Eddie wants the family to take him camping.
A family of friendly monsters having misadventures and never quite understanding why people react to them so strangely.

One of my favorite late night shows. Fred Gwynne gave me so many laughs as a child. How can anyone not love that signature Herman laugh and smile?
Yoo Hoo I'm home !!
he is very good
@@tinman678 DARN DARN DARN DARN
Fred Gwynne really committed to playing the part of Herman Munster - a bumbling, goofy, cheerful, lighthearted monster. People have tried to emulate his performance in remakes over the years, but there is no comparison.
Herman was a good family man. Peace out.
"I guess we could put up with a few days of fresh air...for Eddie's sake." GOLD!
Munsters is one of the greatest TV shows in history.
Yes it is, i love the opening of The second season of The Munsters , the music on the second season is the best ever.
Munsters & I Love Lucy
Grandpa used to sit us down and we all would just watch it. Loved it
haaa had one season with very good ratings the next season in the toilet then canceled far from the greatest haa 2 season show
I agree with you 100%. I was born in 1978 and I grew up watching TV shows from the 60s. The Munsters is my absolute favorite of all. ❤❤ I love Yvonne de Carlo, Al Lewis & Fred Gwynne dearly. ❤❤
The humor on this show was so clever.
Yes!
The whole cast played so well WITH each other.
I haven't watched the Muensters in decades. But I realize now what a good actor Fred Gwynne was and what he brought to the part by giving the monster his childlike personality. He really did an outstanding job. Without him, this show would have never taken off.
yes & Yvonne De Carlo is beautiful as Lily
My mom watched the Addams Family more than Munsters. I've watched more Munsters than Addams Family. Of course I wasn't born yet when they were on tv in the 60s.
Al Lewis was an avid cycling fan.
One night, after I had an incredible night on the track, Al, along with his wife, and another couple, invited me to a late dinner with them.
It was wonderful. He talked about all the great races he saw at Madison Square Gardens, when he was a young man. Very nice man.
Watched has a child .can't remember if I laughed. I am now.
Not just child like but also authoritative when he needs to be. Especially with our gentle giant's voice being informed by one of Mr. Gwynne's aunts.
Always loved it when Grandpa says to Herman "you big dummy"😂
I get away with the same things daily.
I just love Lilies overcoat. So much thoughtful detail went into every aspect of the scene. It's more than just a script. Watch the body language of the other actors when one of them is speaking. They were so good because they reacted so realistically and naturally. The timing has to be perfect for it to go off flawlessly.
Actually dude, that is NOT an overcoat. Its a CLOAK!
My favorite part is when he goes fishing and pulls up that fully cooked chicken. LOL
And it's actually smoking even after being in the water‼️🐔🐠
The most absolute perfect actor to play Herman...Fred Gwynne.
Herman & Grandad are like Laurel and Hardy. 🇮🇪
@@briandavis3832 Al Lewis and Fred Gwynne worked together earlier in the old tv series Car 54, Where Are You?

Kevin Miller yes I know that another great show. I didn't get to see these shows on till the Late 70s early 80s we only had 3 channels on TV 📺 back then.
President Funny Valentine D4C I don't know y u ask me for I didn't do it ask my mummy she tell ya ok. Lol 🍏🍋🍐
I love The Munsters.Especially their car.Tony
I have a beautiful Model of The Munsters Koach , i always loved Lily and the second season of The Munsters, the opening of The Munsters is the best.
Grandpa's Dragula was THE BEST!!
what a wacky, goofy, and FUNNY show! it was always one of my favorites! :)
The best theme music in the history of television, period.
Love this show, always did!!🖤
They have beautiful family always looking out for each other why does people get so scared of them
A lesson for all families; sadly lacking in many TV shows today. The only problem with the Munsters is that they look so weird! But that is what makes the situations with the Munsters so funny.
If you know anything about the show, the writers were trying to teach a bit of a lesson but on the sly. This was the time period where neighborhoods were being integrated, mostly with black families. This series and the way people treat the Munster family is meant to draw a parallel with how non whites were treated in the mid 1960's. There is even one episode where the mailman and the next door neighbor are speaking and she says something along the line of she doesn't want to see any more of 'them' moving into the neighborhood. They ARE a nice family. They just look different is all!
The best tv comedy show,it we're so funny.
The Munsters has funny parts. My mom thinks I Love Lucy is better & funnier. There's funny parts in both shows.
This has always been my favorite tv show and still is today !!! Wish they would bring it back !!!
Who designed Lily's out fit?. It's fantastic.
They have in various iterations, but never had the charm and humor of the original.
The Munsters are on COZI
You can get the boxed set on DVD.
i always loved Lily The Munsters are on COZI
One of my fave shows, since 1966!! I think it and Green Acres are the most uniquely made sitcoms of all time!!!
Fun fact, Herman had to sit on the floor of the car, he didn’t fit if he had to use the seat.
Fun fact 2 Herman or Fred retired to thurmont MD 15 miles away from where I live in Taneytown MD it's something locals used to be proud of being he lived a town over
@@victorclabaugh1373 cool
He had a lot of things to wear for Herman Munster.
This is one of my favorites. Eddie acted so good. What a great American family.
His fishing cast always reminded me of my cousin fishing. He would always have these extremely long casts and mine seemed to go about 10ft and plunk right in front of me .
did he bring back a cooked fish?
Grandpa: "Herman, will you please stop pounding those stakes into the ground! You know it gives me heartburn!" Herman: "Sorry, Grandpa." Hilarious comedy!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I like the way Grandpa brings his prison surplus electric chair with him! 🤣
"Oh a camping we will go" and never scare our surrounding wilderness friends and "monstrously" nice family. Stay safe everyone!
Watching these episodes as a kid was my favorite. Now I'm showing them to my son and he can't get enough of them. 😄👍
I wish they still made shows like this.
I agree with you The Munsters was beautifully written . I have a beautiful Model of the Munsters Koach & a book about The Munsters that Yvonne and Butch Patrick did

Herman > Instead of moving the tent, he just moves the tree! 😂. Classic……
It was easier for him! LOL
Herman pounds a stake to set up the tent and Grandpa grabs his heart like Fred Sanford, ( Never pound stakes when I'm around you know it gives me heartburn) Classic! Lol!
" And some old man that looks like a warmed over zombie "
What a genius show. I’m 64 and watched this as a kid. It’s even funnier now.😂
I have the Munsters seasons 1&2 on DVD, always good to watch
I love the Munters! They are such a great family!
I love this show.
Too many memories.
To Fred, rest in peace..
A great family show that we will never see again.
That's because we will never see great families again. At least not as the norm or for the most part in OUR lifetime.
There car was awesome,Used to watch this all the time when I was 10 or 12 I am now 65 and it’s still funny especially Herman
One of my favorites growing up. ⚰️
It wasn't the UCLA debate team, It was the UC Berkeley debate team.
I can remember coming home from grade school and watching it. Awe. The good ole days.
I actually met All Lewis (Grandpa) in the 1990's, very nice guy.
Al Lewis owned a restaurant for many years in new York City called, Grandpa's.
You're lucky dude! Back around 1990/91 I actually went to his restaurant in Greenwich Village in New York City hoping to see him but he wasn't there that night! Man was I disappointed!
If asked as a kid I'd say we were more Addams family than Munsters fans but I'm loving these reruns.
I always favored The Munsters but The Addams Family had the best pinball game out there.
I read somewhere that the difference between the two families is that the Addams family were wealthy upper class American patricians in the country for generations. Gomez was a lawyer by profession after all. There are references in episodes where people like Uncle Fester allude to things being beneath the family dignity. Whereas the Munsters more represented immigrant blue collar families. Herman was 'made' in Germany and worked in a funeral parlor and both Grandpa and Lily were born in Transylvania. Which is why they always make reference to 'the old country' and try so hard to be the 'typical average American family' as Lily and Herman so often said.
I liked Adams family Both of the 🎥 movies,(Adams family Values/Adams Family),growing up but older I get more I enjoy the Goofy light hearted 😂 humor of the Munsters 🧟🧛🦹🚗more.
If the addams family can have an animated movie why not the Munsters?
Discrimination
Rob Zombie is making a movie for them
Rob Zombie is supposedly making a remake of the Munsters curious to see how that goes
@@clarencejones7916 sounds about as interesting as Tim burton trying to make a superman movie with Nicholas Cage as superman.
They did back in 1966. The film was titled "Munster Go Home"
When I get skunked on a fishing trip I laugh and say to myself I'm having chicken for dinner again tonight - Herman tosses a 1000 foot case and comes up with a roasted hen.. LOL !
Here after watching Rob Zombie's Reboot...
Glad to come back to the actual Munsters family
Munsters is a classic.
I. Love this. Tv. Show. The. Munsters.
Funny classic TVi have a DVD set to the show,I’d play it on Halloween,or anytime,I need a good laugh.
Vampire out in the forest during the day 😂 priceless 😁
Ha! Grampa brought his electric chair. No stinkin' folding lawn chairs for him!
Boy could I put up with a little fresh talent like that.
Hilarious. Glad I got to watch this show new. It is a beloved classic, and much loved.
Which Him in car 54 where are you it’s Hilarious
Love the show so simple and funny
Herman was just a big kid :)
Truely a great show that only lasted only 2 seasons! I liked The Munsters better than The Addams Family!
Such great memories watching this show with my sibs after school, never understood why it only lasted two seasons
No shows can equate to these after shool shows in the late 60s.
You can say that again!
The Munsters was a prime time show .
@@ChuckTaylor-ct6fq , 5 or 5:30 pm everyday after school.
It ran in the 8:30 or 9:00 time slot, right after or right before the Adams Family
@@ChuckTaylor-ct6fq I dont know if your on east coast. But, it was after school everyday.
Such an adorable show... and fun 😂
Herman for President!
We need this show to come back ❤ man I míos this
this is one of my favorite episodes
Herman munster doesn't always use common sense. However he is still funny. Though my favorite character is grandpa he always knew what to say or do during the right time.
OMG! I absolutely loved this show, when I was a kid. They should've made a full length film of this, like the Adams family.
They made a film munster go home
I guess they have a lot of hot springs hahaha 🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂 Loved this show then and still love it now !
Herman Munster is totally hilarious
All the parlor jokes really dig up good old memories.
What the heck would Herman carry in a brief case?
@@ClearedAsFiledit was his lunch bin; remember, he was the lead embalmer down at the funeral parlor where he worked.
The best dad in history!😁😁😆
That's Herman for ya'...
Iconic TV show 🦇🦇🦇🦇🦇@ age 57 stil a fan always 💯🎃👻🦇🦇🦇
I'm watching The Munsters for the first time at the moment and I love it! Also did anyone notice Eddie didn't have his pointy ears in his first scene of this episode?
Yes he did. Its just that the pointy part was somewhat obstructed by his hair when he talks to Herman. Look at around :32 when he runs into the room. You can see he has the pointed ears.
The big question is....did he ever get them dumplings?
Herman's hat is killer 💯
Not many roots on that tree for saying how tall it was. Wow freshly cooked fish and barbecued chicken
Love the Monsters, but grandpa in the sun 🌞 hehehe!
I don't find this show ha ha funny. But I enjoy the all comical chaos and the misadventures the encounter. Kind of wish they were my neighbors.
This is the best 😂😂❤❤
There goes law enforcement

I think the. Munsters aired. in 61. Or 63 I was 3. 4 yrs those were the days most flicks were great still are
Way better than the Adams family
Fred Gwyne a comedic genius!
Car 54 where are you?
Grandpa and Herman were on that show. Also funny
ah, the good old days! this show was as clever as any!
BETTER THAN ADDAMS FAM
My childhood program. I had a single mom who worked while we stayed home watching these programs. It’s how we learned what a home was. Good values. Our programs now are missing that. 🤦♀️
I really believe the new movie coming out will be good...
Thanks for sharing....
Lily Munster was my first crush when i was a kid. Gorgeous woman lol
LOL the fishing!!!!!!!!
Man Lilly was My Heat Throb long Live The 70s
Only this was made in the '60's!
If you like Lily that much, you HAVE to see the movie "The Captains Paradise" where she plays one of the captain's wives. The film was from 1953 and stars Alec Guinness.

I was reminded of when I did landscaping work in college and after carefully cutting out the sod and digging a monstrous hole and wrestling in a maple with a 200 pound root ball, placing and facing it exactly where the client wanted it and then his wife came out and asked us to move it six inches to the side. "No problem!" (I was getting paid by the hour).
Great comedy
