What he's saying makes sense, I read in a book called "history of the people's world" that since manual labor requires many hands and collab between different individuals, societies that relied on that sort of living always had many children and always had a strong sense of belonging to the family or the tribe. I mean look at societies that lived off rice, a plant that required (atleast in the old ages before technology) massive labor and many hands. It's not that deep but it's still fascinating.
