Exactly! When I was a teen it was fun to go to a foot locker type store and buy what you see. Not trying every method to get a pair of sneakers only to have them all sold out in 5 min or waiting forever only to be told they are sold out. Who wants to go through all that for some sneakers?

Personally, I’m glad reselling is taking a hit. I lived through the sneaker uprising and had the Original AJ 1’s in the Black and Red, but always wanted the Red, White and Black so maybe now, when they re-release them, I can get a pair. as an original sneakerhead and a true lover of the industry, the reselling game bothers me, everyone should be allowed to enjoy all sneakers not just the few with money.
Right. Half my sneakers came from resell. I'm glad i came to a point where i won't get resells anymore no matter how i love the silo, was able to beat the urge and impulse
Yeah man I remember when fools were getting shot for the AJ1s. It was crazy here in cali.. I mean it still is lol but I don’t hear about people dying specifically over their shoes.
I’m seeing this now and I’m sorry the Lost and Founds where so hyped that they were only to be bought at resell being that is the color way you wanted . It’s all about the hype and it shit like that that makes me buy dunks instead of Jordan 1s ! I love the Jordan 3 and that’s already way over hyped with reimagined design behind it and those are gonna be just like the Lost and Founds . I feel you !
I think it the hype has drastically cooled, but a lot of the reason why it is sitting is due to cost saving from consumers as the economy squeezes people financially

They have made tons of colors for the jordan 1 over the years. What other colors can be made? IMO, people buy what shoe enthusiasts likes or dislikes. That is a nice shoe to add to the collection. It’ll be a hit down the line.
I would say the hype and resell market for Jordan 1s is dead/over, but I believe people still love/like Jordan 1s... like yesterday it was a block party and they had a rim out and there was at least people that had 1s on (including me)...I personally like that the hype for 1s dead down, it give people that always loved 1s get them even if they sold out the resell isn't high
It's nice to see retros sitting on shelves finally, because it gives people a fair shot at grabbing them without having to deal with resellers. Hopefully more of them start to sit, but I believe that this won't stay for long. It's not that the hype is dead necessarily, it's that people are saving money for more important things than sneakers right now. If it's not a highly popular collab more than likely it's gonna sit for the time being. Definitely not the end of the hype though, because they are still selling out, just not as fast as the more hyped pairs that go way up in value. 💯

Yes, finally a review from the best on one of my favorite Jordan 1 releases! The Jordan 3 Fire Reds released officially here in China last Friday but I actually picked these over those. I was able to cop a pair in size 13.5 (12 US Mens) and these are absolutely fantastic in person.
The Chenille swoosh is a cool addition, the shade of red is also the same as the Chicagos with the same color blocking, the addition of gray compliments the shoe perfectly and just as Jodi pointed out, it will help stop stains from multiple wears from appearing, and the corduroy tongue makes it feel more padded and secure.
The chef's kiss was used perfectly to sum up the parts on this shoe. Jordan 1 hype dying is definitely a good thing for people who actually want to wear the shoes and not just buy them only for the purpose of reselling them or place them in a case to never let them touch the ground.
I actually love the grey on these. And I agree the womens bubble gum and UNC to chi fit my foot way better than mens. Love this shoe so much and I’m glad ones are starting to be more attainable/affordable
Jordan 1 Hare zoom CMFT is still on Nike online which is surprising. Chris would love the unboxing experience. 😊

Honestly, Chris you are the best sneaker reviewer on UA-cam. I’ve been tuned in religiously now for around 6 months solid, I know gathering the info in which you bring, is not a easy thing to do. My guy spotted the creases on the leather & knew which section of the cow was cut. Great work brother! Massive love from the UK 🇬🇧👟🔥

I think these are clean, simple and the swoosh is a nice touch. Being able to get them for retail would make them a great everyday beater. Love the hang tag and they are almost like the new beginnings. Solid shoe. Now the heat is coming in the next couple of months.

I was rocking Nikes and Jordan’s for awhile now. Recently switched to new balance and not looking back. Materials are better and prices are on point! Resellers ruined Jordan and Nike for me.
Good to have some1 that’s actually know about shoes review the shoes and talk about the shoe with detailed info that I personally want to hear. Nothing personal about the young kids doing reviews, but if I been collecting for more years than u been alive (I was born in 1978 and starting collecting in 1992) then I don’t wanna hear a review from u. I was big into sneakers when I started junior high. Last pair of Jordan’s I got were the 2018 White and Red 13s. Haven’t really kept up since cause of resellers and the way Nike handles releases for their products. But I’m glad to hear that they’re finally available to buy in store. Good old days
Its just that the market is down and the colorways are not good. People were overspending with their stimulus checks, messed up the market, and now people are being stingy with their money. It will eventually pick up again but not like how it has been since the pandemic started

I think it’s over-saturation. Nike is releasing two or three pairs a week. Most people can’t afford to keep up. The resellers definitely suffer as a result.

As a SB dunk high fan these are kind of the best of both worlds. You get a dope colorway with unconventional materials mixed with better leather than they have been throwing dunks lately. Picked these and hare CMFT jordan 1s. These give me UNLV-esqe vibes.

I got these when they dropped and it was love at 1st sight. They look great on feet and feel amazing.
These are fire. The Grey in the colar and tounge is chef's kiss. Its almost like a UNLV Dunk. 😙
I feel these are different from my other Jordan 1s . The toe box is closer to a dunk . They are higher and I love the stiff tongues on these, They stay centered !

The heel is much taller and straight, even comparing it with the '85 model. I have this pair and the New beginnings side-by-side.
i like the grey in the collar, sockliner and tongue. i wish they released in the states in extended sizing tho.

Those greys remind of me of the OSU Buckeyes colors - with the Scarlet Red, White, and Grey. This shoe is still fire 🔥 in my opinion.
They're sitting because of the fur swoosh. Makes them less unisex. Which means less buyers.
Chenille patches aren’t feminine. They’ve been placed on varsity jackets for decades. They’re worn by jocks more than anyone else.

Hype is definitely dead to the resellers anyway. Us sneakerheads will never fall out of love with Js though 😎 They sold out in Europe, just paid resale on the Georgetown 85s, not doing the same on these reds though..

I saw the fuchsia/yellow AJ1 High sitting at a Nike outlet recently. Men’s 9 and 9.5 with the shelves quite stacked.
More people were trying on Air Max models than anything.

tbh i completely disagree with the "dead hype" people are going on about regarding jordan 1s, its a fact that nike has been releasing several undesirable/niche/weird colourways with questionable/non-popular materials. pairs with more traditional colourblocking and materials such as the yellow toes are going to be scalped like crazy whereas naturally shoes with a carpet for a swoosh are not

I'm surprised a lot of people don't like the tongue. I'm fine with it, if you lace it up you don't really notice it. But for me, what killed it was the swoosh, the chenille looks off

As a non American I couldn't give a ... about jordan 1's one of the most uncomfortable sneakers out there. Good for 1990's so many better sneakers with air or boost or other technology.
Me personally I feel like resellers could ONLY ruin the art of buying shoes if your that type of person to ONLY go after HEAT, then yes resellers will ruin it for you but if your a travel person like nd willing to venture out to the stores in major cities you’ll easily catch a hot pair just came out for retail and don’t pass it up the day you spot it cuz it will not be there the next day.
Yes,after i bought several 1s before i felt like im bored already to wear those and ended up and decide give it to some my friends and relatives.
Now im stick only in two jordan brands which are 3s and 11s.
I don't even like 11's anymore. I am a 3,4, and 6 guy. I still like 1's but it has to be an OG colorway or a color way like The Bred Toe which could have been an OG colorway.
Was lucky enough to find these in my size at the outlets for 30% off today. It's a decent shoe in terms of quality and leather overall 👌

I’m a size 9 in men’s but I get a size 10 in woman’s 1’s. I just think it fits perfect unless you’re trying to put an insert in then I would suggest a 10.5.

Going against the grain but I don’t think the hype is dead for Jordan 1 and even dunks. Sure you see more in store etc but it’s because the whole world is in a recession. Cost of living is up, groceries and petrol costs more. Rent and mortgage interest rates are up. Therefore people have less disposable income to spend on luxuries such as sneakers.
Same for resellers. People don’t have money to pay huge prices.
Wait till we get out of the recession. The hype will go up again.

They’re growing on me actually the more I see them they’re not bad but the red I’m getting immune to them I’m not really a fan of red kicks for myself but they look good better than a lot GR release.
I was excited about the Chenille Swoosh because I bought every color of the Nike Air shorts with a Chenille Swoosh that dropped 1-2 years ago. Gray is actually one of my favorite colors too, but it does NOT look good on these with that color blocking! Super easy pass for me
Don’t think it’s dead, but I think people are being very selective because, well, these shoes are getting to be mad expensive. Especially with this country being in a damn recession. Don’t need to cop a shoe every week if you struggling to put food on the table.
Got the Taxis AJ1 .....Idk if it is as good as the SBB but I am happy with my pair
