I was out driving one day and this piece came on the radio. I had to sit in my car until it was over so I could find out what it was. I immediately bought a recording.

THIS is the finest modern ragtime. Better than Wm. Bolcom, better than Carter Pann’s _Cheesegrater,_ far better than my meager attempts.
And what a performance! I can only imagine how many hours went into this.
Fun to see the handwriting in the score.

Had the privilege to hear the first two movements live. Such an incredible piece of work that I am constantly coming back to. Thank you for the transcription!

Very nice piece. I know Schoenf(i)eld mostly from his piano concerto released many years ago by Argo records if I'm not mistaken.

I seldom hear a recording or performance by a piano trio in which the violin is heard clearly rather than often being obscured by the piano and sometimes cello, also. I have no idea why performers and engineers do not address that. I realize that there is much interplay among the instruments here, and it is not a work for violin solo, but I believe the piece would be much more satisfying if the violin were more prominent on its rhythmic and melodious figures. (btw. I am not a violinist!)
A one-pound violin playing one note at a time vs. a 1,000 pound piano playing 4-6 notes at a time is a challenging problem to solve, but it must be adjusted to for the music to make sense. One instrument's fortissimo is closer to another instrument's mezzo-forte, especially with bass notes in the piano.

@@supasayajinsongoku4464 Exciting? The Walrus in Memoriam by Terry Riley. Very much in this style, with a hint of minimalism that creeps in as it goes on.
