    The harmonies injected in the Searchers version are pleasant, but Jackies presentation here of her gem from the 60s is stellar. The fast tempo and staccato singing style suggest an adrenalined heartbeat. The dramatic pause before each when you walk in the room feels like a skipped heartbeat or two. Her charismatically sexy but never vulgar body language completely support the lyrics.
    A class act by a classy lady.

    Thumbs up for an Italian 53 year old from Rome listening to this, with nonchelance, in November 2019.

      @Robert Johnston Thankyou. Just for your advice. It's nice to correct a spelling mistake yet at the same time it's sort of naive and infantile using caps. But, thankyou all the same :)

    • @lorenzonotarianni1667
      @lorenzonotarianni1667 4 роки тому +1

      @Robert Johnston LOL. You seem to have taken serious offence such as I DID NOT with you correcting me Sir in the first place. You MAY want to learn something ( as YOU pointed out being a lecturer ) the POWER of netiquette and EMPATHY. You don't KNOW me yet felt COMPELLED to publicly correct me where OTHERS that DID give me a thumbs up just let the thing pass probably taking into benevolent consideration me being Italian.
      I am certainly NOT your student nor would I dream of attending a lecture by someone with such an attitude Sir.
      Ps. Yes. I left the incorrect spelling of benevolant. It might feed your ego to correct me further.

      @Robert Johnston You MAY want to qualify your job position so I am CERTAIN I do NOT have a juvenile nerd sitting in his underpants and acting like the proverbial keyboard warriors so ofren referred to in social forums. Once I have your supposed job position and QUALIFICATIONS (SEEING AS YOU REFER say you are doing YOUR Job). I am doing MINE which is that of exercising MY RIGHT to FREE expression in the BEST way I AM CAPABLE and FREE from wannabe lecturers OR, and refering to social forum neologisms, Grammar Nazi.

      @Robert Johnston ONE LAST LECTURE FOR YOU BOY.
      LESS IS MORE. IT'S AN ENGLISH APHORISM THAT THIS ITALIAN LIKES A LOT.
      OOPS WOULD ONE BELIEVE IT ? ONE HAS LEFT THE MICROPHONE ON.
      Good bye Lecturer boy.

    • @lorenzonotarianni1667
      @lorenzonotarianni1667 4 роки тому +1

      @Robert Johnston I'm rather shocked at your stream of abusive and presumptious aggressivity. Now, you being a lecturer as YOU say and being older and wiser as YOU say can you please share how in Gods name could I have KNOWN your age ? Please enpower me on that key aspect of this JUVENILE TIT FOR TAT. If I use your inefficient rationale then HOW IN GODS NAME do you know if I am EVEN OLDER than you ?
      Please just STOP before you make a fool of yourself. What in LESS IS MORE can you not decipher ?
      I OFTEN READ HOW YOUR FELLOW ENGLISH MOTHER TONGUE youtubers spell atrociously but I never feel the need to correct AS YOU POINTED OUT YOU TAKE UPON YOURSELF AS A MISSION. THAT IS AGGRESSIVE, PRESUMPTIOUS AND BELLIGERANTalong with being disproportionally inappropriate.
      Your attidude can work on those that allow themselves to be abused by a self proclaimed lecturer suffering from a sanctimonious attitude of correcting people. You chose the wrong person to do that with. I WILL NOT BE your pretext to feel listened to as a form of a long awaited reparation for an anonimous life you must be subject to.

    Art is a very interesting thing. This vid reinforces the idea that the very best practitioners are a rare breed, and it comes naturally and effortlessly to such artists. You can't study, emulate, or practice your way to real ability. This explains why most entertainers are so painfully not up to the task. Just try listening to what passes for singing these days...

    Still sounds great after 50 years....Jackie was my favourite female singer when I was a teenager living in the UK. She looked really beautiful here and no doubt the years will have been kind to her....still a beautiful lady...thanks for the memories Jackie. Barrie in Spain

    My ALL-TIME favorite song! I've been playing this for my history college classes for years, and Jackie's always been one of my "herstory" ladies. I've got every vinyl album she ever recorded and I have to add that I think her version of Neil Young's "Only Love Can Break A Heart" might be the all-time best cover version too.
