yesterday I watched "Smokey and the Bandit" for the first time and it was a fun little movie with good pacing and likable characters. Today I watched "Smokey and the Bandit 2" and it was an annoying, useless, dumb, unnecessary sequel with a main character that for some reason has a completely different unlikable personality. The Marvels is going to be just like that, except that Disney needs to turn this into a decade-lasting franchise. Good luck...

Captain Marvel, Rambo, and Kamala either already had their powers or had randomly been given them. I skimmed some of the shows and it seems like they all automatically know how to use their powers with little trials or tribulations. At least Captain America, Iron Man, and Hulk had weaknesses and struggles they had to go through before they became hero's we can understand and sympathize with.
It's interesting how Tony Stark who invented and understands the nature of his suits abilities took more time learning how to effectively use them than people gifted powers beyond their understanding by forces that are effectively magic.

The last marvel film I watched was Wakanda Forever and the comparison between it and the first film were like night and day. The fun had been sucked out entirely. Chadwick Boseman would be ashamed to see what became of his legacy.

I feel this very strange sense of disconnect. Disney desperately wants the movie to succeed. Its director wants it to succeed. Various [loud] people want to see what the heroines represent succeed, and probably would enjoy watching the story in which they (inevitably) succeed against the largely out-of-left field villain that the movie is likely to try and fail to poise as a legitimate threat. But very, very little of its potential audience feels anything more positive towards its success, on any of those levels, than apathy. And thus it will almost certainly fail.
Disney should have turned Secret Invasion into an Avengers movie and started tying in all the new characters. By the time the next the next Avengers movie will come out, it will have been 6 years.
I watched all the movies from the MCU up to Endgame without any heistation. After that my hyped began to die down , as each new project I did watch gave me little incentive to watch the next. The Eternals was a straight up chore to watch. The last movie I watched was Doctor Strange Multiverse of madness. I have skipped everything after that, both shows and movies. I could watched a 100 movies of super heroes with any issue if the quality was there. It's not the genre or setting that killed it for me as most marvel movies operate under a wide variety of subgenres(Heist, horror, sci fi,..etc). It was the massive drop off in quality and social messaging being shoved down my throated constantly that reached the point of being insufferable that did it in for me. This all feels directionless and pointless. I'd rather just remember the parts of things I liked in both Marvel and Star Wars than continue watching them drag the corpses of properties they no longer see fit to portray in earnest.
Movie drops I think on the 11th and on the 7th the people that saw the pre-screening are allowed to talk about it and the pre-screening is a showing of the movie that isn't for the general audience but some people got to see it anyway. When these things are usually deployed it means that they are trying to stop spoilers or in some cases keep the word of mouth from getting out until right before the movie gets shown.

Disney has enough money to throw around to get a 90%+ rating on rottentomatoes. Just look at the their latest D+ shows like Ahsoka.

This review will be seen by more people than the movie itself.
I feel this very strange sense of disconnect. Disney desperately wants the movie to succeed. Its director wants it to succeed. Various [loud] people want to see what the heroines represent succeed, and probably would enjoy watching the story in which they (inevitably) succeed against the largely out-of-left field villain that the movie is likely to try and fail to poise as a legitimate threat. But very, very little of its potential audience feels anything more positive towards its success, on any of those levels, than apathy. And thus it will almost certainly fail.
Never have seen a single Marvel movie.........yaaaaaaaay, happy me.

I watched all the movies from the MCU up to Endgame without any heistation. After that my hyped began to die down , as each new project I did watch gave me little incentive to watch the next. The Eternals was a straight up chore to watch. The last movie I watched was Doctor Strange Multiverse of madness. I have skipped everything after that, both shows and movies. I could watched a 100 movies of super heroes with any issue if the quality was there. It's not the genre or setting that killed it for me as most marvel movies operate under a wide variety of subgenres(Heist, horror, sci fi,..etc). It was the massive drop off in quality and social messaging being shoved down my throated constantly that reached the point of being insufferable that did it in for me. This all feels directionless and pointless. I'd rather just remember the parts of things I liked in both Marvel and Star Wars than continue watching them drag the corpses of properties they no longer see fit to portray in earnest.
I dont think people realise, before Black Pander and Cpt Karen, Marvel movies were almost a guaranteed good time free of woke sharia law.

Movie drops I think on the 11th and on the 7th the people that saw the pre-screening are allowed to talk about it and the pre-screening is a showing of the movie that isn't for the general audience but some people got to see it anyway. When these things are usually deployed it means that they are trying to stop spoilers or in some cases keep the word of mouth from getting out until right before the movie gets shown.

All I know is that I heard a rumor that this starts the misadventures of the miss avengers and if that rumor is true then this is going to bomb so hard it causes a crater. The characters of the Miss avengers are not even tropes themselves.
Well me and wife saw it last night and rather enjoyed it.
Its not great cinema - but it is a good flick and rather enjoyable.
