That’s what I’m confused about as well. These are two radically different versions, where they are both running through different emulators on different pieces of hardware.
2 conclusions: 1. embarrasing how Sony is still totally incapable to emulate PS3 games on PS5...Yes, cell architecture is very complicated, but for fuck sake! RPCS3 has been around long before even PS5 exists...But then yet, Sony want us to pay for a PS5 Pro, instead of granting access to PS3 library or at least deliver actual PS5 games to our current hardware, and not improved PS4 stuff! 2. What a beast of a portable machine PSP was! Is amazing how it delivered to put a "close enough" version of this Tekken 6, which was made for way more powerful desktop machines!
For those who don't know, this compares the Tekken 6 original 360 port and the Tekken 6 PSP port. So the thumbnail is technically incorrect here but also correct simultaneously (since series x can play all its previous-gen games with backward compatibility, and the PS5 store has some old PSP games in its collection through PS Plus). Also, note that the PSP port of Tekken 6 and PS3 port of Tekken 6 are completely different games, (the PS3 port being very similar to that of Xbox 360). So this ain't a comparison of a proper PS port here.
Ok... everyone knows that! The point here is, if you're going to put out a game from a technically inferior console, at least remaster it and put in HD textures and videos, otherwise you'll only be able to compare it to its closest version. In the case of the Xbox One version, there's nothing special about it since it's essentially the 360 version, so it would be valid to compare it to the PS3 version.
Rcps3 still has a long way to go before they can emulate every game. And even then, games that made heavy use of the SPEs can be more challenging to emulate than games that just focused on the main PPE, as this was often the case on many third party titles.
Everyone knew the PSP was about to get massacred. The surprise is how much made it over intact. I expected something closer to Saturn VF Remix vs. 32x.
@@crestofhonor2349 "PS3 emulation is also more difficult to do." Yeah, sure. Just some BS excuse on not actually putting in the work on what people want, but okay.
I think it's more of a money issue than anything. Sony execs most likely don't see the financial value of implementing ps3 and older emulation into the current console. Much like what happened with the ps3 when emulating ps2 games. They stopped manufacturing those models for that reason.
Sony, the company who MADE PlayStation “can’t figure it out” but a team of guys on the internet can? That’s a very SonyPony-like excuse. They’re just lazy

Playstation had superior backwards compatibility with the OG PS3: it was fully backwards compatable with PSX and PS2 games. And the compatibility was native on PS3. 360 had to emulate a limited catalog of OG Xbox games have any level of back-compat, often with the result being poorer performance than what was on OG Xbox (Max Payne) or game-breaking bugs (Outrun 2). The Playstation brand slowly gave up on back-compat as the PS360 generation wore on, as a cost-cutting measure for the prohibitively expensive PS3. By the beginning of the PS4 and Xbox One generation, all back-compat was missing for both PS3 and Xbox 360 on those devices. Yet MS actually built the Xbox One with an eye toward 360 back-compat, whereas the PS4 was devoid of any hardware-level solution for PS3. By the time of the Xbox One X, MS had moved toward a limited range of 360 games that were actually massively upgraded on that device. Sony, with Mark Cerny as engineer, has largely given up on back-compat. But now it looks like Sony is more interested in it than Microsoft (not surprising, as Xbox under Spencer has given up on any pretense of remaining a strong console brand).
