I assume BFB procs with arcane talents, arcane sub and arcane focus when mobs are more suseptable to arcane spells. I also like Clearcasting....so ill stick with BFB in raids.

Yeah I would LOVE for FFB and hot streaks to be on separate rune slots. Maybe they should add a flex slot where you can put any tune you like on, would be awesome!
I use FFB with a 0/10/31 build, so a frost build. The thought is that whatever I may lose in DPS our fire mage with FFB will gain and I think that people are sleeping a bit on frost. Since most gear is spell power rather than elemental damage I'm wondering if its worth having ice lance in my rotation or if I should stick with living bomb - in boss fights that is.
Living bomb mate, the frost 0/10/31 build isn’t too bad but you wouldn’t wanna waste FoF procs on ice lance when you can do mega huge FFB’s :) I think you’re right though it is slept on / secret tech. I have a frost mage guide in the works ;)
Thanks, for sims use cheesehyvel for SoD. Right now don't go for hit, you're capped from talents so its a wasted stat. The best values I've found are: 1% crit = 9 SP = 56.25 int. Thanks

@@mixalisanagnostou5441 no, since these bosses are +2 you only need 5% to cap. You get 6% from talents and FFB actually double dips from that so we're way over hit cap from talents alone :)
Dude day they fixed balefire I was still using frostfire bolt and was hardly critting whilst the day before in ST I was critting nonstop did they shadow nerf frost fire while fixing balefire bolt??
Yeah, if you have a frost mage then FFB is best/safe. To min max in a very short fight or perfect scenario then BFB is better, popping combustion and icy veins at stack 4 and the boss dying at stack 9. I can only see BFB worth it for boss 1 at the moment.
FFB will go for the highest spell damage, it won’t double dip. That said having frost power will increase cone of cold and deep freeze, it has a lot more value as a frost mage
New raid is fun but damn is it expensive on pots, about 50g on my server for a raid. Playing Mage seems less about how to do your rotation, ABC etc.. and literally managing your consumables which is really annoying since you kind of disengage with the encounters and are just focused on when to hit that next mana source.
Hi mate, its hard to say without knowing your current gear. You basically want to get the biggest upgrade. That said Atal'ai Blood Ritual Charm and Drakestone of the Blood Prophet are very good choices.

Same old, not much has changed although recently I healed a dungeon using my fire spec with a combination of arcane blast + balefire bolt and it was totally possible. Pretty funny

The average duration of fights is hovering about 4:30-5:00 aside from first boss which is 2:00. FFB smokes balefire.
First boss you can smoke in 1min, I’ll test BFB in there later, rest I’d use FFB for now

Yeah I have a few ideas for it but the sims don’t support that at the moment so it’s impossible to say. We’d have to raid test it at some point

Yeah I agree, consumes are so expensive at the moment. Hopefully in time the prices will come down!

Balefire is insane on Morphaz, unless you're LoSing the damage phase.

Yes - unless you can get hold of a +26 fire damage green belt, that sims higher
casters seem to be falling really behind right now. melee are doing 30-50% more damage especially on single target encounters.
Yeah but mechanics are also ranged friendly, for the average player/guild mage can still top the meters if played well
