    Bought one of these a few days ago, and the screen looks great with G-Sync working perfectly with my GPU.
    I have two issues.
    The audio output from the headphone socket is very low, meaning I have to crank both my Windows volume and speakers to 100% to get a decent level of volume. I'm considering putting a pre-amp in line with my speakers.
    Secondly the PSU with my display has bad coil whine. I contacted MSI support as it seemed daft to return the whole lot for want of a small PSU. But they will only offer to collect the faulty PSU for repair leaving me with no screen for 15 days, when I've had it for less than 48 hours. Not great customer service.

    Debating between something like this or a 1440 240hz panel such as the g274qpx. Really curious to see how much better games look at 4k compared to 1440 at 27”.

      Just swapeed from my M27U which is a 4k 160hz panel to a 1440p 240hz monitor, 4k looks good but the difference from 1080p to 1440p is much bigger IMO and since I sacrificed 240hz, and got half the fps I sold it, for fps games 4k won't do a big difference, even in big games like tarkov and PUBG, I find that after 1440p the benefits for fps games significantly diminshes and 4k is not worth it IMO if you mostly play fps games and care about performance, I think it's not worth it even for story games but there's maybe an argument to that, I can't go back to 1080p it looks so bad compared to 1440p, but the fact I could easily swap from 4k back to 1440p should tell you it's not that huge, would only recommend thinking about 4k if you have a 4080/7900xtx at least.

      I am currently looking for a good monitor. I have a PS5 and want one with HDMI 2.1. I found the INNOCN 27G1S Plus, but I read that it is not compatible with the PS5. Then I found the MPG274URF QD. Although I know the PS5 doesn’t run native 4K, it is at least compatible with the PS5. I’m considering competing, and if I do well, I might also buy a PC with a 240 Hz monitor. For now, I need a good monitor for the PS5 with a good response time. Do you recommend this monitor?

    Thank you for your review. Unfortunately, I ordered three of these monitors from Amazon UK, and all three had dead pixels. It was a frustrating experience, wasting a lot of time returning them. I don't have the patience to keep ordering in the hope of getting one without dead pixels. I might settle for the ASUS ROG Strix XG27UCS or the LG 27GR93U, even though their color gamut isn't as good, just to see if they arrive without any defects.

    • @PCMonitors
      @PCMonitors  Місяць тому

      I'm sorry to hear that, it's certainly frustrating and 3 poor units in a row is very disheartening. I've heard similar stories from other models over the years, from various manufacturers (such as the others you're considering). There are no guarantees and when there are ~25 million subpixels it's unfortunately not all that uncommon for some to be defective.

    Hi. I bought this monitor few days ago and have a question about scaling to 1080p. Does this blurry annoyance is permanent or it can be solved by potential firmware update or by some third party scaling app? If so what app? Thank you for your work and recommendation tab on site :)

    • @PCMonitors

      Scaling is specifically covered in the review. As advised there you might want to try increasing the sharpness in the OSD. The interpolation (scaling) process used on this monitor is actually better than many others, but it certainly still won't look the same as a native Full HD display.

    Hello
    Absolutely comprehensive and complete review.
    I don't use the Pc much for gaming, only once a week. But I'm very tire of 60hz.
    So far I was going for the Dell u2724D: ips black (2000:1), 120 hz, eye care, but only Qhd. So, probably low text clarity (although Dell says it's sharp). This monitor on the other hand seems to square the circle, low contrast aside. It's a 4k, with high refresh rate, high gamut and low minimum brightness.
    Is it risky to buy it mainly for photo editing and web browsing/office work ?
    It is extremely difficult to find a monitor that will suit mixed use, at least under 3,000.

    • @PCMonitors
      @PCMonitors  3 місяці тому +1

      I think this monitor is great for general purpose use - and the extra pixel density as well as superior responsiveness is nice to have on the desktop even. I also specifically recommend it for photo editing - pcmonitors.info/articles/best-photo-and-video-editing-monitors/.

      @@PCMonitors Hi
      I finally purchased this monitor.
      After trying it a few days I feel very disappointed. I have no tools to check the contrast but visually I found it really poor.
      High frequencies and latency aside I did not see much technological improvement. Yes, it is a 4k and has a wide gamut, but only on the data sheet. The color spectrum is horrible, especially in non-pro modes. Cheaper monitors have much more pleasing and restful colors. Over-saturation of reds (and more) makes even faces pinkish. I struggled to watch a movie. Photo galleries then, unwatchable. Tiring to the eyes, causing me discomfort and headaches. Also, I don't know if it's mine, but moving the joystick makes a crackling sound from the black plastic casing. I am hating it. I think I will sell it or return it. Maybe only suitable for gaming, but not for the rest. I don't want to dispute the technical accuracy of your test, which I still think is honest and rigorous, as always.

    I was trying to connect my iPad Air 5 to this monitor via Type C cable that comes along with the IPad. It turns out that the monitor is not displaying and the iPad is not charging.
    In my opinion, the cable might not support the DP Alt, hence the monitor is not able to display. However, I thought at least it would be able to charge the iPad even if it is not displaying.
    Could it be this monitor’s USB C port is not functioning? Or the port requires USB3.1/ thunderbolt cable to charge as well (which USB 2.0 is not able to charge)?

You won't find a monitor in the segment with significantly lower 'glow' than shown here. @@PCMonitors Hi there, thanks for the helpful reply! Have you experience with Mini-LED monitors, such as the Innocn 27m2v? This monitor received some high praise when it was released around $750, and can now be found for under $500, putting it a similar price bracket as some of these IPS panels. I've read some Reddit threads about the 27m2v, and am currently trying to get to the bottom of understanding some quirks with local dimming that some say this monitor has. Otherwise, it seems many people agree that the contrast ratio is fantastic, and the monitor is great for HDR + local dimming gaming, with some blooming in certain circumstances.
      Anyhow, would love your opinion on this one, if possible! Cheers :)

      I think it's worth trying out if you want a good value HDR solution. But it's not "amazing" in that respect given it's a relatively limited zone-count IPS without a 'low glow' panel. It's hard to argue with the value - expect some quirks and weird firmware issues but also expect a nice general performance from it.

      @@PCMonitors Hey man, thanks again for this. That's the impression I had, too. The thing is, there doesn't seem to be other options in this price range, besides the MSI in this video of course. Compared with the MSI, do you have an opinion on how they'd fare against each other with office work (browsing etc, no photo editing), and SDR gaming? Because if the two monitors would be similar for these purposes, it would seem like the 27M2V would be the best choice, given its HDR capabilities and better contrast ratio with local dimming enabled.
      Been watching more of your vids btw, subbed, great stuff!

    • @PCMonitors
      @PCMonitors  Місяць тому

      The MSI has better overdrive tuning, with a 'single overdrive mode experience'. Whereas with the Innocn the optimal setting depends on refresh rate. The MSI uses DC dimming and is truly flicker-free, whereas the Innocn uses high frequency PWM which some can find uncomfortable. Outside of that performance characteristics are pretty similar for normal SDR usage. As a side note unrelated to image performance, the MSI also has better build quality.

      The backlight - this one has a QD LED backlight with significantly wider gamut.

    I see all the sides of the screen are very noticeably dimmer than the center , this makes working on white background very annoying and disappointing. Why can't they make the light uniform across the screen??!! I've bought the mag 274qrf qd e2 2k monitor from msi which has the same kind of issue which I can not tolerate and so returned. Is this common for IPS panels or just that they don't care to quality check ?? My 1080p 60 hz monitor from 7 years ago has 1000 times better brightness uniformity and still running. I don't understand why these new monitors with all those latest technology are soo badly put together or manufactured? Please give your thoughts on this in the reply.

    • @PCMonitors
      @PCMonitors  Місяць тому

      Uniformity issues vary between individual units and it isn't uncommon to see such issues, particularly for larger monitors. Viewing angle imperfections also play a role, so you may notice such issues are less noticeable if you sit a bit further back from the screen.

    • @Hasan2k15
      @Hasan2k15 Місяць тому

      @@PCMonitors I check 2 units of the model I mentioned, both had same issue, the brighter parts of the screen are warm in color and dimmer parts are cool. I even saw a review from china which pointed about the same issue . And now I am watching your review and here I see the same issue too. The severity of the issue maybe more or less depending on the unit but it is present on all units regardless. Is this issue occurs for backlight ? Does the backlight not cover the whole screen ? Do oled monitors also have this issue ? I hope not!

    • @PCMonitors
      @PCMonitors  Місяць тому

      The issue is common on many monitors, but it's more obvious on models with QD LED backlights because of the spectral intensity. Any colour temperature irregularities are exaggerated, in other words, because the tints one way or the other are stronger.

    • @Hasan2k15
      @Hasan2k15 Місяць тому

      @@PCMonitors QD led monitors are available to consumers for more than 3 years now, why don't they improve the irregularity? Are QD led panels on development for improvement for ips panels or are they just working on improving just oleds?
      Will we see better uniformity on QD ips displays in coming years ?

    • @PCMonitors
      @PCMonitors  Місяць тому

      @@Hasan2k15 LCDs will always have irregularities, especially in the consumer space where they're mass manufactured products which aren't produced to tight uniformity standards in most cases. And there's nothing you can do to alter any uniformity issues being clearer on QD LED, because it's a physical property of the light and you can't change that.
