I don't know what to say anymore about the things Disney makes. Everything that can be said has been said. Marvel is collapsing under its own weight and utter incompetence. The Marvels wouldn't even exist in a better universe. Kamala Khan wouldn't exist because she was literally created as a woke Mary Sue character in 2015 for a talentless political pawn working at Marvel Comics born to a super-rich family with connections to the Obamas and Clintons, Sana Amanat. And in a better universe, Carol Danvers would either not exist at all or still be Ms. Marvel with the red sash, as she was actually cool, feminine, sexy, and heroic back then in the 90s and 2000s. No, in a better universe, we'd be getting a lore-accurate X-Men, an excellent Fantastic Four movie, and the 10th excellent Spider-Man movie to go with an excellent Spider-Man video game sequel.

Predictable plot ✅ Bunch of misfit heroes forced to unite need to resolve their differences and learn to work together to save the world... How many superhero movies have the exact same premise? 20? 30? Don't forget the obligatory sacrifice... Bad humor ✅ Using Nick Fury as comic relief is not what fans want more of or asked for. They made one of the coolest, most badass characters in the MCU take a back seat and just make him throw around stupid comments that weren't even funny. You will notice how unfunny it gets if you watch a second time. They also keep repeating the same formulaic humor of putting some bad joke to diffuse any tension or drama, for example: Kamala's parents' house gets destroyed after aliens try to kill the family, but the movie asks us not to take the killing attempt seriously by inserting humor. The family, therefore, never seems to be at any real danger. It should be something dramatic, painful, scary, traumatic, sad with probably someone seriously hurt that makes them upset, worry, angry. It should create conflict between Kamala and her parents,... But nope, Disney doesn't want any darkness or take anything remotely serious... everything has to be a joke and inconsequential. Boring one-dimensional characters ✅ There is no real personal conflict in this movie for any of the characters. One of the main aspects of a good superhero movie is the hero struggling with some inner conflict or flaw that they need to resolve to grow and become a better hero and make things better. There is none of that here. Kamala is just happy to be working with Carol as she is a fan, but she never stops putting her on a pedestal. She keeps thinking she is amazing and flawless from beginning to end, and she is just happy to be her new "sis." There is a brief moment which hints that Carol could be not as perfect as Kamala thinks when she is letting people die because they obviously can't save all, but it's never fully explored, as it's resolved immediately with a hug. No personal character arc ✅ Kamala somehow is already good at martial arts and fighting, without having any training whatsoever... And no just because you get a bracelet that gives you magical powers doesn't mean you suddenly become an expert acrobatic fighter. She has no real internal conflict; she wants to be Carol's partner, and somehow she is already ready for universe-level stakes, despite her inexperience... She risks nothing; she is never under any real threat; she never questions herself whether she should be doing this hero thing or not? She never seems to lack confidence, bravery, or anything... She never wonders if her family is more important or if this hero life is harder than she imagined. She just gets the work done with her partners and goes home ready to seek the next adventure. I bet it's just so much fun being a hero, isn't it? It's almost like playing basketball as a hobby after school, right? Real heroes don't do the hero thing for fun; they do it out of a sense of responsibility and know damn well it's a huge sacrifice and a painful experience that can put everyone they love at risk, not just themselves. But we get none of that with Kamala, other than her parent's house being destroyed, which is resolved as "whoopsie, hehe, didn't mean to, ok byeeee!” Forgettable villain ✅ One trailer they released a week before the release tried to sell this as Thanos’s daughter or follower, who was gonna get his job done. This is false advertisement. She's just mad at Carol for destroying her world and wants to steal resources from the world Carol cares about to rebuild her own world. Every time she is on screen, she is never really much of a threat to the main characters; they kick her ass constantly, and the third act battle is won so easily. She never does any real damage to the main characters... sure, some Skrulls that one cares about or knows die because they can’t save them, but you are not really invested in their deaths because they are extras in the movie, not real characters we care for their survival. I struggle to remember her name without looking it up. This might be the lamest villain in the entire MCU, no kidding… Ridiculous cats eating innocent people "to save them"?? ✅ There is a scene where some cats start eating innocent people because there is apparently no other way to save them from an upcoming explosion in the space station that they have to escape from. You would wonder what makes Nick Fury and the heroines think that a weird bunch of dangerous cats eating a person (against their will) somehow is a good idea to save them, why would they think the cat will then vomit those people without any harm? Why would they even still be alive after they ate and digested them? Why would they think those people won't need therapy after that? Why does Marvel Studios, Disney, and Kevin Feige think that going from ants defeating the main bad guy of the multiverse saga to cats eating innocent people is somehow a winning strategy that will make people hyped for the MCU's future? I suppose they just wanted people to not ask questions and consume the next product, which brings me to the: Post-credit scene ✅ You had Beast from the original Fox X-men and María Rambeau from another universe as Binary... In theory, one should get excited, but then again, you can't help but think, why should I get excited after watching this movie? They'll probably Disneyfy them, make the X-men a total unfunny joke or parody, where maybe a bunch of teddy bears defeat Magneto who will probably act like a clown as comic relief, and with no permanent consequences to any character and no character arcs whatsoever other than "I'm already perfect and I need to remember/recognize that to show how amazing I always was." It's the kind of movie that no one will talk about or remember two weeks from now because it feels like a filler episode of a "Disney channel" series. There are TikTok videos far more satisfying than this. On the positive side: They improved Carol’s personality, and she seems more likable now, and I guess Kamala steals the show by being overexcited to be there, but that’s to the detriment of the movie because her vibe is just too playful and childish, making the movie feel like a thing to laugh at than to take seriously. It’s a movie meant for people who like McDonald’s food and eating the same shitty Big Mac over and over and over... If you expect a memorable restaurant experience, this is not it.
I'm not one of the individuals who are suffering from 'superhero fatigue', but I am suffering from poorly written movies that make no sense. I'd even consider myself a Snyder fan, ever since the release of Sucker Punch, 300, Watchmen, and then into the DCEU (which fell apart from corporate interference). Please, just a well written movie with a superhero is all I ask for
To be fair, Sucker Punch wasn't really a movie as much of a collection of interesting looking music videos loosely connected by a whatever story. Unfortunately superhero movies have been infected with the parasite that has been eating away at superhero comics for a decade: extremists left-wing activists masquerading as creatives.

Kamala's parents' house gets destroyed after aliens try to kill the family, but the movie asks us not to take the killing attempt seriously by inserting humor.
Boring one-dimensional characters ✅
There is no real personal conflict in this movie for any of the characters.
No personal character arc ✅
Kamala somehow is already good at martial arts and fighting, without having any training whatsoever...
But we get none of that with Kamala, other than her parent's house being destroyed, which is resolved as "whoopsie, hehe, didn't mean to, ok byeeee!”
Forgettable villain ✅
One trailer they released a week before the release tried to sell this as Thanos’s daughter or follower, who was gonna get his job done.
This might be the lamest villain in the entire MCU, no kidding…
Ridiculous cats eating innocent people "to save them"?? ✅
There is a scene where some cats start eating innocent people because there is apparently no other way to save them from an upcoming explosion in the space station that they have to escape from.
I suppose they just wanted people to not ask questions and consume the next product, which brings me to the:
Post-credit scene ✅
You had Beast from the original Fox X-men and María Rambeau from another universe as Binary... In theory, one should get excited, but then again, you can't help but think, why should I get excited after watching this movie?
They'll probably Disneyfy them, make the X-men a total unfunny joke or parody, where maybe a bunch of teddy bears defeat Magneto who will probably act like a clown as comic relief, and with no permanent consequences to any character and no character arcs whatsoever other than "I'm already perfect and I need to remember/recognize that to show how amazing I always was."
It's the kind of movie that no one will talk about or remember two weeks from now because it feels like a filler episode of a "Disney channel" series. There are TikTok videos far more satisfying than this.
On the positive side:
They improved Carol’s personality, and she seems more likable now, and I guess Kamala steals the show by being overexcited to be there, but that’s to the detriment of the movie because her vibe is just too playful and childish, making the movie feel like a thing to laugh at than to take seriously.
The DCEU didn't fall apart from corporate interference. Snyder broke it right from the beginning. He had no idea what the hell he was doing.
@@fattiger6957 I agree with your assessment of Sucker Punch, but it was also nice to look at...
@@chrisbackhouse5730 Yeah, it was cool looking and had some nice music. May even be a better experience if you could just watch those sequences and cut out the framing narrative in the asylum or whatever.
I agree with critical drinker,, I was dancing with joy! 😂
273 million dollars....when will Disney learn how bad they've hurt the industry?
I feel like we're witnessing the origin story of a deepfake-themed supervillain. Probably the archnemesis of the Crimson Disavower.
We should really give credit where credit is due! This has more to do with Disney than it does Marvel, despite who owns them.
I bet The Drinker will cover this one day in his "production hell" segment😈
*Kevin Feige:* Divert all Disney resources to our Reality Distortion Department. We must relocate the Marvel Business Unit to that universe. 😅
notice how the mother shields the cowering father?
Steven Spielberg mumbling was a hilarious touch lmao
Thoroughly, wrecked.
I lost it at Nerdotic's "review" XDDDDDDD
The "Drinker" A.I. sounded a LOT more like an A.I. version of Cumberbatch, maybe... def NOT the Scottish Brogue of our man Drinker..... Lol
No Redlettermedia??!!?
There are 'B' movies with more heart than whatever this was.
I wish Disney would have to sell off Star Wars and Marvel to someone else, so they can no longer ruin it for everyone.
The beginning of this video is a master class in comedy
Funny AI voice section. Good job!
The universe if The Marvels was good was a great gag very well made haha
