Trey used to do the full cartman voice in the early episodes. But his voice got deeper with age and he found it stressful to do the cartman voice, so in later episodes he started relying on post-production to create the full voice.
Ike has been voiced by numerous kids as the creators have noted they were looking for a very specific type of "kid accent" that children only have for a narrow window of time. Specifically one that's equally cute and annoying.😂
I think that's his daughter isn't it?
@@Kevyc601 yeah that is his daughter.
@@IRFSI I know what you mean, but your phrasing implies that outside of that clip, she's no longer his daughter lol.
@@djjazzyjeff1232 sorry. 😂😂🤣🤣
My face would hurt so much being around Bill Hader. I would never stop smiling 😂
Watching Barry right now and loving it! Brilliant!
There’s actually a made for TV special called “7 days til air” that tracks the production of a single episode of South Park from the moment the idea is pitched all the way up to its final production and broadcast seven days later, filmed reality TV style. If you’re curious about how they make the show at all, I highly recommend it.
“6 days to air”*
@@johndough3809 yeah, I hit the wrong number because I have psoriatic arthritis and my fingers suck. Thanks for correcting me and making me feel self-conscious.😬👌 especially since typing seven days to air on Google automatically takes you to six days to air so it really wouldn’t have mattered whether you corrected me or not. Thanks again brother.
@@ryanswaynow Lol get rid of the pissy attitude. You got the wrong name if only one person corrected you, you had a pretty easy day on the internet. lol chill
@@Algorythmfpv holy shit are you really the algorithm? Because you should probably learn how to spell your name properly.
@@Algorythmfpv yeah, wtf is that dude's problem? @Ryan Way you're way off base, he corrected your mistake. The correct answer is, "Thanks! I did know that but you're helping other people out!"
Oh god this is such a good video.
Bill Hader saying “… what fer?” makes me die laughing every time.
Cheers from America, boys.
My favourite part also the high pitched " I don't know "
He gets up on stage, strums a geetar and shits his britches like it's going outta style 😂😂
Imagine having that much fun at work and you get paid 1.3 billion lol. Trey Parker and Matt Stone are geniuses
Do they really make that much? Good for them man that's so awesome lol.
1.3 billion ? where are you getting this number ?
@@Shaneo0oo Parker and Stone are each worth around 650 million.
There a short clip with just the kid voice overs and ITS HILARIOUS.
Matt and Trey did Book of Mormon, too.
Parker and Stone are legitimately two creative geniuses. What they’ve accomplished as auteurs is amazing
With cart man I believe you’re right as that was 100% a cart man scene as I remember the episode. However I think it’s more of a preserve his vocal chords thing. Because of you watch their cult classic film “Baseket Ball” he absolutely 100% pulls off the cartman voice unaided during one of the “psyc out” attempts.
*Cartman (one word. It’s his last name. Eric Cartman) *vocal cords not chords. You’re likely confusing it with it musical chords. The Blokes were correct. They use pitch correction to pitch Trey Parker’s voice higher to create Cartman’s voice.
you're probably right, I totally forgot he did Cartman's voice in that movie lol. voices also keep getting lower as we age, it's probably tougher to do it after all these years. even in the very latest episodes, the boys voices sound even deeper than normal
@@_WeDontKnow_ exactly, they’ve been doing the show for how long now? How many lines per episode for Cartman, it’s a simple decision to use tech cuz it kinda seemed like they hadn’t thought of that and were maybe implying they have to use the voice pitch to get the voice.
Bill Hader is a G. He has a lot more to do with South Park than most people might guess, I remember hearing that the Fish Dicks Kanye West joke was largely his idea. Seriously funny dude.
I have no actual clue but I think Dave is onto something. I bet they animate most of the scene as soon as they get the script, then do the voice-over, then go back and animate the mouths to match the voice
watching trey do that "duh" face when voicing kim and nakayama was hilarious af
I work in animation. Typically you would record the voiceover before you animate. You might have still frames of the scenes edited together with a scratch voiceover over it to get the scene timings and then record the final VO afterwards. But you generally want to have voiceover first to time the visuals to. So much of the humor from South Park comes from the voice performance I imagine they would usually start with that.
Plus if you do voice over first, it leaves room to adjust if a joke didn't work or if an actor improvised something that worked really well.
@@marcpower4167 Absolutely. And if a script isn’t funny when read through then it’s probably not going to work in animation. You’d definitely want to hear how it plays just as a read through before wasting too much time in animation.
That's cool, I always thought it was done last. Makes sense though.
He's changed the way he does Cartman's voice over the years. I guess because it used to be hard on his vocal chords.
Old Cartman had a much grittier voice.. I love the old Cartman voice a lot more than the modern Cartman voice.
I've noticed that old Stan sounds like current Cartman
Their movie "Baseketball" was one of my favorite movies as a little kid.
"Team America" is awesome as well.
7:02 that cartman and his mom
Was SO hoping Bill Hader would be part of this compilation. "What fer?" 🤣
They did the movie Team America, World Police.
AMERICA, FUCK YEA!
Everyone has aids!
There was a whole Comedy Central special done around the Human CentIPAD episode
6 Days to air
I went back to that Why are you Gay video and omg, I forgot how funny it was and it had me in stiches haha!
Wish my job was like this 🤣
i love seeing the ike one. its hilarious
Love that y'all keep reacting to my favorites. Keep it up blokes!
Bill Hader laughs at everything & makes me laugh at everything so adding Matt Stone & Trey Parker would just be perfect. I’d love being a part of the South Park world 🤩🥰
That bit w/ Bill Hader has got to be one of my favorite moments. I would never be able to keep a straight face.
Y’all should watching “One week to air”
Every episode of South Park is made in one week. It used to be stop animation, and it still kinda is but it’s nuts that they go from concept to show in one week
Think they do a general storyboard. They give things to the animators to see what they can do with the scene, then trey writes the script and it goes back to the animators.
No, the audio is done first, then the animation later. Perhaps you got the impression the guys were voicing to pictures because we are shown the animation on screen here, but they're not- what we are seeing is the finished product. And yes, this is their own studio.
A friend of our family does voice-overs. He started by recording audio books for devices like Kindle. He works from a small studio he built in the backyard.
7:28 2009-2013 were my high school years 💀
Love peoples reaction to the behind the scenes typa videos
script > voice > animation is the order its done... they animate to the voices.
Yessssss , love the SP content , cheers !
one million ,you guys are great
the birth of South Park was in summer of 95 I think? or 96, i remember a so called Xmas card circulated the net back then in emails, they had made the boys talking about Santa and Xmas, and Brian Boitano the skater.. and new episodes are still coming out..
Parker and Stone have put out a few movies, both prior to and during the South Park era. BASEketball and Team America World Police are pretty well known. Orgazmo and Cannibal: The Musical are some of their earlier films.
Regarding the voices, while both Matt and Trey have always done them, and could do them accurately in person, they found it’s easier to do a more normal voice and then modulate them after the recording, so they don’t have to strain their voices as much. You can tell that the recording sessions featured don’t quite match up with the finished voices that appear in the episodes.
i love how when kyle's voice is muffled he sounds exactly like kenny lol
Great choice of video to react to. Very unique. A lot of reaction channels might be doing it for all I know. Yours is the first I've seen though.
Dave Shoots guns and then Records His Voice ….His copper hair Caused the electricity from the Microphone to Jump to his Ballz…Now he Raises Chickens and shoots .22 cal rifles at pigeons
Matt Stone and Trey Parker also created the successful play Book of Mormon
these guys are worth about 600 million dollars each!
So funny, laughed hard after 2 wks of misery. Great upload, thanx guys 👍✌️🏢🚹🚹🚹
We need an Office Blokes cartoon show
Beverly Hills Cop (especially3)….
Is My favorite movie
You should try boondocks voice overs
One meeeleeoons!!! I need the hat Blokes!!🎉❤
This reminds me of Matt Berry in Toast of London
Bill Hader breaks more than any other SNL character so he must have been dying trying to do this.
Yeah, all the kids' voices are just their voices pitch-shifted. Also I've seen this video a couple times and never paid much attention to the background. That's a Mesa Dual Rectifier on top, and kinda looks like a '65 Fender Twin Reverb combo on the left, under the mandolin. I'm not sure, as it's blurry. Can't place the one below the Rectifier. Also, they tend to use really big actors for small voice roles (like Bill Hader in the Steamy Ray Vaughan bit). Furthermore, the two Stan-centered episodes featuring Steamy Ray Vaughan, while hilarious, are incredibly profound and sad, as they center around depression, among other things. Like, they represent isolation, depression and coping better than any other show or movie I've seen.
A million views is only .0125% of the global population, surely you'll get there soon. 😉
Hader before the Barry..
South Park!!! ❤️
04:28 Voiceover is done first, then the animation.
One Million
Anyone know if the girl doing the last voice is the same as the girl who won an impression contest on stern? She looked kind of like her and the voice sounded like a female wack packer
Script then story board, animation then voice over.
PLEASE WATCH CONAN AND HUNTER S THOMPSON DRINKING AND SHOOTING GUNS!!!
Lmao
That sucks that the Butters video got blocked. He’s my absolute favorite next to Randy.
This comment is not about the clip, just a question. Does OB Dave wear eyelash extensions?
You do the script first and then animate after
There are several really good episodes that aren't available on Comedy Central and HBOMax. All of them include Muhammad as a character. Death threats from some outraged Muslim groups compelled Comedy Central to discontinue the episodes.
Is pronouncing Basketball as "Base-kit-ball" a European thing? I've honestly never heard it pronounced how Dave did.
Baseketball is the actual name of the movie they're talking about.
vooice recording is always before animation so they know how to animate which mouth movements
They up the pitch 1.5 (hertz i think) to make kids voices
production order is script, voice over, animation. You cant sync the mouth with the dialogue until you have the dialogue
