Excellent video 🤙🏽 A couple of other tips for getting better at riding switch. -Start riding switch as soon as you get to the resort. Starting your normal way tends to make you not want to try riding switch. -Practice at the resort by yourself so you can focus and not get distracted by friends who just want to blast down the mountain fast. - **My biggest tip is to get off the chairlift switch when you get to the resort and once you get more comfortable riding switch. Get to the resort early and pick an easy lift to start on. This one will advance your switch skills for sure 🤙🏽 Great video!
Thanks for the tips! These are great! I haven’t tried riding the chairlift switch before, but I should. It makes sense that it would help. Seems like riding the chair switch would feel heavy on my right leg 😂
@@SnowboardPanda haha yeah It'll feel heavy and it'll also feel like you don't have a lot of strength in your leg when you try to move the board on the lift. You'll even feel a little discomfort near the inside of your knee after a few tries. Take breaks but keep riding the lift switch and you will be blown away at how fast your body adapts. Before you know it, you'll have the strength to move the board around like your normal side. Pick an easier chairlift first and one with less people and remember the basics as you're getting off. It's super satisfying when you do it and after that, riding switch feels so much easier for some reason. Don't forget to practice skating switch first before you head to the lift. You definitely have the skill 👍🏽
Hey thanks for the tips they really helped, just linked my first switch turns today after decades of avoiding even trying switch. It's like learning a whole new sport!
Nice! Practiced switch today, and I'm thinking I'm going to try and ride switch as much as I can for the rest of the season to finally get better at it. The tips are great and I'll use them for sure
Good work Ash! Like the length of the examples, the advice given is spot on. Accurate and concise and I like the fact you stuck to just three examples and not waffled. Hardly ever hear you umming or ahhing as you talk, so you come across very professionally and very clearly. Really really good job for someone starting out their own channel of help. Don't stop! Keep up the good work but with the same level of quality and you'll be bagging subscribers in no time!
Amazing tutorial Ash, I wish I had had this last year when I was starting to ride switch. I might not have eat it so much. And the bonus tips... spot on! I cant wait to see what you got for us next.
Your video is awesome. So well-detailed. I tried to switch by directly making turns. Your 3 steps seem way better to get confidence. Do you keep the same settings as regular when you switch? I heard it's easier if you set your board on duck.
Hey, thanks so much! It's definitely much much easier if your binding angles are more in the duck stance. Mine are usually around +12/-12 and I keep my angles like this all the time now. When first learning switch, it can be oddly difficult to get your head around and look over your new front shoulder, especially on toeside turns. If your new front foot (the foot that is usually your back foot) is set at a 0 or close to that, it just makes it that much more awkward.
Snowboard Panda nice! I run the same lense for my bluebird days on the flight decks. For low light I run high pink in line miners. I’ve just ordered clear lense and persimmon lenses for the line miners too. I throughly recommend the line miners in low light. The cylindrical lense really helps break the ghosting that happens...
Sorry for the bad lighting, guys! Will fix this in future videos! 🙌
Great video! Excellent advice! You had this rookie rider switched in little more than 30 minutes.
Thanks for watching, Ed!

Thanks! And good luck with practicing switch this season; it's definitely worth it!
Best way to learn how to ride switch for me was to teach somebody something about it made it come together for me.
Great tips, love the camera work

Great vid ash!!! How did the flight decks go in the low light?
Pretty good, but I didn’t switch to a low light lens. The one I have works fairly well in all conditions. But I might invest in one more soon.

Good lookin.
The music is a bit repetitive. Other than that great video and tips. Thank you.
