Guys you should also note that the Blade of Eternal Darkness is BiS and drops from Princess. I didn’t add this though because the drop chance is insanely low and I don’t recommend the grind! For the shoulder we're using Kentic Amice from BRD or Synethic Mantle if you have it. Otherwise use the emerald shoulders from the rep.

@@nippiS BiS. For SoD they added 20 Spell damage and the proc effect also scales. Its very good but a very low drop rate!

the shoulders "Rotgrip Mantle" are better than "Syntetic Mantle"

Hey! Nice video! I would like to point out two things.
1: You skipped over the shoulders when you were going over the gear.
2: You also benefit as a consume the Frost Power Elixir for FFB as well.

Yeah I noticed afterwards sorry, was a few mistakes in this video, just wanted to get it out quickly. I pinned a comment about the shoulders. Yeah also forgot to mention frost, was briefly over consumes but will be a more in depth guide once we know everything. Thanks for your comment man I appreciate you!
Yeah I thought Frostfire Bolt Mages with a mix of Frost for Winter's chill debuff & Fire for imp Scorch debuff buffing each other's damage was gonna be the meta.
Maybe it's still not bad.
for number 2, you take from your highest spell power, so likely only from fire dmg
It would give them an extra 5% crit.
Idk what the number is. Maybe if you have like 7 or 8+ or FFBing Fire Mages you have 1 go Frost and that's when it becomes worth bringing Winter's Chill.
hey Seano thanks for the guide and the rotation explanation but i think you missed some important stuff in the gear section. Updated main hand from TInkerer boss in maraudon 'Inventor's Focal sword' (1crit +11 sp).The oh from the mage quest with 21sp .Trincket from the wild offerings (1crit 1hit) and Earth Warder's Gloves from Winterfall activity quest (+22 sp).
now that balefire properly works, can it possibly work? Maybe even as an arcane build, 31/10/0?
Basically a rotation of 2 arcane blasts and 1 balefire bolt. Maybe go more than 2 arcane blasts if you get a clearcast. use missile barrage at 0 stacks after casting balefire. a fire mage in the grp will be applying scorch buff.
Hi mate, I’ve added a balefire update video for fire, with arcane there is so much to work out I couldn’t really comment. It’s something you’d have to test in the raid. My initial thoughts would be to 3x AB into BFB but in any spec you use BFB is only good for short fights so right now that’s only 1-2 bosses. Thanks
No greater firepower recipe listed yet to buy but might just farm my own tonight. Have enough firebloom and fire oil for 200 potions so hoping to get made and listed tonight.
Already made and sold 75 runecloth bags and 25 soul pouches for a good profit.

Question for you. Do you think going FFB with deep fire talents and just taking cold snap instead of combustion would be more dps?
I don’t believe so, combustion is too good. That said if you want to double icy veins then just go frost with winters chill :)
I have the complete Emerald Enchanted gear set, but also all of the irradiated stuff from gnomer. Would you recommend Irradiated Robe, and boots with dreamweave gloves and emerald pants, or do you think i should just equip the Emerald Enchanted Gear set for the bonus?
Irradiated sims higher that’s all I can say, you might struggle with low stamina on some bosses though
have you considered taking Cold Snap instead of Combustion, for b2b Icy Veins? Or is stacking Combustion on top of Icy Veins just too good?
Combustion is really good because of the big ignites
greater fp elixir isnt availble until p4 60 right? and brilliant wizard oil also is locked behind z'g rep so that could also take a bit ^^
Profs are uncapped so its possible to get greater FP, the recipe is dropped in Searing gorge. Yeah the normal Wizard oil might be the play instead!
The recipe can be dropped in SG yeah but is not unlocked until AQ comes out I think.
Sorry if it's been asked but if I have the hyperconductive set is it worth swapping it out for the emerald set?
Yes - Emerald chest and legs are better, for boots the hyperconductive is slightly better than emerald

Why would you go for cindercloth back instead of sunborne cape? , 1st got 13 dmg done by spells and the 2nd got 17
For the int because of the long fights, if you think you don’t need the int then go ahead :)
@@SeanoHereI’d argue Spritecaster is the best pre-raid cloak, 4 less int than Cinder but +1 spell dam (and it’s dmg/healing to all spells instead of just fire dmg), +4 stam, and +5 spirit.
Does elixir of Greater Firepower, Greater Arcane Elixir and frost power elixir stack or do they overwrite each other?
They will stack
why would we wear any spell hit when elemental precision gives 6%? arent the bosses only 2 levels higher than us?
We may overcap hit but they’re still the prebis items

I was kinda hyped for the Frostfirebolt Meta with a mix of Frost specced for the Winters Chill debuff & Fire for imp Scorch debuff both buffing each other's Frostfire bolts.
Would of been a less engaging rotation without Hot Streak but the idea of it was cool.
If only they could run Frostfire bolt AND Hot Streak.
If you have a tonne of mages then one going Frost for Winters Chill will help the whole raid but yeah Fire DPS is alot higher than Frost
It would only help them if they are using Frostfire Bolt.

Hello, I'm Wower who is playing on a Korean server.
I farmed a Dark iron Dwarps for about 3 hours to get the recipe of Elixir of Greater Firepower.
But The recipe didn't come out and drop.
Is it not implemented in Phase 3?
We haven’t had any official confirmation but it looks like it’s not enabled, there’s a few recipes that aren’t in this phase, it’s really odd considering how far ahead melee DPS are, wouldn’t be so bad to have these elixirs in..
balefire bolt is proccing ignites for me at least as of like 8 hours ago

It’s good enough, there’s better options although the head is very good. But if it’s all you have then it’s more than fine to begin raiding with for sure!

set from gnom with that chance on hit u get 40 spell damage and it does proc alot!
If you have it then use it, it’s less DPS than Irridated but it’s more than good enough for pre raid. These new raid tokens are dropping so much we’ll replace it fast :)
An what about Pyroblast? We have to use it too when it Proccs?
No, since we’re taking frostfire bolt we won’t have hot streaks
does icy veins and tailoring helm haste stack?
The tailoring head provides spell damage and mana reduction. If you mean the new tailoring shoulders then they do stack yes

You run the same talents for balefire for fire, unless you’re talking about arcane? There’s a lot to figure out with arcane. Even with the changes FFB is looking better for now until fights are alot shorter

My Balefire bolt has been working the whole time weird..idk if it will be higher than Frostfire spam
It was 100% bugged at one point, I’m hearing it’s been fixed but FFB is still being used because of fight lengths / mana.

There’s no way living flame isn’t better? you get six living flames for one icy veins which is like 6000 damage without crits/buffs/cd’s so icy veins needs you to get like 7 extra frost fire bolts off within the 20 seconds of veins which isn’t possibly PLUS u prob will have to break ur casts to do mechanics
The change to living flame just makes it trash honestly, in every simulation icy veins come out on top, their might be niche scenarios where LV is better but for the most part IV is the way to go, no BS
@@SeanoHere i mean really? with no crits you need 20 seconds of veins to add like 5-6 more casts at least to compete unless i have something wrong. and 6 casts doesn't seem possible especially if ur moving around due to mechanics. (also i loved the videos definitely helped me alot besides this one point XD)

You can get a mage OH from the rune quest which gives a huge amount of SP. The hit from staff isn’t needed so I’d recommend using a blade. I haven’t been lucky so I’m still using the blade from BFD

Not getting pyro and blast wave and ensuring you get child snap for 2x icy veins has to be the play too right
You’d have to lose combustion to get cold snap, so far that hasn’t proved worth it but could change in the future
Mage is good now because these sims are basically P2 ones, we're all still in our P2 BiS, lets see when a few tier sets drop and all classes have their runes.
True, I don’t expect Mage to be top on DPS but from what I’ve seen they’ll be fine and I’m looking forward to it
@@SeanoHere Very disappointing about Balefire if it's working as intended.
The reason they're stacking mages is for prog leveling groups - not because they're the best for the raid.

I think so, but it was on the list for phase 3 so wasn’t sure if it ended up as a recipe from ST or something but that’s why I said Wizard oil if you can’t get brilliant one :)
@@SeanoHerecan’t get that too. You get that recipe from a vendor in Silithus and that vendor isn’t in the game yet. We have to use the oil we used in gnome still.

Yea def pick it up but we’re not using it right now, even though it’s fixed the fights are too long for it to be used. As a general rule if a fight is less than 90 seconds use balefire bolt instead of molten armor
It feels so wrong to hear we dont play with the crit, crit, pyroblast anymore.. we have so much crit right now with the Molten armor, gear and buffs... sometimes I just cant the free cast fast enough because in aoe pull the bombs just crit everything away and it proccs to fast :D they need to it stackable haha
( I didnt tried it the new routine, with the runes - will try today)
Yeah I know what you mean but the changes to FFB and the crit modifier is huge it’s just too good. In the perfect scenario FFB and Hot streak would be on separate runes but then we might be too OP

No but it increases DPS more than pyro / blastwave if you're scorching. if you have another mage Scorcihing then you dont need

You do - Maintain 5x Scorch, Maintain LB and then cast FFB

I've got an update video for BiS lists etc coming soon but basically green fire damage belt is BiS but they're very expensive to buy atm, AB belt is best outside of those boe's

@@docteursnow7237 This information is slightly out of date, I've done some extensive testing on gear and I have a new video coming up today. Arathi belt is better than wild offering belt, we dont need hit as we get it from talents.

Why Incinerate instead of flame throwing?
Unless you have a mage scorching for you then incinerate will provide more DPS for those scorches, it’d be better to drop pyro & blast wave for flame throwing if you’re scorching
Im pretty sure the reason that their comp is 90% mages is just because mages are the fastest leveler and they expected the fights to be piss easy, therefore building a good comp dosn't really matter

@@jc502 Yes, but the top sweaty groups going for world first did not know this, most of them did dungeon grinding from 40 - 50 and these are the chars they prepared to speed level from 40 - 50

Mage is good but other classes are better. They stacked mages only because it's the fastest class to level up when you want to rush the content.
Yeah other classes are doing more DPS. The levelling wasn't the only reason though, trash mobs had more HP than anything inside MC, I think its awesome that teams downed it stacking mages :)

They're not "stacking" mages. It's just the fastest to cap. Come on dude.
This specific comp is class stacking, mage is the fastest to level yeah but this was being run today and majority of casual players are 50 let alone good ones, they could’ve had any comp they wanted!

Yes agreed, I’m talking about right now and the meta will definitely shift, especially if there’s further nerfs but it’s the first time we’ve seen effective class stacking in SoD, I’m happy with the state of mage!
@@SeanoHere Mage will be good, but stacking mages isn't the meta. This isn't the meta. It was just what ppl took to race with. You'll have a balanced comp, even if THIS was the case they would just nerf the shit out of whatever was "stacked" to this degree.
What you're seeing on logs now are generally what was used to get a first clear in. You are starting just now today to see more diverse comps. This isn't class stacking due to mage being overly good in ST, its due to them running a train on ZF and having lower gear requirements in a raid when you run in it with whatever you dinged with. Many of them didn't even have new runs. Again.. come on dude.. They're doing like 500-700 dps. We know every class is going to do more than that. So this isn't the meta, it wont even look close to this.

I’m not the doubting the fact that mages are extremely doing well, but we must keep in mind that the sample size for people who have cleared the Raid basically nil, so we cannot actually make a comparison to other classes yet
Very true, I’m just very happy that a comp of 12 mages can clear, first time we’ve seen class stacking be successful really. I believe mages will end up at the top of the middle by the end of the phase

Its been fixed since although the fights are quite long so the general rule is: if the fight is less than 90seconds use balefire bolt, if its longer than 90 then use molten armor and FFB!
mage armour>molten armour for fights longer than 90 seconds. the rune is just considerably useless
