim Ryan). That's my viewpoint btw.

The last gen cyberpunk version is like getting the switch port treatment from poor fps, muddy textures, to dynamic resolution. Unlike Switch though, they can't tout portability on the ps4/xbone.

They would probably have remake it completely to make it run properly or gut it to the point where it is no longer the same game.
@@adamrasmussen7379 i think there is **some** optimization that can be done to make things perform better than low 20 fps (and mid-low10s) but overall the consoles have just reached their limit, there were games that were hitting that 30fps mark long ago and this is just beyond what these consoles can reasonably handle. running 2020s most demanding game on $300 7 year old hardware just isn't gonna reasonably happen no matter how much optimization goes into it. even though some games look really pretty good even for running that hardware what i think differentiates cyberpunk is for one thing the amount of detail in the world but mainly that there are just so so many lights, for the most part GPUs are just machines that calculate light, the more lights you have the more taxing it is

Got my refund today. Even in my series X it plays and looks like crap. May buy next year when everything its patched and for half the price. I lost all the hype after the 3 or 4 hours I played anyways, so might as well just pass on it. Will be waiting for the Witcher 3 path for the series X

The low consoles are weak sauce Developers will have to lower the res, and other graphics to increase framerate. The game is bad textures as it is. Go for the Gold 🥇 and get an upgraded console, or join the PC MasterRace 💻🌎🗿

A stable 30fps is always appreciated. I tried playing Jedi Fallen Order with a dynamic frame rate and was all over the place. Then swapped to lock 30fps with dynamic 4K and yeah controller response was way better. Horizon and Spider-Man all felt excellent at a lock 30.
People with mid range or old hardware should definitely consider playing at 30 and cranking settings/resolution up instead of trying in vain to hold 60 despite your game looking like a vaseline smudge.
This game is gorgeous and it NEEDS a high resolution to shine, the effects scale like shit with lower resolutions... so yeah, I recommend 30 FPS to most people that don't have 2080 Tis/3070 and up.

They forget to mention npc count is also higher on the x than ps4. The slowdowns are for higher res and more detail
Disabling some graphical settings improves the frame rate a lot. And I would rather have the same dynamic resolution but have the lower limit set at 1080p instead.
@@farisakhtar4824 dynamic resolution is great for balancing performance and quality until you’re rendering scenes at noticeably different resolutions. I personally find it much better if it’s less noticeable. They should keep the top and bottom within a certain degree. Maybe they should’ve at least used the PS4 Pro’s res target. It would have looked about the same, but I’m sure it would’ve been an almost perfect 30.
@@traceyates1506 its already noticeable when you're driving and in dense crowds. You don't drop from 1674p to 1224p without noticing. And anyway 1080p is not a bad resolution, at least not to me. It wasn't too long ago games were in 720p and looked good for their time. Frame rate over resolution so it can at least remain above 25fps.

It's pretty disgusting.
They are now accepting refund requests though. So its a come around. Thank god. Otherwise people would have definitely lost all trust. Even the PC requirements are not accurate. The recommended system which i have barely gives over 40 even on low-med preset.
I doubt 100% of people who are unhappy with their console versions will get a refund though. CDPR will probably make more profit this way than if they had warned everybody beforehand in a fair way.

It’s also possible that they were confident that the day 1 patch would fix all of these problems and they didn’t want to show off the game without the patch (clearly it did not fix the issues.) As a consumer you should wait until the day of release to make your decision to buy the game. I don’t understand why people pre order games. But if you are one of those people that wanted to play it at midnight on release day, you can always get a refund.

As a mid level pc player who has been getting solid performance with tweaks, this puts into perspective the outrage and the unfortunate state of many players.
People keep on bitching at me about how the version I'm playing (PS4 on the Pro) is not much better than the base console version when it usually goes between 25-30fps and rarely hits lower than what the guys in the video get. I just am like '. . . Fuck! What the hell, man! At least the version I'm playing is STABLE and runs decently well with fewer issues than the base console version!' Saying that the Pro/X1X/S is not much better than the PS4/X1when it comes to being able to play Cyberpunk is like saying The Dark Knight is not much better than Batman Begins or that Revenge of the Sith isn't much better than the rest of the Star Wars prequels.

My thoughts exactly. Also lower res for base consoles down to 720p. I will never understand the fixation deva have with resolution to the point of thinking 1800p 20fps is better than 1440p 30fps.
Almost everywhere you see a 20-ish fps experience the CPU is the problem, no point in going lower res, only CDPR can do something...
The thing is they’re not GPU limited per se. They’re CPU limited with how the game handle crowd, asset streaming, etc. In my opinion, the only way they can fix this is by increasing (I mean by huge amount) of asset duplication which can ease a little bit the bottleneck created by 5400rpm HDD. Of course this will result in a substantial increase of a game file size (we are talking COD like size here or even bigger). This is one of the problems when you make the games with an SSD-optimised in mind.
And to further ease the streaming system especially while driving fast within these high density city they need to at least double the amount of LODs per object which is also going to substantially increase the game file size which can ease both CPU decompression time and system RAM (GDDR).
All of these extra resource can be use to handle at least an acceptable amount of crowd present on a per scene basis. If you look at this game the crowd are very dynamic on their own which means this will hurt this weak CPU logic a lot. The way to solve this is to make the dumb-crowd system like in the early 2010-ish style games, where different NPCs move in pack with a noticeable sync-move set if that make sense. And makes only few of them move dynamically (AI like).

The game have near 50GB, even if they increased it 3 time, to something like 150GB but making the whole experience beter, i don't see any problem in that(The problem will be that the game will use way more space on the next gen machines until the proper next gen update arrives).
RDR2 have more than 100GB and it's not as beautifull on the base machines as it is on the Pro/X, but it is really playable, anyone would sacrifice Storage in benefit of a playable game.
That would make frame rate worse, the game already drops way below 1440p on One X when it struggles.
Imagine being a casual type of gamer who doesn’t visit gaming websites, doesn’t watch video game UA-cam content, and you just decided to pick this game up because you thought the marketing was awesome, or you heard about the hype randomly from someone at work.
That’s who I feel for. This is indefensible. Shame on CD Projekt Red. What a way to ruin your reputation.

He played on a base Xbox and was super happy, raved about how great the story is and how he was having a fantastic time. I asked him about glitches and bugs, and he said it was the same way with RDR2 so he figured it'd be fixed with updates and wasn't concerned.
I was surprised, a very different response to what I expected, and on top of it he was playing on the worst system.
Every time one of these comparison vids is posted I'm reminded of how Microsoft needs to overhaul their console naming strategy.

Finally got myself physical copy of Cyberpunk on PS4 Pro. I wanted to see 1.0 version and if it's really that bad. And it was indeed. Buggy as hell with messy graphics. I patched the game and really have to say that I'm quite impressed. Totally different game. Even the framerate feels stable now. Didn't expect that but I'm really enjoying the game.
Same, I saw the Xbox One version at GameStop for 10 bucks and was like "yeah this is worth it to laugh at the unpatched version."

Cyberpunk 2077 will most likely be handled exactly like The Witcher 3, which also had a buggy release. CD Projekt Red went on to fix the bugs and even implement some new features (includnig a secondary combat/movement/animation system), while also releasing plenty of free dlc both cosmetic and substantial, such as a couple short single-player quests and a very well implemented New Game Plus mode. Finally, they went on to develop and release two major expansions, and by the time they were done, everyone had forgotten about the buggy release and the Witcher 3 stood tall as one of the greatest games ever...

FYI ‘current gen’ is PS5 and Xbox Series (plus Switch). PS4 and Xbox One (plus Wii U) are now last gen. Now that PS3, 360 and Wii are 2 generations back they’re now retro consoles.

Its a shoddy release, the game is not launch ready, all defense of CDPR has to stop - both base consoles are running other openworld games with more going on and higher definition textures at a locked 30fps - GTA V for instance is packed with more traffic and npcs with longer draw distances, easily more demanding.
A quick google search shows just as many PC gamers with i9 cpu's and 3000 series GPU's running off NVMe suffering from just as many framerate issues, hitches and glitches.

Even though I have a One X I feel like the resolution should have been locked at 1080 to help with frame drops during gunfights and exploration in the city. The hotfix helped a lot with frame drops and crashes but I feel like they can do more

Umm, I just downloaded it today on PRO. 5 Hours of playtime, 0 crashes. Visuals? Looks good. Not like PC or PS5 but...DUH. Bugs? Only two that I really noticed. One, couldnt switch camera view in my car. Two, Jackie had no guns in his hands, when he clearly shud have.
FPS drops? MMM not really, i think a couple times in the car, one during a gun fight. All in all, I'm having fun, lots.
Yeah the pro version is doing well. Before the 1.04 patch I was getting a couple of frame drops here and there but now it's almost a solid 30 with some nice visuals.
Wish I could say the same about the base consoles though

That said, I believe OP has a very high tolerance for low framerates or just doesn't perceive drops very well because I'm getting lots of them. It feels very much like a ps360 era game in terms of framerate. Lots of bugs too. Janky animations, things falling through the world, many NPCs holding invisible objects etc etc. It's also really low res most of the time. Blurry as hell on a large 4k screen. That's my personal experience.

I'm guessing the issue in the alley is related to Vik's shop getting loaded into memory. Since it's a pretty detailed indoor area it's probably not a part of the "open world" to save on memory. So when you turn rapidly into that alley there is probably a trigger to load those assets, but some component in the old systems simply can't handle streaming the open world and loading "indoor" assets at the same time so the system just hangs or performance tanks.
CDPR should've been more transparent about the console performance.
They didn’t because people would have cancelled their pre orders and they wanted to grab their money before it came out how bad the game runs.

If the base PS4 can run game like The Last of Us Part 2, Red Dead Redemption 2, Ghost of Tsushima at a stable 1080p30fps, all of which have really gorgeous graphics, CDPR really don't have any excuse for their game running at 720p20fps on base PS4.
Cdpr make games for high end pc's and scales them down for consoles, that's the reason why. It still doesn't excuse the state of the game, but there you go...

Not necessarily. I'm finding the game incredibly enjoyable on XB1X, even with all the crashes that I had on day one until the second patch came out (still crashes occasionally, but much more rarely now).
Games in this genre that nail the aesthetic are so rare that even with the technical issues it's one of my favorite games in recent memory.
Maybe it's just me, but I've had a very exciting and enjoyable experience on the One X. No freezing or crashing. Minor bugs, but I'm none worth griping about

I'm so disappointed with the one x frame rate . I'd gladly take 1080p like series s with stable 30fps over higher resolution and janky fps .
On Series X you get a locked 30FPS mode at alot higher than 1080p, with significantly more settings (like denser crowds) or a near 60 FPS at 1080p. Honestly, it runs as well as you could hope for from a 450 pound console. I'm really enjoying it so far.
The Only time I've managed to make it consotantly Chug on Series X is Arasaka plaza, where there are HUGE crowds. and even then, only standing in one part of the plaza, looking in a certain direction.
They should patch it
Turn off all graphical settings apart from lens flare. Performance will increase a lot and the image will look significantly better.

I feel bad for anyone playing this on a base ps4/xbox. I have been very lucky since the game has been running near perfect on ps4 pro, but this cannot be acceptable. Game companies should simply not release an unfinished game
My friend was playing on Xbox One S and said there was no problem with the framerate. I grabbed the controller and tried playing it and holy shit, it was so choppy. I guess casuals can't really notice fps issues as much as enthusiasts do.

They wouldn't be able to do 60fps regardless and 35-60fps is choppy as hell. The best they could do is 1080p/30fps. Or maybe even 900p/30fps if 1080p wouldn't lock to 30fps. X1X is simply not powerful enough for 60fps at all.

Something I heard is that the graphic cards on both One X and Ps4 pro can't get to their 100% potential because of lack of CPU which Cyberpunk is very heavily relying on. considering both CPU's are wack...
So in short for people who want a TLDR : Xbox One X / PS4 Pro is the bare minimum needed for a fair playing experience, base consoles are total no-goes.
And even those occasionaly drop below 20 fps. A competent PC or the newest gen consoles would be the only viable options for me. If I wouldn't have had ons of those at this moment, I would wait for them either to fix it, or till I've bought a new console/competent pc
I've been playing it on base ps4, it's not exactly 100% smooth all the time but it's been fine for the most part.

I feel this game runs great on my ps4 pro, my only problem is the draw distance for some of the items but i hope some updates fix this.

PS5 is using the BC+ mode with preset profiles operating in PS4 Pro compatibility tier; the "+" part is the backwards compatibility flag that removes the 30fps cap and inserts an unlocked refresh towards 60hz target.
You will need to re-download pretty much the entire game package next year when the native PS5 version arrives. It's a delta code path -- it's NOT a patched up extension of the current BC+ version on PS5.
So what you see now on PS5 (and Series X) is basically a placeholder backwards compatible PS4 Pro version (and One X on Series X) with minor tweaks to compatibility flags.
Dynamic elements of the engine can benefit from the BC+ extensions in terms of harnessing superior clocks -- but those aren't optimal frequency profiles, they can't employ specific next-gen GPU features, they aren't parceling out full PS5 memory, and the excellent SSD/IO is strictly providing 'passive' perks based on raw sequ. speeds -- but doesn't use any of the specialized IO co-processors or unique caching.
There's much to exploit in the proper PS5/Series X versions coming next year. The backwards compatible versions you see now will be disappearing when the native code arrives.

Yea it's running really well on my One X surprisingly. I have film grain and chromatic aberration off. Runs solid with very few crashes for me
but it looks like Control and there are no NPCs, not mentioning that the gun shooting feels floaty and there are no upgrades worthwhile, it's always about the highest DPS possible.

There are plenty of NPCs in the One X, gun shooting is fine, guns have that oomph & actually feels like you're damaging the enemies, no worthwhile upgrades? Really? Because the stealth, netrunning, combat perks have significantly improved the experience & not really, so far, I'm sticking with only 1 handgun I got from Yorinobu penthouse, been upgrading it, haven't switch to any other handguns so no it's not always about highest dps.

The last gen cyberpunk version is like getting the switch port treatment from poor fps, muddy textures, to dynamic resolution. Unlike Switch though, they can't tout portability on the ps4/xbone.

@@adamrasmussen7379 This game was seems to have been designed to be futureproofed on PC. So, the last gen systems just cannot handle all of the detail the game throws at it. They would probably have remake it completely to make it run properly or gut it to the point where it is no longer the same game.
@@adamrasmussen7379 i think there is **some** optimization that can be done to make things perform better than low 20 fps (and mid-low10s) but overall the consoles have just reached their limit, there were games that were hitting that 30fps mark long ago and this is just beyond what these consoles can reasonably handle. running 2020s most demanding game on $300 7 year old hardware just isn't gonna reasonably happen no matter how much optimization goes into it. even though some games look really pretty good even for running that hardware what i think differentiates cyberpunk is for one thing the amount of detail in the world but mainly that there are just so so many lights, for the most part GPUs are just machines that calculate light, the more lights you have the more taxing it is

That's the difference between built for PlayStation exclusives and built for PC multiplatforms. RDR2 looks/plays good on my PS4 pro but that's just one boring game.

Got my refund today. Even in my series X it plays and looks like crap. May buy next year when everything its patched and for half the price. I lost all the hype after the 3 or 4 hours I played anyways, so might as well just pass on it. Will be waiting for the Witcher 3 path for the series X
