Most of the griping is BS. The woman who said Caitlin did it in 5 yrs (it was 4) said she was 25 (22), Caitlin can't help what size ball the WNBA uses or that there was no 3 pt line 40 yrs ago. You do it or you don't. Pete Maravich still holds the mens NCAA scoring record. He did it in 3 yrs (some guys played 5) He did it with no 3 pt line, and he did it with no shot clock (which meant the other teams could hold the ball longer to keep it away from him). He avg'd 44 pts a game all 3 yrs he played. BTW they went back over the score books from all of Pete's games and he avg'd 12 or 13 made shots per game that today would have counted for 3 pts. That means with a 3 pt line he would have avg'd 56 or 57 pts a game with just the shots he actually took and made. Oh and BTW the only person to score more pts in a college career than Pete ...... is Caitlin Clark. Angel Reese is a big, meaning Forward and 6'4", Caitlin is a 6' point guard. Cailin has 11 or 12 blocks this season, a couple nights ago Angel got her 1st. The only stat she has that is better than Clark is rebounding. She avgs about 8 or 9 to Caitlin's 6. Caitlin has her in assists and scoring avg. In fact Clark is avging about 16 or 17. Angel is avging about 8 or 9. Except for a few friends and die hard fans of hers from college days, nobody is watching WNBA games because of Angel Reese. She has a terrible attitude and is a very chippy player. Oh and one final thing. Indiana played New York recently and then a few days later Angel's team (Chicago) played New York. Crowd size for Chic vs NY - 8k crowd for Indy vs NY - 17k.

The jealousy is odd to me. My wife was the first female to get a full athletic scholarship (basketball) to Georgia Tech. She graduated in 3 years so only played is 75 games and scored 1088 points. This was before the 3-point line. She was inducted into the GA Tech Athletic Hall of Fame in 1991 along with Mark Price and John Salley. She still holds the rebound records (game and avg) and most steals in a game. I sat with her watching a GA Tech girls (Jackettes) game on TV in 2011 and one of the players tied my wife's steals per game record. My wife was cheering for her to break it. So why these girls are so jealous really baffles me. My wife would love watching Caitlin, unfortunately my wife has dementia now and can't understand the game.

Please stop asking people to blow down its disrespectful. The sooner this narrative stops the quicker Caitlyn can adjust and start really kicking some ass she has to go through this learning curve. In his first year, Eric Lindros was a huge target. Every opposing player sought to knock him down a peg. There are 2 huge differences though.
    1) Lindros was a hockey player. The NHL was all about high-impact, legal contact. So while some players may have taken cheap shots at him, most were legal.
    2) Lindros refused to play for the team that drafted him #1 overall. That immediately made other players think he was a primadonna.

I don’t know how you can disagree on that if you watched it. If you didn’t watch it in the last couple of seasons, I’m sorry but then your opinion is irrelevant. People like Shaq, Steven A, Perk, Arenas, Keyshawn… It is unprofessional to be that biased to the guy who you share skin color with. I never watched basketball (or any other sport, movies, music etc.) like that, those guys do… There is a agenda, narrative, like we already agreed, media driven. I wondered, they are doing it for the show, to draw attention by being so openly biased, which is not much better if you’re doing it with racism and divide people like that.
Those guys named above, always, always no matter the stats, results or any other measure, choose the best black player, not the one that meets certain bb criteria. Most fans on UA-cam talk about it and they see the same thing like everyone else watching it and they are openly against it, black or white fans… That’s the good thing, that most of the fans and true champions are against it.

CC is unfortunately being used to push culture war narratives divorced from reality. People make these claims of jealously when in reality almost no WNBA players have said anything negative about her or done anything outside the bounds of basketball (people who watch the games know this).
She is having a good rookie year and is clearly struggling with the physicality of the game due to her lack of mass and speed. She will adjust and be fine. She has helped bring attention to the game, which was already growing. She is not the only reason the WNBA is growing but is a major reason it is getting media attention.
